Anyone entering the cave needs to make a Will Save DC17 or become paranoid. Eidolons and animal companions don't need to make saves.
You gain a -4 on all Will Saves and Charisma based checks. Cannot benefit from Aid Another action, nor willingly accept aid (including healing) from another creature without making a Will save.
This persists until otherwise notified.
You find the first room as you left it, dead plant in the corner. You head down the stairs and find the mud is still on the floor as it was. How far in does everyone go?
You can use the Roll20 map if you want, but its there for more reference now. I cleaned up the dead creatures that sank in the mud.

Jyord |

Jyord will cast owl's wisdom on anyone going in. He shifts into air elemental form and enters as well. Francis remains outside on guard duty.
will: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 12 + 2 = 15

Griff Olar |

Don't forget to walk around the sinkhole. and yes the mural on the fountain looks familiar, but I still can't place it... maybe it was in the map room.
int check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Griff already made his knowledge religion and history checks regarding the mural. He thinks the mural is homage to the one that gave the fountain, but can't quite place the female in it.
Where you saw it is not important, doesn't have any bearing on the story. Probably on the spire.
Those that enter find the rooms exactly as they left it.
If you move down the hall of mud, you have to make a second will save.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Goro makes both his Will saves as he shakes off the draw of Paranoia.
As Jyord and Goro move down the hall and into the other rooms to the fountain, everything is quiet and as you left it yesterday.

Mik PZ |

Mik will put on the medallion of Pharasma before entering the chamber with Juliver at his side as he holds her hand. He will have the ioun stone of Continual Light running prior to entering as well.
WIll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
We will then cautiously make our way to the fountain where Mik will drink first, showing Juliver that it is safe to drink, all the while hoping he doesn't turn into a female Dwarf.

Griff Olar |

I think that all of us have been effected by the paronoid effect enough to think that something might be wrong. Plus everyoun remember that the active spire grants an aditional +2 to all will saves.
P.S. could Juliver hurry up and drink from the fountain please.
Griff will be spending more of his spare time researching how this paranoid effect occur es. He knows that it has something to do with the tombs, and when people enter them. The question is HOW and WHY.
Spellcraft : 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22
Knowledge Arcane : 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33
Knowledge History : 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Juliver follows Mik into the Vault:
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
As she walks into the hall of Mud
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
She starts hallucinating,
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
but is able to keep focus and follows Mik a little closer than before. They walk up to the Fountain, Mik drinks, then Juliver hesitates for a second and drinks from the fountain. Her mind clears. She takes a look around, "Thank you, Mik. My mind is so much clearer now." Wait, wasn't he a she dwarf . . She shakes her head and looks at the fountain. "Now lets see what we have here. Isn't this interesting."
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 To recognize the elf in the mural. "Not sure who that is."
Knowledge History: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 For the Fountain.
"Wow! Do you realize what this is! It's the Argental Font. It's beautiful isn't it. This was given to the city of Saventh-Yhi at its Founding! It was given by the moon goddess Acavna for Saveth's Valor. Eando would love to see this."
After a few minutes of gawking and admiring the fountain. Mik and Juliver leave the Vault.
More to come on the Paranoia effect.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

I understand the same effects can be frustrating at times. You are getting better at avoiding it, but it's still going to affect you guys once in a while (like when you roll a natural 1 for your save).
If I were to do this over again, I'd add a scent to the areas with the effect. Hind site and all that, but good news, I'll go ahead and do that from this point forward.
The vaults had a similar smell; a musty smell similar to that of mold. This smell, and the affects have oddly been only in the vaults the portal crystals are contained. I remember Matt mentioning this on our last session, so I'll implement it here. Griff was the first to realize this and put a scarf around his nose and mouth before entering this last vault (during the encounter). He found that it helped with the smell and effect. Covering your mouth gives a +2 bonus vs. this effect.
Griff and Mik from your research: You know it's not a magical effect, probably supernatural. Changing your Knowledge check from Arcana to Planes You also realize this might actually be extra-planer (which would explain why the druid is still affected by it). You are not sure exactly what it is, or why it is in the crystal vaults.
I will also make it so that the other party members that aren't affected will automatically know those that are affected by it (once they leave their air elemental form that is). Once out of combat and out of the vaults, you can go see Jask at will provided you have the material component to get it removed, no Will save necessary. I don't want to get rid of the effect completely as it is part of the story, and there is more information on it out there . . . somewhere . . .

