assuming nothing goes bump in the night Durren wakes up, touching Averin's shoulder and puts his armor on. He goes outside to the party "We all ready to head off?"
The night passes with ease. The only movement seems to be the sound of the river nearby and the moon drifting across the sky. The sun rises reflecting over the dry patched earth nearby, waking you all.

And with a group like ours, that's always a possibility, whether it actually happened or not. . .
Averin made the rounds, waking each of them in turn. When it came to Kharn, he made certain to keep his hand on his sword, not knowing how the odd one would react. "I have nothing pressing, we can move on now."
Kharn pays no attention to the man rousing him from sleep, and instead mumbles about some nonsense while packing his things and putting on his armor. Kadesh always likes to get turnips from the marketplace. The others say he never eats them and just throws them at things. Still have not seen him do that. Seen him do that for the past 3 nights, someone has a weird idea of what a prank is.
The sun just begins peeking over the hills as the party sets off to the north. The dusty road, surrounded by dry patches of grass, winds alongside the river.
Describe a bit of your travel, and give me a perception check.
Durren mainly stays in front with Averin, that way anything that jumps them has a strong vanguard to go through. Most of the time is spent chatting with Averin and looking around
As we are walking Bullpup notices that there is something hanging out of Durren's pack. Something with a handle that has a metal band at the end that catches the light. Bullpup is mesmerized by it and decides that he has to take a closer look.
As he slides it out of Durren's pack he slows down until he is at the back of the group, then pulls the rod out of his sleeve to look at it.

Averin stayed in the front, never leaving that position. He carried his halberd in his hands, ready for whatever might threaten them. He tried to stay alert, but found that wasn't so easy as he kept talking to Durren.
Kharn is talking to himself. What is there that makes life worth living... Kharn coughs. Johan is always so dire, asking death things like that. He sees death on a regular basis and talks about things... CATS, death says, CATS ARE NICE.
Gax first notices feeling a bit off while memorizing spells after waking. He eats rations and drinks water, but he's sweating profusely. As the group travels he lags towards the back feeling light headed.
He snickers at Kharn's comments. Cats of DEATH he says imitating Kharn's manic tone. The Cats are coming for you!
I was helping you, it almost fall to ground. Bullpup pulls out a cloth that is about as clean as a bar towel that has seen too many years and wipes down the rod.
Here you go, I just being friendly, it is pretty though. Bullpup hands back the rod and then scampers back to Tobia and softly scolds Footie.

Sleep alright? I slept tucked in all tight, all night, but hardly all right. All left perhaps, but not all right. Gax laughs a little too hard at such feeble word play.
He takes his water skin from his pack and sprays some at Durren's groin. Whether he hits or not, he giggles and says Durren peed himself.
Durren frowns "Averin, I may need some help here" Durren walks over and puts a firm hand on Gax's shoulder "I think we should rest for a bit, I'd like to take a look at you"
Kharn laughs at Gax's antics and comments Timmy thought that was funny after which he grabs two skulls dangling from his garment and holding them out at Gax taps them together lightly.

"What has gotten into you?" Averin announced at Gax's actions. He turned and looked around at the rest of the group, to make sure that no one else was acting similarly.
As you touch Gax on the shoulder, you notice that he feels hot to the touch.
DC 16 Heal Check:
As you feel at Gax' pulse and question him about how he feels, you realize that he has contracted cackle fever. It is not a deadly disease, though if left unattended, it may leave him unconscious after a few days. You also know to be wary, as it is highly contagious.
"It seems you have cackle fever. You should be fine, but you're going to not be feeling the best for a few days. Also it's pretty contagious. Unfortunately I don't have the power to heal you, we're going to have to get some help"
Durren says sternly "He's not going to die, I don't really believe his life is in danger. However he's going to be miserable and possibly useless until he is healed. Where is the nearest town?"
Kharn laughs at the question, It's behind us he says while turning around and pointing. Oh, wait that isn't behind me... He turns around and points in the opposite direction, Wait a minute. He then reaches over his should pointing his finger behind him. It's that way.

Averin leaned in close and whispered something to Durren.
Durren:
"It occurs to me that we don't know which of them are crazy because they are sick and which ones are crazy because, well. . .Anyway, if we are going to stop and babysit, then we might want to keep them separate from each other, and especially us."
Every now and then, he cast a sideways glance at the others, as though he was suspicious of them.
Seperate not better, we need to stay group so big furry naked tails don't eat us one at a time. You part of group now, stay here like footie, hey do I need to tie string to you so you follow too.
Am I aware of the closest town or do we have a map of some sort?
"No he's right, let's stay together. No need to fear just because we don't understand. I've seen nothing that makes me wary; only curious. Come, we need to find a better healer than I"
You know of Sirathu, which is where you came from. One days walk back. You would need a knowledge geography, or possibly local, to find out about more. Currently the only map you have is for the town of Sirathu.
You can make a heal check to see if you can make an herb mixture for him, I would need someone (doesn't need to be you) to make a survival check to make sure they found the herbs, but if successful, I'd give Gax another save with a +4 circumstance bonus. If he succeeds the symptoms would go away. He'd still need another save to be cured and the damage would remain to heal on its own, but he'd be okay to travel and fight.
"Some mulwort root, and pink heart's leaves. I'm afraid I've only used them after they've been collected, so I haven't the faintest idea of where they'd be in the wild"
As Gax begins to feel like himself again, he says: Thank you once again Durren for your healing. Averin, and everyone, thanks as well for your roles. I've been on my own a lot and I'm not accustomed to having anyone to help me when things are tough. I owe you a debt.
