Going to bed. Can post a lot tomorrow. Bot me if you need to. 6 more touch attacks at +7(+6 once the bless is out) for 1d6+5 and will heal as needed with channels. Can't cast heal spells while holding the flame.

Well just for Expedite's sake why not stick with the Magus? Saves time
Plus all of us need to get back-ups ready

No joke, Icky! This adventure looks like a doozy. One retreat, and one character death before we can get into the building, lol...
Herolab looks a little ridiculous for making characters quicker. $10 each for the various add-ons? Mmmmmmm. I dunno. Right now I am using a notebook to start and then typing it up on the character screen.

I forewarned it was a meat grinder.
Varrel's in my other game, so I'll figure out a way to get him in when he comes up with his character. He knows he can play another magus if he wants.
As far as HeroLab is concerned the add-ons can get pricey. However, it makes putting characters together easy.

I just make all my characters by hand. Have no interest in spending money on something like Herolab. If I had the energy, I would just program it myself, does not seem that difficult. Mind you I have not done any programming in 10 years.
I know little about the Magus. One of 2 or three classes I have not thoroughly studied. Barbarian is one of the others I have not yet played.
Personally, I hate the format generated by Herolab. I find it to have a strange format with the stats in the middle. The horizontal formatting of the skills and stuff is strange. And finding equipment and stuff is a pain. Perhaps that is just me, but I would prefer doing it by hand and doing it in a format that is easy to read and modify as necessary.

Shine would like that. She is all about the fire of Sarenrae. :) You mentioned Bard. Look at Dawnflower Dervish. Its quite a powerful build with Dex modifier added to damage and high crit.
Icabhod - One thing to consider with Herolab is you allowed to have two licenses for your purchase. And you can add an additional license or two for like 10.00 each. A friend and I teamed up and bought it. We alternate buying the updates. Seems to work fine.

Waffling between White-Haired Witch(Toss foes around with my hair or pin them down for others to stab) and the Imodae(sp) cleric that StrRanger talked about with the Archon/Heroism subdomains who tanks.
In any event, we should fireball the ooze and move slow so Sweet can keep searching for hazards
Varrel Thrunebane |
Trait-
Race: Human. (Take alt favored class bonus +4 to beat SR of Outsiders. This is like Gtr Spell Penetration for 4HP. Take the others as HP or Skills)
Cleric of Imodae. Domains- Glory(Herosim):+2 to Channel DC, good domain spells),
Good (Archon)- Some awesome Paladin spells, touch of good is a decent buff if you are adjacent when the TWF full attacks!
THE real power is Aura of Heroism and Aura of Wrath, but unsure if this Game is gonna see 8th level.
Alternate ChannelingTake Bravery/Valor. It means your channel to heal allies is only worth 1/2 but you also buff our AC, Charge Attack rolls and grant new saves vs fear. CHANNEL TO HARM IS UNALTERED so you can blast away vs undead.
or
Evangelist Archetype you reduce your channel by 1/3 in exchange for SERMONIC PERFORMANCE which is basically INSPIRE COURAGE. That's the bard's best feature!! but you give up armor and spont healing!
Trait- Sacred Conduit (+1 Channel DC)
1-Alignment Channel, H-Selective Channel
2-
3-Power Attack
4-
5-Improved Channel or Extra Channel (depends if DC or Number of Uses you want)
6-
7-Quicken Channel (now you can bust out healing AND harm in the same round or double harm for a good blast)
Level 8 take holy Vindicator....
Also If you wanna be DIVINE CAPTAIN AMERICA!!
Dump on of your domains and take MENDEVAN CRUSADER.
and 2 bouns feats by 5th level. (go heavy armor and IMPROVED SHIELD BASH)
SCREW THE SWORD! BASH PEOPLE WITH A SHIELD!
Crusader and Evangelist can Stack!
STR Ranger |
ok.
starting to this 'DM said this was a meat grinder.
so need healing endurance? Healing Hex
Trait: Magical Lineage (Frostbite)
1Rime Spell
2
3Arcana-Arcane Accuracy, Extra Arcana: Familiar
4 Hex- Misfortune
5 Power Attack, extra arcana- hex arcana: Flight
6 Extra Arcana- Healing hex, Racial favored Bonus: Cackle.

Relived this 18 point buy and no stat dumping stuff is hard. I think I am a pretty good role player but get paranoid when things kill me.
In the other game I play with Baldwin, my char is a dwarf inquisitor with saves that make a paladin cry. Really strong. Then a lacedon pulled him under water and he damn near drowned!
I am trying REALLY hard to come up with something that can stand up a bit earlier.
That's why I am gonna take healing hex. At this level it acts as cure mod. WAY better than toughness. Plus I can use it vs undead or to heal my buddies.: )
Adriel Mistleaf |
OK, Here is my magus.
More HP, Better AC, Brings Healing and Cackles like a crazy person.
Just gotta massage the fluff a bit but mechanically and gear wise is ready to go. My familiar needs his skills massaged a bit but I can post if you guys and DM are ready for him.
Adriel Mistleaf |
Aaaaannnnd I'm done.
Was gonna go with a Raven but Adriel is a little crazy.
His Familiar is a tiny Pterosaur named Thrasher!!
BEWARE DIVE BOMBING LIZARDS!
Not sure if I will try it but thrasher can sudden swoop a touch attack at +9 to hit without provoking and has a AC17.
Not bad...
also checked the rules forum.
If I take a point in Linguistincs (which I have done) to learn a language, the familiar should learn it too. (This is an opinion not covered by the normal rules.)
the famailiar does have 8int and 8 int chars can learn different languages.
DM, is it cool for Thasher to UNDERSTAND common?
(I accept he doesn't have vocal cords to speak it, but he is as smart as a dumb human)
