Guess here comes the decision if the loot is only divided between players or if we go more roleplay and pay the whole crew.

Gan Laccaran |

I am suggesting a party fund that I will manage. I will tally the value of all the items we find and show what the final value would be and then divide it by the crew to show the financial limitations on how much wealth each character would have if we simply sold everything.
Here is an example to show how this would work:
A party of three players finds a +1 Magic longsword, a +1 Breast Plate, and a Ring of Protection +1
Values:
Sword = 2370GP / 2 =1185GP
Armor = 1350GP / 2 =675GP
Ring = 2000 / 2 =1000GP
Total Profits WOULD be 2860gp overall
Split it between 3 players they would all get 953gp and some change each.
Now wait! One of the players wants the sword.
Normally, if he is given the sword, he may not be given a cut of the money. The remaining money to be divided is 1675gp which, even if only divided by two, the other two players only get 837gp instead of the 953, while the third player technically gets 1185gp in the sword. By no way is that a fair split.
Now, the pool would be 2860. This would normally be divided among the three players but what "party fund" is, is an extra division of the loot.
So instead of dividing 2860 by three you divide it by one extra, four. This measures out like this:
Player 1: 715gp
Player 2: 715gp
Player 3: 715gp
Party Fund: 715gp
Now, this is only the collected value and distribution of the items BEFORE they are sold.
Now say the player wants the sword. He must "buy" it. The Sword sells for 1185 so that is how much money me must forgo to get it. So first he gives up his 715gp claim to get the sword but he must still make up the difference of 470gp he still owes. He then borrows the 470 from the party fund to get the sword.
He is now in debt to the party fund by 470gp and must pay that amount back before he can borrow again.
Though he gets his sword, everyone else still gets their 715 and so the layout looks like this now:
Player 1: 715gp
Player 2: -470gp but has a 1185gp
Player 3: 715gp
Party Fund: 245gp - This is where player 2's income will go at the next looting.
Now lets say the group gets 2000gp worth of loot and no one keeps any items. Now distribute by four again and this is what the layout looks like:
Player 1: 1215gp
Player 2: 30 gp but has a 1185gp
Player 3: 1215gp
Party Fund: 1215gp.
Now everything is even again. Player 2 may have less money but if he were to sell his sword, he'd have the same as everyone else.
Party fund can also be used to make "group" purchases such as buying a wand of cure light wounds which would be used by everyone and thus would come right out of party fund.
Given the Ship and crew setup of this campaign, I feel this system works really well and I would be willing to keep track of it all.
I will post possible distributions here on the OOC thread once we figure out what items we found.
How does everyone feel about me doing this?
Oh and the important question to the DM is, should we include ALL crew members when distributing loot or are they getting paid another way?

Ayaki "The Red Fox" Hu |

Ok so specific loot like just now is for us and we gather plunder to share with the crew. How do we gather plunder? Raiding?
Is a cutlass finessable?
Can i take 20 to identify the amulett?
Some items read themselves rather mysterious. What´s a boatstwain call? The dark blue powder? and the bottle with the brown fluid?

Ayaki "The Red Fox" Hu |

There´s a lot of gold coins and platin coins as well^^

Ragnar Stolen-Voice |

As far as dividing the loot, I've seen it done that way before and if I don't have to do the accounting, I'm pretty okay with it. ;) That being said... given that there's no place to sell this stuff yet, it may make sense to distribute at least some of the most useful items now even if long term someone doesn't want them. Potions for instance are immediately useful and the shackles may well be something that can come in handy for the ship in general.
I also tend to like the idea of using what you find instead of pawning things at Magic Item Mart, but that's just a personal preference.

Ayaki "The Red Fox" Hu |

I like that system, its similar to PFS actually, but i see the difficulties with magic shops and who knows where this campaign will lead us. before the stuff is rotting somewhere it should be put to use. Gathering and acquring magic items is always a nice side quest^^
Cutlass not being finessable is really strange, since it´s similar to short sword and rapier, but that´s the rules...
Also i have no clue what to do with that whistle, but i will take it anyway hahaha-

Gan Laccaran |

I don't mind distributing items on a need to use basis. As you have said, those potions may end up being needed at some point. That is why they are with the quartermaster in the armory.
If a ship is sighted, we can distribute items to be used in the battle for now. The money system should only come up if we ever have the opportunity to sell.
I don't know the value of the whistle but I don't mind if Hu takes it, seems appropriate.
I am torn on where to take the ship. First instinct is to take the ship to port peril. I was really hoping to find something in Plugg's belongings that might hint at other places to go but I didn't find any.
I will need to check Plugg's destination. Is there anything I know about where Plugg was going? I need to look up the name of the place because Gan was able to use profession sailor to figure out where Plugg was taking the ship before.