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Not sure if you guys are waiting for me, but I can move this along a bit. Let me know if there's something else you are doing today.
Mik and Juliver come walking out of the tunnel, Juliver still talking excitedly about the discovery. "It's said that Savith lived an extraordinarly long time, only drinking the purest of water. This must have been what they were talking about. . . . Once a year everyone in the city would line up to drink from the fountain to cure any aches, illnesses, and ailments that plagued them the year before. . . .I hope Eando gets a chance to see this . . . and on and on and on all the way back to camp.
You guys make it back to camp without incident. When you get there Amivor finds you guys and tells you that Gelik is missing. Gelik and two others went out exploring yesterday. I don't know where they went, it wasn't unusual for him to go. He's been one of our best field researchers. It isn't like him to stay out after dark, though. I have some of mine and Kasata's people looking for him now, headed up by Aerys. I'm not sending you guys after him, just wanted to give you a heads up so you can keep a lookout. Thanks. I see Juliver is back to her old self . . .
If you guys have the diamond dust, I'll assume Jyord and company will visit Jask at the Sargavan camp. If you don't have the diamond dust, I'll assume Griff uses up 2 teleports to go get some. Don't worry about rolling %dice. You've been there enough, you would only end up a few miles away at worst and can find your way without incident.
Who goes to see Jask with Jyord?
What is everyone else who isn't going to the camp doing?

Jyord |

When Jyord and whoever else get back to camp Jyord will update Amivor on the red mantis situation. He believes the red mantis have pushed their way into needing to be dealt with and recommends a full assault from the party and the shado-kar. Perhaps some fighters from our two groups, but we should leave plenty to defend the fort.

Goro Carrick |

After meeting with Joyrd while he delivers his report to Amivor, Goro heads out on his usual hunting trail to clear his mind and sharpen his skills for the coming battle.
Also Goro gives Griff 6gp for cold iron arrows for when he goes into town.

Griff Olar |

1. Griff will talk with Juliver on the way back to camp, getting as much info as possible. you don't have to tell me all of it this minute I can make knowledge rolls later Who and where is Eando are my most pressingquestions.
2. Does Amivor know the general location where Galik's party was going to explore?
3. Visiting Jask; Griff willl pull out his map and ask the guard to point out were the mantis camp was , and how long ago was the attack.
4. I agree Jyord, the mantis threat should be removed. Hey! Goro don't run off we may be kicking some but very shortly. I can re-memorize some spells so that we can get Jyord healed, it will take some time we could also get some other supplies, or wait until we deal with the Mantis punks and have some of their loot to spend[

Mik PZ |

As long as Juliver speaks in Elvish, Mik will enjoy the conversation with her. He will ask her about Eando.
Talking with the rest of the group, Mik also feels that it is likely the Red Mantis behind the disappearance of Galik's group but we should make sure. There are many dangers here and the Flying Monkeys are new to the area and may also be involved. Mik will ask Goro to track Galik to see where they went. Mik can also try to assist Goro in tracking Galik's group and if Mik takes 10, will have a 14.

