You end up snapping the bits in half and flipping the around and relinking them using bits of things found in the saddle bags after wraping them in bits of leather to form roller mouth pieces with snaffle style fastenings. (This is about the best you could hope for without a blacksmiths setup and these will degrade quickly just a warning...)

One of the horses realizing what has happened gives up on trying to get to the apples and andgoes to nuzzle Dorvren.

Dorvren accepts the nuzzle and pats the beast on the nose. So that happened. Foolishness to treat these animals as they were. It is painfully obvious that Dorvren is not used to affection.

The woman seems mesmerized by the creature, as almost without notice, she reaches for the Wand handed to her by Dorvren and zaps the creature.

Dorvren walks around the horses checking them closely for wounds, he tries to scrabble together some bandages to keep them from being infected or the like.

Grim pulls the fruit from his bag and provides some to the beasts. "You'll get better. It'll just take some time and some care."
Hearing Aric & Alex, the young hunter snorts. "I doubt it. They were quite probably in service to this queen the Fae spoke about. I would expect these were gifts for helping her in some task. They could have been involved in hitting the caravan where our quarry was kidnapped."

Someone tie this fool up and wake him so we can interrogate him. I can cast a spell on him that will wrack him with pain if he does not answer. I only get one so let us choose carefully what we want to ask. I will cast it just before we wake him so he cannot resist.

The horses in general pass out love to everyone who is nice to them.
Dorvren their mouths are in pretty bad shape. But other than that everything is superficial.

Dorvren takes a quick search around to see if there are any herbs that he can make into a paste that might help sooth the pain.

You find a few by looking for the trees they would grow near and digging down. Luckily the rapid freezing has kept the herbs fresh.

This should help with the pain. Dorvren mashes them up and administers a poltice to the horses mouths.

No he is almost nine foot tall. He says he is a Prince of his kind. There are a few more trolls with him. They look more like trolls but don't use weapons.

No idea how many trolls. As for the lodge its up the trail bridge is beyond it. There's like 11 of us but some of us are sick the boss is tending to them makes everyone nervous cause he's a necromancer. Oh and theres the new girl too half orc.
