Zeta's processors come up with the same analysis as Tamon: "I agree, they do not seem friendly at all".
Moving forward, and pulling the pin in the grenade it is has in hand, Zeta tries to see what is in the cart-- is there a gun mount, some explosives, their quarry?

The DC of the save is equal to 10 + half the grenade’s item level + your Dexterity modifier. Any penalty you take to your attack roll also applies to this save DC.

So why did those guys make their saves with those rolls? DC 11, and none of them except the cart made it, right?


The DC is 7, so they all make the roll. Base save DC of the grenade is 11, less 4 for the attack penalty

But there's no attack penalty. People say that a lot when there is cover, but they are wrong in doing so. There isn't an attack penalty, there is a cover bonus to AC. That spot may have an AC of 9, which Zeta hit, but there was no attack penalty to subtract from the grenade DC.


Yep went back and had a good look, happy with that, have adjusted the damage :)

Out of curiosity cause I can't find it anywhere but yet the pregens have it. Where does it say in the CRB where Grenades have a reflex for half.

Grenades:

Grenades are thrown weapons that detonate in an explosive
radius when they reach the target. A grenade’s listing on Table
7–7: Grenades shows its explosion radius. Some grenades have
additional effects, such as blinded or entangled, that apply
only to creatures in the explosion radius that fail a Reflex save
against the grenade. The DC of the save is equal to 10 + half the
grenade’s item level + your Dexterity modifier. Any penalty you
take to your attack roll also applies to this save DC.

The way I read it is that the DC is for the grenades special effects such as blinded, ect. Not damage.

Ruuk smiles behind his mask as the laser blasts bounce off of his heavy armor. He slides past the grease and whips another of the miners with his solar weapon.

Myr doesn't see the cart rolling down the tracks until its too late! They grunt with the impact and stumble backward as silver liquid begins to trickle down onto the mine floor. Myr attempts to slash at Tablot with their knife as he rolls passed, but the greivous wound causes them to flinch! They rush back towards the others in hopes of catching Talbot again before he can escape!

Tamon cries out as both bullets hit him hard, piercing his armor and entering his body before being stopped by his internal superstructure. It is only sheer luck that no organs or vital systems were destroyed. He decides to retreat and heal.

Assuming since Talbot is in a moving cart and using ranged weapons, I'm not subject to AoO's if I move out of threatened range. If I am subject to them, I'll instead take a guarded step away, then a Move action around the nearest corner.

He moves behind the nearest cover and prepares a healing serum. Two Move actions, I assume. If I can inject it this round I will.

Myr'iad manages to get another great shot off, "You'll never take me alive!" Talbot spits blood as he cries out in defiance. He fires off a return shot at Myr'iad!

Myr gets taken in the neck by the shot and drops to their knees in a spray of silver blood! The android takes a last ditch effort to survive and clamps their hand around the awful wound as they fall forward. More silver blood flows onto the ground, but somehow the angle puts enough pressure on the wound and the bleeding stops.

Oh, no worries Triskid! Myriad is Stable, so you guys do what you need to do to complete the mission! I love the fact that Starfinder included a way for us to auto Stabilize. My first PFS character death was due to a slew of poor stabilization attempts after taking a massive hit in the first round of combat.


Pangea runs through the tunnels to get ahead of the rapidly escaping Ex-Starfinder.

Somewhat in awe of, his very proficient Kasathas warrior companion; Harec decides to leave Ruuk alone with the with his quarry and pursue the escaping Talbot. As the dart literally hits 5ft wide of the cart large cart Talbot is escaping in Harec growls in frustration and throws down his acid dart rifle to the floor of the mine..Dammit Frickin' fracken! %#!**^ to the %$*8#!, I can't hit #@^* with this stupid rifle! Harec is visibly exasperated.

Myriad's eyes open and go through their brief cycle before changing back to their normal vibrant blue. Their gasp and reflexively touch their neck, but find the wound healed. "We thank you, shirren Triskid. Talbot shall not escape us." They stand and rush towards the entryway, the silver liquid coating the front of their face, neck, and clothing in a slightly disturbing manner. "Talbot, we are coming for you!" They shout, but the furious voice that echoes in the tunnels sounds more like an amalgamation of various voices, rather than normal androgynous voice of Myriad...

Move Action to Stand and Move action down the tunnel! Myriad currently has Cover against Talbot.