1. I'll put together some information about Eando tomorrow. It's not immediately relevant.
2. Amivor tells you that Gelik was often doing his own thing. He wasn't sure what or where he was researching at the moment.
3. The location noted on the Saventh-Yhi map linked at the top of the page is the correct location. He tells you it's well covered and hidden from the air, but they were able to breach the front gate before the troglodyte attack.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Placed in spoiler just to keep the post compact
"Eando is a Pathfinder of rare reputation and honor, a man who has actually put the good of the civilized peoples of Golarion ahead of a personal agenda of discovery and self-aggrandizement; a rare thing indeed among my peers. Eando is in the greatest of dangers, and all of the Inner Sea Region with him. You must help me, for by doings so you help yourselves and all you hold dear.
"You see, Eando stumbled upon a subterranean city in the far north built ages ago by a strange race of snake men. But it wasn't a dead city; it was just asleep, and it was ready to wake up. the clues that Eando had been following had been laid by the serpentfolk themselves in the hope that some explorer would unwittingly stumble upon them and rouse them from their age-long slumber to rise and conquer an unprepared world. Eando only narrowly avoided doing just that and barely escaped with his life. When he reported back to the Pathfinder Society, Eando refused to publish his findings and discouraged anyone from retracing his steps, knowing the dangers if others should stumble upon that city and wake those creatures. For this he was ostracized from the Society, but Eando continued his researches on his own, and discovered something of even more immediate danger; the underground city to the north was not the only such slumbering city. Another city slept beneath Garund as well, and was already beginning to wake on its own. Eando gathered a group of like-minded Pathfinders, such as myself, and we set out to stop this newly discovered threat before it could engulf the unsuspecting folk of Garund.
"Following Eando's research, we entered certain deep caves in the Barrier Wall Mountains south of Thuvia. For weeks we followed the byways of the Darklands until at last we came to this new subterranean city, called Ilmurea. Unfortunately, it was much more lively than its sister city in the north and inhabited by numerous denizens. The serpentfolk there are on some sort of mission, under the leadership of a powerful priest. they ambushed us shortly after entering the city. Eando and our companions were captured, and only I managed to escape."

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Tried to get ZAO a chance to respond, but moving on . . .
After you guys get back to camp, Griff takes a quick jaunt to get some diamond dust for Jyord and cold iron arrows for Goro.
You go to see Jask, but instead get the rundown from the failed attack upon the Red Mantis.
I'm assuming you guys are waiting the one more day to visit Jask when he can resto Jyord before attacking, Goro and Mik can go ahead and do their scouting mission if they want. Make some tracking rolls.
That evening, just before sundown, Aerys and her search party come back, not with Gelik, but with another familiar face. Sasha is leading the group with her hands bound behind her. Aerys pushing her forward.
Aerys: "Look what the cat dragged in." Pushing Sasha forward toward the center of the group. "We found her in the jungle, following us. Says she knows where Gelik is, but will only tell you guys."

Griff Olar |

Then speak and be herd Griff waggels his eyebrows at her and think's to himself Or just take off your cloths in some sort of sexy dance! then shakes his head business you fool Gelik is in danger!
Please tell us what you know of Gelik.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Sasha: "First, I want your word that I will be released. I want you," Pointing at Griff, "when this is all over, to take me to Kalabuto and let me go. I don't want anything to do with the Red Mantis, I just want to disappear. I'm willing to tell you everything I know, and what they know about you."

Griff Olar |

Griff looks at Sasha with a discerning eye
sense motive: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Sasha is an ally from the start of this quest, I belive we can trust her. It would be nice to know what the mantis know about us.
Griff looks at the rest of his party Well gents...what do you say. Sasha has helped us in the past, and has never been fully happy with the Red Mantis. with Griff's back turned to Sasha