DM Bound Shade |

The name of the place is Rickety's Squibbs. It's a small drydock well known to most of the free captains of the Shackles, particularly for its hidden locale and the reputation of secrecy by the owner and main operator, Rickety Hake.
Going beyond game mechanics, cutlasses were heavy-bladed weapons useful as tools as well as swords. The heavy blades meant that they could be used to cut rope as well as flesh fairly easily. The short blade was more to make them useful in the tight quarters of a ship than for any amount of finesse.

ready

Was the ship renamed after being taken over by Plugg?
If not i would propose to give it a different name too.

Hey everyone. I was hoping I could ask a favor of you guys. I have a game on my phone called ”Deity Wars” Sort of a virtual card game. It normally doesn’t cost money to play but to really get good cards, you have the option to spend money to do so. There are other ways to get good cards though. One way is through invitation coupons. I get those every time a new player puts in my referral code.
So, what I am asking for any of you with a device,(Iphone, Smartphone, tablet, etc) to download the App game Deity Wars. You then run through the tutorial. Once the tutorial is complete, you then go to Mypage, should be accessable via a button on the top of the screen. You then scroll down to the Referral Code button and then tap it. Then you enter my referral code DIE9324 and confirm. Just like that, I get an invitation coupon which I can trade for an awesome card and you get a free random card.
It doesn’t cost anything to download and run through the tutorial. I know a lot of players who’ve been playing a while who haven’t spent a cent. So there really is no harm to you. Just a moment of your time. Once you’ve helped me out, you can uninstall the game, or continue to play. My game name is Deece24 so send me a message if you would like to continue and I’ll make room for you as my ally.
Thanks for hearing out my request. You don’t have to help me, I just thought I’d try. No harm in asking right? Thanks again.

Ayaki "The Red Fox" Hu |

Yes, wish you all the best for them!

So both grandmothers are home finally, but still recovering. Both suffered some bumps and bruises. They'll need help around the house, but they're otherwise okay.
One had a nasty cut on her forehead, but nothing requiring hospitalization. The other had a hematoma on the surface of her brain and required ICU care. Fortunately, it was at the hospital my mother works at, her unit even, so she got great care. Neuro checks every 30 minutes. Thankfully, she hadn't started back on her coumadin but a couple of days earlier, so the bleeding wasn't extensive.
I appreciate the understanding that people have shown. Let's get this game moving forward once again.

Four Skulls |

We kind of need to decide what to do with the prisioners. Shackle them again somewhere else, make them part of the crew, release them in the island, kill them...
Being pirates and all we should talk to them and give them "the choice"...
What is the opinion of the rest of the party? My vote is to try make them join us or release them in this island before we leave.

Ayaki "The Red Fox" Hu |

Yeah give them the choice.

Ragnar Stolen-Voice |

Hey, just wanted to pop in and say I hope my last post didn't come across as being too confrontational. Just looking to keep things moving and to me at least, all signs are pushing towards exploring the island.

Ayaki "The Red Fox" Hu |

It´s good, no problem.

Four Skulls |

Srry for the slow posting latetly, took a second job during this month and my personal life is in the garbage can. Cant find time for anything and by the end of the day my eyes do not wish to remain open a second longer, damn them!

DM Bound Shade |

No worries. I've got cruddy developments in my own life. I've just started seeking treatment for depression and anxiety that has frankly crippled my life. A few weeks ago it came to a point where I had a nice little scare, so believe when I say that I empathize. If you want me to move forward if you don't respond, just so that the game keeps moving and you'll chime in when you can, I'm find with that. There's certainly going to be days where I'm not waiting to see what happens, but rather I'm trying to deal with my psychological issues.
Mental health sucks, btw.
