@James, as to items, I would say a mithral breastplate is really not needed for James unless you plan on routinely having a Dex above 16. And given that you take a -2 Dex when Enlarged, that seems unlikely. I might suggest upgrading your Cloak of Resistance.
@GM, Kavor Doan will buy a Belt of Giant Strength +4 (16,000 GP). He will allocate his floating bonus from Transmuter to +2 Dex; although it won't help his AC at regular size, it will help when he is Enlarged.

belt is always the first order of business for a fighter.

I am waffling between picking up a +1 mithril shield or saving up (another chronicle or so) to upgrade my INT headband to add WIS. At 7th, the plan is to take Arcane Armor Training and a +1 Mithral Chain shirt for low 20's AC. If I take the shield now, there is only a 5% chance of arcane failure.
James, I think the belt is your best bet as far a bang for your buck goes. I can always add Shield of Faith into the rotation (or pick up a wand for 2PP), to give you a +2 deflection bonus.

James I was leaning toward the belt myself. The reason for the mithral breastplate is if I get a belt of all three stats, the dex won't be wasted.
Buying the belt of physical might str and con +2. I will update my sheet as well.
| Kyra, Level 7 Pregen! |
Any suggestion for a pregen here guys? I *think* my core cleric is 5th level by now but I'll check tonight for sure. In case he's not, which pregen would you all prefer here? (group enjoyment decision here, so please speak up!)
Kavor Doan

Kavor Doan is quite happy to help James on the front lines, as long as the barbarian doesn't get too far ahead with his 80' double move...
Deluge-Core

I like the oracle pregen. Decent equipment and spells. A pity she is not core.
Kavor Doan
|
I would suggest the cleric, bard, or wizard pregens if you do not have a Core PC in tier.
| Kyra, Level 7 Pregen! |
Since this is Core, I think it's more prudent to go with Kyra again. Thanks for the input everyone! Deluge and Fethril can thus focus on fun spells and leave the healing to Kyra.

Next adventure will be Halls of Dwarven Lore, 4-22, i will start us up tonight after i get off from work! :)
@James, you are quite tanky for a barbarian haha, so GM tip would be to lose that armor so i can smack you a little more :) (light hearted joke, i really didnt mean to go for you so brutally that last combat - you were just...very much at the front of the group and a big target :))
Was this going to be part of Outpost IV? I do not see a signup sheet yet.
Kavor Doan
|
There was only a specific set of scenarios they were running for Outpost. This was not among them.
Deluge-Core
|
That makes sense! Is it undead themed?
| Kyra, Level 7 Pregen! |
Any of you has a link to Outpost signup? I might check it out...
Deluge-Core

Check the Flaxseed header. I think there is a link there to a thread that has a link.
| Kyra, Level 7 Pregen! |
@Tealk: could you please copy paste my spell effect templates from the previous map? if you could put them to the side or a different slide, I can then bring those into play as needed. Thanks!
PS: all I need 'now' is the magic circle vs. evil.
Kavor Doan
|
Kavor Doan does have Air Bubble, a non-Core spell, in his spellbook through a Chronicle. He could use his bonded item to cast it.
But Water Breathing would be better if we have to go underwater. Anyone have that?
Kavor Doan
|
There is a Core barbarian rage power that could help, but I've never known any PFS barbarian to take Raging Swimmer.
| Kyra, Level 7 Pregen! |
Spare water breathing magic resources are not something anyone carries at low/med levels (certainly not Core characters, and even less Core pregen characters)
This is something Kyra could memorize for the next day, however, if you can reverse the direction of the elevator...
Deluge-Core
|
No water breathing but Deluge is a Druid and that means he can turn into something that can swim just fine. He prefers a nice crocodile. And then there is spontaneously cast summons which means he can summon a water elemental. If the key is under water I have a feeling Deluge can retrieve it.
And, if that weren't enough, he kept a 3rd level slot open and Water Breathing is a third level spell that will affect the entire party if they are all within touching range.
| Kyra, Level 7 Pregen! |
Yep. I can ping Tyranius for this table if y'all want?
PS: was this part of Outpost IV?
Tyranius

I should be able to help you folks out and finish up this scenario.
Which scenario are you playing? Looks like it is Core.
Tyranius

Thanks. I’ll read through your posts and the scenario here today to try and get caught up on where you are at.
Kavor Doan
|
@GM - just for my own edification - is "firm footing" not a possibility here? Kavor Doan definitely is carrying at least 16 pounds of gear with his armor and weapons. I didn't try a Swim check because I wasn't moving. It this a specific rule for this scenario that supersedes the normal underwater combat rules? Or am I misunderstanding the normal rules?
It is no big deal, but I do wish to understand the system better.
GM Tyranius
|
Yup, you would have to have more than 16 pounds on your person of equipment. Kavor certainly would due to the warhammer and fullplate armor.

Keep in mind that Comprehend Languages is not a personal spell so Merisiel could benefit from the spell and read dwarven. I really like the idea of failure on a 1 only.
And I love the tapping idea. The person in the maze can use a Morse code like pattern to signal north, east, south, or west. That is if the message spell fails to deliver. We should set up a code even if the message spell works because it might work for a while and then stop working.

According to Archives of Nethys, it is a personal spell. Comprehend Languages.
Deluge-Core

Well, dang, I guess it is. I guess when I cast it on that elemental way back when so it could talk to me I made a mistake :(
Deluge-Core

Are any of the enemy wearing metal armor or using bows or anything susceptible to warp wood or heat metal?
GM Tyranius
|
The one that was trapped under the rubble (Red) is wearing a breastplate armor. Otherwise the undead halfling is using a shortbow.

Looks like we are just missing Deluge's information. Below are your chronicles. Please look them over for any errors so I can get them corrected right away.
Kavor Doan

Thanks! Mine looks good!
@All - I could run the next two parts if absolutely needed, but I'd rather get the chance to play (for the dwarven theme). And James and Fethril are the core of this party, I wouldn't want either of them to have to step aside. Can anyone else pick this up, or should we look to recruit a GM?

Thank you again for picking us up Tyranius.
With work and my master's program right now, the earliest I could run would be in the summer.
I'd be okay fishing for a GM. I mean, Kavor is so close to earning Fethril's respect. It would be a shame to spend any time apart. (JK)