Jyord |

Griff Olar |

ALL right Sasha, we have a deal. Just so long as what you tell us is the truth
Griff will be using Sense Motive to determine if she is lieing, or bending the truth, or actually telling the truth. Griff has a 14 in sense motive, DM roll so I don't know the results please. Just say after each statement if I believe her or not.
also did she seem like she understood any of the Handjive?
I have a list of questions to ask as well, but she might answer them in due course.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Amivor and Kassata are there as well listening in.
Sasha: "This could take a while, could I have some water?" . . . She pauses for a moment to get a drink from whoever hands her a waterskin. . ."Thanks. First of all, the Red Mantis is under new leadership here in Saventh-Yhi. His name is Ivo Haigan. He's an up and comer in the ranks of the Red Mantis, and was apparently sent here after the Red Mantis leadership took the finding of the lost city more seriously. It was his idea to betray the Consortium and move camp. Chivane was against it and wanted to keep the Consortium as strategic allies, especially with the Pathfinders and Captains aligning themselves with each other. Unknown to Chivane, Ivo had already put the plan in motion. Chivane was almost killed during the assassination, as she was unaware of what was going on. Part of the plan was to move the camp as well. Chivane never made it back to camp, but later there was evidence she got what she wanted and left the city, the dead Troglodyte leader. After setting up the new camp, Ivo quickly went to work. When he heard the Troglodyte leader had been slain, he quickly took credit for it, enlisting himself as the new leader of the territory. Ivo periodically sent rogue missions out to scout what the other factions have been doing. They know more than you might think. Not that it's much of a secret, but they are aware of your charau-ka army and were nervous until they got an army of their own. These Troglodytes are strong, fierce killers, and loyal to Ivo as long as he remains the strongest. Part of these scouting missions have been also to reak some havoc among the weaker explorers, the assassinations of the Sargavan guards, and the capture of Gelik. The other two that were with Gelik were killed, but Gelik is on the capture list. They want information about you guys." . . . Looking at Francis's Ferocious Five? . . . "Since the attack from the Sargavan, Ivo has moved his more important points of operation to a small, hidden series of rooms at the bottom of the spire, though I believe they still rebuilt the front gate of the previous base for the main group. They are expecting retaliation, as a matter of fact, they're expecting a full assault with your gun-toting charau-ka army . . . and they're welcoming the assault. They believe they'll wipe them out. Ivo is smart, and can be charming when he needs to be. He's a little erratic in behavior, but don't underestimate him. . . .Sasha takes another drink of water . . ."Any questions? If not, I believe I've fulfilled my end of our bargain." She looks at each of the Five Monkeyteers? and awaits their response.

Griff Olar |

Questions from Goro's hit Squad
0. Why are you doing this?
1. Can you draw us a map of the mantis compound, and mark enemies positions, and traps?
2. Do they have any other prisoners, and who are they?
3. What sort of power's does Ivo have?
4. please explain more about what Chivane took from the trogladite leader?
5. How many trog's are in the camp, and how many Mantis, and any others?
5b. How many Spell casters?
6. What does the mantis know of our abilities?
7. Do you know of any spies in our camp?

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Sasha:
Sasha takes another drink of water as Griff asks his first question.
0: Sasaha holds up her left hand revealing her missing pinky finger. "A couple of you will remember this little gift from my mother as a reminder to my obligation to the Red Mantis. Well, I've tried and failed at being able to follow orders from anyone, let alone that crazy leader they have now, Ivo. I'm using this as a way out. It won't be hard, I'll disappear and make my own way. No more connections to the Red Mantis."
1: "The compound itself is, or at least was, well guarded, but does not contain any traps." Sasha draws a quick sketch of the encampment. "The area above the pens is just more ruins, some take quarters up there. The whole thing is covered extremely well by the jungle. The new hideout, I have not been to. I don't know what lies in there, but they haven't been there long."
2: "There were a handful of other prisoners from all camps, some the leaders have presumed dead or missing, but I wouldn't count on any of them being alive now, especially if they needed to move in a hurry."
3: Ivo is not only very charming, but a skilled and agile fighter. Focusing on both precision and power with his falcion."
4: "Chivane's whole purpose here was to find the Mantis Blade, a long lost relic of the Red Mantis Assassins of old. She came seeking favor in the ranks of the Red Mantis, and taking the blade back to them will surely do that.
5: "I cannot say how many troglodytes there are in the camp itself as they have been mostly outside guarding their territory. In the territory, after an initial battle with them, I'd say there's still about 150 to 200 roaming around. Maybe 5% are casters."
6: "The Mantis know a great deal of the five of you. You hear a slight hesitation in her voice. By the way, who's the elf and where's the dwarf? . . . and the badger as well. He's grown quite a bit since the shipwreck. And, yes, I've told them what I knew about, at least the 3 of you from the island. It's hard to hide the ability, and power you wield from those who are very adept at gaining information. You have been watched, from a distance, quite a bit."
7: "I know of none, but, then again, I wouldn't be the one to know. Spy missions, especially long-term ones, are between the leader, and the spy and no one else. As I scan the complex, I do not recognize anyone, but I'm not meant to either."
"Anything else?"

