We'll see what they say. I'm inclined, given how skewed the culling has been, to actually restore someone from one of the totally wiped NPC families or pick someone that could be a fun NPC to build on. Had Ritti Rallo died... she would have been my first choice. :)

I was definitely glad to see that she made it. :-)

I knew I liked you guys for a reason. :D
I was surprised how many of my burgeoning favorite NPCs survived. I was figuring on maybe a couple living through it.

You are quite welcome. He's certainly an interesting character. :)

Lol. Yeah there was no way she was going to die. My bro and I were talking about her and she was the first name we looked for after our families.
I'm re-"reading" The Song of Ice and Fire series thru books on CD for my long commute every day. Definitely getting an Arya Stark vibe from Red.

Okay, that's really a tough call. The story possibilities from each selection are just wonderful (in a morbid sense that is).
I think it's got to be Olivia. While having Rowan live opens a few options, I think her death would hit him hardest. Having Olivia live though would give him enough reason to not just end it right there though, whereas if it was Gavin (my other consideration RP wise), he might just not care as much.
| stormraven |
As you wish, Olivia will live. You could use Jak's up-for-grabs pick to save Rowan as well. With her hubby, your cousin, out of the way...
Well, I'll let you decide if you guys want to take that option. :)

"OK, guys, feel free to get in your last reactions or actions and then I'll do a little narrative update and a tiny bit of fast-forwarding. Thanks for playing along on this dose of heavy RP, I hope it wasn't too over the top for you."
Are you kidding? I love the role-playing. Lyrica and Allegra would likely check on their neighbors next, so I'm going to move them to the Wynn's house. However, if you are ready to move everyone fast forward, please feel free. The Wynn's may or may not have heard the girls at the door.

Assuming your question wasn't rhetorical... I wasn't kidding.
:| <-- See this? This is my serious face.
}:| <-- And this my serious face when I don't trim my eyebrows. :D
Different folks have different tolerances for RP, drama, and melodrama... I try to walk the middle-ground where everyone is happy, which can be a challenge when you don't have the players dialed in yet.
I was going to prompt Aerik that he can answer at the Wynn household or not... but it seems I've been Druinja'd!
Total aside, one of my favorite BBEGs was a gestalt Druid/Ninja... that guy was badass.
| Lyrica Strom |
No, it was rhetorical. I just want you to know that I'm having a really great time. This feels like its going to be a great campaign!
Hey Folks, I am leaving for Thanksgiving to my inlaws on Wednesday and we will be returning on Friday. Internet will be questionable for the next few days, but I'll post if I can.
| stormraven |
Have a good Turkey Day!
Also, I'm glad you are liking the game!
Gents, I've added/modified two spoilers under the Campaign Tab. The Dies Drear Populace one shows the families and recent deaths. The Dies Drear Post-Mist Populace shows who all is left.

I am feeling despair because for some reason I decided to leave my armor in the house. I think it is time to stop worrying about what the others think and come out of the closet as a real paladin in shining armor! :-)

I left my spear in the grove when I ran with my tail between my legs. :(
| stormraven |
Thanks for the heads-up. Depending on how things go - who is off to enjoy turkey day and whatnot - we may just suspend play till folks are back. I'll be here through the evening to drop posts and haunt your nightmares. >:D

um, she would have had to go thru my entangle. i was going to withdraw and drop the entangle anyhow, so i dunno how SR normally handles this kinda stuff. Either way, this was gonna be my move:
I'm sorry if I caused any problems. I should probably be patient and just wait my turn, but I sometimes cannot help myself and post in the hopes of moving things along. If the entangle is dismissed, that certainly works out for Lyrica and her approach. Even without the dismissal, I was hoping to move along the edge of the house and try to avoid the entangle. I can do whatever Stormy wants me to do.

As a chess player, I know the greatest defense is a strong offense. It is how I have always played the game. I just hope that it is not too foolish. I really like my character a lot! Hit point are certainly low, but then again, so is nearly everyone else. I will admit, it does add a level of suspense that I am not use to except perhaps on the chess board at a tournament. You can feel the tension in the air as thick as a knife as the clock ticks away and you are trying to see your opponent's move coming up! We will wait and see. Tick . . . Tick . . . . Tick . . . .

Oh I think Capablanca, Karpov, and the other gods of positional play may have a thing or two to say against that theory. :) A stifling, multi-layered, slow envelopment with redundant defenses may not be sexy but it does get the job done.
I'm assuming you are a Kasparov kinda fella based on your approach. And, let's be honest, Romantic (as opposed to Positional) play is way more fun and exciting. And Kasparov did spank Karpov a few times. So even the 'Boa Constrictor' approach can be beaten.
| stormraven |
LOL!
I actually chopped out a bunch of text there because I figured I'd probably totally lose the non-Chess types in the audience. :D
Suffice it to say, right about now, Lyrica is probably wondering who is sitting across the table from her... and will he snap her White Queen off the board? >:)
| Lyrica Strom |
I can play a positional game of chess, but I much prefer the open games where tactics abound. I love games where I can use discovery, forks, skewers, and pins and win pieces convincingly. However, the stronger the opponent, the more I need to rely on the positional strategies of the game, because they see all of the tactics that are unfolding. As for Lyrica, if she is half a chess player, she should know not to let her queen come out too early in the game! She may be powerful, but she cannot afford to be a target.
