Human

Everyone except Rrruh (don't worry you'll have another chance tomorrow) gets 100xp for successfully completing your first day of work.

Going to add the Day/Night/Extra ship actions information to the Campaign Tab so it is easy to find in future when you are wondering what you might want to do.

Thanks for putting the links up, you're right it would get frustrating having to hunt that one post every time we look at our options!

Human

Remember to let me know what night action you guys are taking.

I think Rrruh is sneaking and Hunter is going to bed early.

Okay, cool we do have xp track, some dms level you up whenever.=) what advancement do we use?

Also I have to ask. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what day action Hunter should take for day 2?

Human

I'm using the Medium track.

Human

Is that it for everyone in day 1?

Hi DM, did you have any luck contacting Alyat?

Human

Just pm'd her and so will wait for a reply. Alyat's main profile hasn't made a post in some time so I'm not sure if they have disappeared or not.

In any case if that leaves us with five I think we shall be fine.

With a fighter, barbarian, ninja, magus and bard the only thing you don't have is a full arcane or divine class which doesn't bother me in the slightest. I think you'll be fine.

Human

Best to put this here rather than the gameplay thread.

Trade goods

Trade goods are the exception to the rule that you can sell an item for half its price; they're valuable enough to be exchanged almost as if they were cash itself.

Human

Also still no word from Alyat. I might just have her become one of the crew that you can interract with like the others. What do you guys think?

Fair enough, if you worried about the PCs getting poisoned, I wouldn't let that happen, I'd tell them to not eat certain foods.

If you are worried about many of the NPCs, making Hunter feel guilty about what he is doing would bother. If anyone tried to be Hunter's moral conscious, he would almost have to do what they say, you wouldn't even have to inflict severe punishment on him, though that would get him to stop too. But that's the character for you.

Edit: Will not try anything to harm any NPCs whatsoever, you make yourself pretty clear.

I think its more a worry of blame... Someone gets poisoned suddenly and their is a new cooks mate... wonder who is gonna take the rap for that? If i were the cooks mate I wouldnt want to take the fall for someone else *nods*

Aid another after the roll is generally frowned on or not allowed as far as I know.

Additionally, Sapphire doesn't know Hunter. He hasn't taken any time to get to know her or the other PCs really, and Sapphire is aware of his existence but certainly not familiar enough with him to allow an uncouth (and untrained) barbarian to sit closeby and give her etiquette lessons on talking to pirates! If he spent less time hiding under beds for no discernable reason and more time interacting with the other PCs he might develop a better relationship with them!

I'm not sure how to interact with the PCs. I also have to find them on the ship sometimes.
No I'm not still under the bed, I'm trying to explore the place and get off this ship before I get killed by the pirates.

Human

On PBP its a bit hard to aid before the roll so I have no problem with aiding whenever.

Cool, but Sapphire is clear that she wants to roleplay the best she can and I don't want to ruin her enjoyment.

I still don't know how to start conversations with PCs though, getting started is always the hardest part for me. Even NPCs, I really don't know how to start conversations or socialize for the most part generally.
If a PC can help me out in approaching my character it would be appreciative. I would make it easier on me and the rest of the game since I'm not talking to an unknown.

We have some limits in this game because of the ship rules. It is not likely that you will have the time to come and find one of us during the day unless they assign us to work together. After work hours though all of us are expected to be on deck for the Bloody Hour when they dole out the daily punishments. So once Scourge and Plugg finish dealing out punishments and dinner begins you can go sit with anyone you want. Reinald felt well comfortable enough with you based on our interaction to call for your help in the fight.

I think at this point your name and the names of the other PCs are common knowledge to each other even if you have not been introduced. As for approaching folks take the plunge just talk to them. Offer to help, start chitchatting, or whatever.

Hey hunter, try chatting up Crimson Cogsward. Your a rigger, he's a rigger, you could talk about, I dont know what ships youve been on, lie about fights and women. Hes a bit unriendly right now, but he isnt one of the ones who attacked us So its worth a shot.

I basically took a gamble that Jack scrimsaw well worked scrimsaw and used that as my basis of conversation. Hell start up with a conversation about the weather.

As to your earlier post on teh discusion side of the board about getting off the ship before you killed by pirates, I think it was made clear that we were pressganged because they need crew badly. So we are probably a bit safe on the getting killed aspect. Punishment and being unfair jerks sure, but unless we do something dumb we should be okay for not getting killed.

If you are newer to pbp and have questions please dont hesistate to ask me, I will be glad to help as much as I am able!

Human

Going to move on to day 3 after work today. Unless anyone wants to do any extra night actions.

Did Hunter actually get his dagger back or not? I posted after the DM as I realize now that it says she took back the dagger, but since the dagger was like near him as it was thrown Hunter would have grabbed it on his way out.

Human

You weren't in there at the same time as Sapphire. They were two totally different daggers. The dagger she took was from Sapphire.

Human

So I just got finished watching the first season of Black Sails today. If anyone is into pirates and liked Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island I would recommend checking it out.

Which reminds me I need to buy Assassins Creed: Black Flag...

yea i like pirates atm...

A number of discarded crates and boxes packed with straw lie in the bilges, among which your searches find a suit of leather armor, three heavy maces, and 12 sp. In addition, you find the following in the dark waters: a buckler, a masterwork handaxe, a vial of holy water, a tanglefoot bag, two tindertwigs, and 21 gp

This is where we talk about who gets what loot.

5 GP per person and 1 gold left over
3 SP per person

Leather armor
3 Heavy maces
Buckler
Masterwork handaxe
vial of holy water
tanglefoot bag
2 tindertwigs

I'm interested interested in none of the items, it is all useless to me as I wouldn't use any of those weapons or armor, I'm just trying to get back what is mine.

, and I'm not looking at Sapphires list yet, because I assume we haven't seen the stuff yet IC.
I'm assuming the cutlass comes from Sapphires list?

21 GP and 5 SP
Leather armor
3 Heavy maces
Buckler (Rainald, he just go ahead and claim this, it is not like it is that much anyway)

I would be happy with the Mwk Hand axe to it would work the same as a cutlass damage-wise why not go for the +1. Unless someone else needs it. Also might be less conspicuous.

Okay, so I assume I'm in the sweatbox? What does it do?
Also, I know it will be forgotten, so I put in in my profile under spoiler.
I'll assume Reinald already took the buckler and the masterwork handaxe as he said he wanted it, so I didn't include that in the list.

Human

That's not until tomorrow. Right now you are in the bilges in shackles.

The sweat box is well... hot. Especially in the sun. Basically lots of con checks or take nonlethal damage.

Also I am giving you a second piece of eight here(for standing up to scourge even though it was rather detrimental to you and could get you killed).

Currently I think everyone still has one. Don't forget about these guys! They can save your life, or doom others.

This piece of eight though is temporary and only lasts for 24 hrs (till next bloody hour).

detrimental yes, but I'm also trying to roleplay barbarian, I don't want to overdo it, because that would mean trying to take down the whole crew.
Also, what does piece of eight do again?
I don't remember getting one in the first place, but okay, I have 2.