Jyord |

If Jyord is the dwarf in question, he's there. If you're talking about mik, nevermind.
Thank you Sasha. If Chivane took the blade, what is the Red Mantis purpose for staying in Saventh Yhi. What else are they after?

Gimble, The Storyteller |

If Jyord is the dwarf in question, he's there. If you're talking about mik, nevermind.
Thank you Sasha. If Chivane took the blade, what is the Red Mantis purpose for staying in Saventh Yhi. What else are they after?
The dwarf in question is sMik
Sasha: "That I do not know. There are plenty of riches to be found in the city, which is always a motivator, but there seems to be an ulterior motive for staying here."

Griff Olar |

A little point of clarification, the only reason I would have teliported today is fto get Jyord healed. If all we needed was diamond dust I still have a bunch from the last trip to town. Second, I was rereading through wizard's and preparing spells and I can't replace already memorized spells with other spells, only empty slots. So I'll need to memorize teliports tomorrow.
Thirdly, do we want to attemptthe raid tonight, or tommorow, My thought is the sooner the better, and I'm still full on spells, How's everyone else doing?

Gimble, The Storyteller |

That's fine if you didn't have to go to town to get diamond dust. A point of clarification: Jyord is still with the Paranoid condition. Jask was busy with the wounded and won't be able to help Jyord until tomorrow. Does anyone else have any more questions for Sasha?

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Toward the end of the the conversation with Sasha, Amivor pulls Kassata aside for a short discussion. After all the questioning is done:
Amivor: "I'd like to go with you to the Sargavan camp tomorrow. I'll speak with Havilar and see if they would like to join us up here in the keep. I think it best to consolidate everyone against the Red Mantis."

Gimble, The Storyteller |

What's your guys plans at this point. I'd like to get an idea so I can prepare for it over the holiday weekend. Are you doing anything else this evening? I'm assuming it's ok for Amivor and Kassata to go with you to the Sargavan camp in the morning and get Jyord's mind healed. Then what's the plan?

Jyord |

Jyord is good with the sargavans joining the camp. I also think it's a good idea to have extra security on sasha. Not because I think she'll betray us but i'm worried about red mantis retaliation.

Griff Olar |

I think that gathering all the info that we've gained today makes this a well spent day. that being said, I've still got a fulll complement of spells, and I think attacking the red mantis before they get a chance to regain spells, or other powers, would be advisable. If nothing else, we can thin out their ranks.some of you seem to think that our larger quest is on a time clock, so getting this done quickly would help.
I also think that we should leave the Shadacar behind to guard our camp.

Mik PZ |

Talking just to FFF, Mik says If they are apt a spying from a distance then they may know of our capture of Sasha and the information she can divulge. They may be expecting us to strike soon. I'm not certain we need to assault the whole camp and suggest we focus on the head of the praying mantis by going after Ivo. I think we might be better to assault the spire where they have set up their new base. We should get Sasha out of here as soon as we can, too.
Have we explored the spire that they have made into their new headquarters?
If we can teleport into the spire, bypassing any exterior traps, we may be able to catch Ivo off guard and leave the Mantis leaderless.
Turning towards Sasha, Mik says Assassin, how often do they go to the new base at the spire? How many go there besides Ivo?

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Have we explored the spire that they have made into their new headquarters?
You have not explored that district other than a few flyovers which don't reveal the entrance to the hideout. You do know from scouting and the Pathfinder and Free Captain scouts that it is the Temple District.

Mik PZ |

Our map only shows the location of 4 crystals, 3 found and 1 not yet found. Do we have the location of the other two crystals? Perhaps one of the crystals is in or near the spire of Ivo. Maybe two birds with one stone.
