Dull as he is, my wizard is often right.

At these words Karethas gives a sullen glance at Amir and nervously smooths his robes in an attempt to calm and compose himself. He looks back intently at Idi when Amir asks for ideas on terms.

Idi gives Amir a calculating look, "I do not know if your master can match what I expect to receive in Kelmarane. He is welcome to participate in the auction, of course. Did you not bring slaves to sell as well or do you just seek to pilfer mine?"

Keeping his face impassive Karethas leans down and whispers in Amir's ear, "I don't know about you, but I don't have a good answer to that. We may have taken the wrong track on this."

Amir waves off Karethas blithely, In gold? No I suspect not... but my master has much more than gold to offer. Contacts. Contracts. Information. And we of course have our own own slaves, some we might part with. We have elves of our own. I have one, a male, very fresh but well trained already. Pretty. Knowledgeable... Amir frowns sullenly. But a little frail and not quite right. My master has a certain aesthetic taste and your new treasure would match a more recent acquisition of ours better than the male currently in our possession.

Amir will stretch languidly and push a piece of food into his mouth. I see no auction block here, no crowd or onlookers. Gentlemen of means can always find accommodations away from prying eyes. I have my master's full confidence. Name you price...

How far away am I from Idi? Is there only one gnoll in the tent with us?

map. enemies all haloed.

Amir- you are at the same table with Idi, there are 2 gnolls and Xander also in the tent (it's getting crowded : ) ) a reclining stoned looking gnoll is near you, the most alert one is at the door. Just outside the tent flap is the other somewhat impaired looking gnoll and then the one that went back over by the slaves with the hyenas.

Slow Idi flashes his stained teeth and pulls at his earring, "Do you carry much gold with you?"

In tent sense motive DC 19:
Idi appears to be weighing his chance at just killing you and taking your slaves versus the unknown dangers of having your "powerful benefactor" as an enemy. Greed appears to be winning over fear.

Much gold? No. My master arranges transportation of funds to the markets separate from his representative. It ensures more...civil proceedings...

Oh screw it.

Sensing treachery from the old slaver Amir shrugs after his comment. Turning to Karethas languidly Amir notes, Slave trading can be such dirty business. Springing from his seat Amir dives towards Slow Idi, the knife leaping to his fingers from his mechanical sheath. Amir yells as he leaps forward. Kzrira!

Would it be possible to retcon that Karethas has readied an action to Charm Person on the Gnoll by the door if he sees Amir make an attack? If so, that is my action. Otherwise Karethas will just cast it on the Gnoll at his initiative.

Charm Person DC 15

Karethas senses that the conversation is not going well. He twists his ring nervously and when Amir attacks he begins waving his hands in a slow hypnotic pattern at the Gnoll by the door. His voice raises into a sonorous chant.

After hearing Kzrira's comment, I spend the turn untying Xilla and myself. I guess the whole slave trading didn't work then? Shame, that could have been done so peacefully.

'Xilla, do you have any abilities that could enhance our comrades in this battle or anything to stop a few enemies?' After hearing her answer, I will climb out of the wagon, Rapier drawn.

Xilla shakes her head as she draws her dagger, "Sadly, unless you need a scroll read or item quickly identified, I have little to offer."

Kzrira's bolt hits the gnoll in the gut, majorly harshing his pesh buzz. Still need a DC 14 Fort save from Amir and Karethas (can't ready an action outside of combat so the charm person will occur on your init.

'That is a shame, I suggest you stay hidden in here then and stay safe. Xander would not be happy if you were to come all this way, just to get hurt or die here, just when you were about to save him from his nightmare.'

If I am able to move once untying both Xilla and myself, I would like to move to square J5 (even if it is me getting out a different side of the wagon). If I can't then I will move there on my next round.

The thick cloud of pesh fills the entire tent limiting vision and overwhelming Amir and Karethas with the intoxicating effect. Karethas is quickly brought back to reality with a clout to the head as a gnoll suddenly loom before him and strikes him with a sap. Karethas-5 nonlethal.

Outside the wounded gnoll quickly draws his hooked blade and swings at Kzrira, but grimaces and nearly doubles over at the pain from the bolt in his gut. The gnoll by the slaves grabs some sort of odd polearm that is tipped with a metal scorpion claw and advances toward the crossbower with the hyenas at his heels.
