Hyeon manages to locate the last explosive, which Mobius promptly disarms. The immediate threat is gone, but the assassin still lurks in the area somewhere...
Hyong Yeon Yeol |
Yeon Yeol looks at his comrades:
Can someone perhaps check a computer terminal what's behind those doors and if one has been opened lately? Else we probably have to check them. Alternatively we could ask the rest of the crew if they saw our suspect i guess.
He looks around at all the doors in hopes to get a hunch where she might have gone, or to determine where he would have gone in her place.

Lynn taps her lips with a finger "I'll check the security camera footage, see when Sanivvi was last out in the open somewhere. Maybe she's hiding somewhere right now? Anyone wanna check the bathrooms?"
She casually strolls to the security room (I'm assuming there is one for an event space like this), as if she's just going for a walk to get away from the party for a bit. Once she gets there, she pops her head in and says "Hi hi, Radaszam sent me to check the security footage for something. Nothing super serious. I'll just be a moment!"

Not sure which doors you mean Yeon Yeol. So I'll leave your request to one of our other computer experts.
DM Kludde |
There's doors the side of the hall, I'm not sure if it was that clear
Yeon Yeol has a good hunch the assassin might be elsewhere in the building, some place overlooking or overhearing the main hall.
Chirrk Do'Tak |
"So perhaps we fan out and search adjacent spaces and the airshafts. Someplace where the assassin can be hidden, can make an escape, and still trigger the explosives..." Chirrk will pick a side door that is out of the way or at the back of the room.
DM Kludde |
The group searches the back room, and finally find a room behind the podium, which serves as an AV control room for the sound stage. Waiting in the room is a woman with styled curly hair, holding some kind of remote control in her hand.
What? You are not supposed to be here. Nevermind, nobody will ever find the bodies. She says, with a vile smirk, and nobody will make it out alive.
Mobius and Hyeon Yeon Yeol moves faster than her, though.

Lynn surreptitiously saves a recording of Vixi's cutthroat line for future use. She slips into the AV room with a "Oh, there you are Trilly! Radaszam was looking for you, oh and you can turn yourself in any time." She gives the terrorist a slightly smug grin.
As Triloteya is obviously going to keep shooting her teammates, Lynn begins to hum a quiet tune, and then in harmony with her own humming ♫♪ she begins to sing ♫♪.
The subdued singing contrasts with the intensity of the firefight between Mobius, Vixi and Triloteya. As they continue to fight, Lynn's song works on the edges of Triloteya's consciousness, attempting to lull her into inaction.

Speaking of piles of burnt flesh, I think we've got one on our hands after Vixi and Mobius' attacks. Assuming Chirrk's attacks landed, that's 47 damage.
DM Kludde |
With the impact of Lynn's missiles, and a couple of well-aimed shots, the assassin slumps to the ground, no longer a threat. As the party returns to the hall, Zo seems to have run out of breath, but Luwazi is just about to steo up for her speech.
“I had planned for this evening’s announcement to be an exciting one, but I’ll admit this is not quite what I had in mind,” the First Seeker begins, her smile wry but determined. “Now I find my resolve only further galvanized.
“As many of you know, the First Seeker has the privilege and the responsibility for choosing the direction of the Starfinder Society’s research efforts. I have refrained from setting such a direction while we regroup and rebuild—an undertaking which all of you here have made possible. Also, the fact that Guidance has not yet chosen to formalize my election is another matter, but not one the Society can risk dwelling on. Now that the Society is again in a position to reach for the stars, I am pleased to formally announce the focus of our efforts during my tenure. Thanks to the tireless research of my associate Royo, we have identified a lead on understanding the Scoured Stars incident. And so, the Starfinder Society will continue researching the Scoured Stars, in the hopes of reuniting with our lost colleagues and better understanding this phenomenon.”
She pauses a moment, and meets the eyes of the adventurers: “And I already have highly qualified agents in mind to undertake the first mission!
There is a moment of surprised quiet over the room, and then the guests, starting with Ykris, begin to applaud in force. Iteration-177 regards the elected First Seeker with an indiscernible expression, slowly joining in on the applause. Royo nods enthusiastically, taking in some of the fanfare for his role in the announcement. Naiaj frantically appends work orders, noticeably perturbed by some news she has just received. Zo! actively backs away from the assembled group, still enthusiastically clapping but also making desperate calls to acquire televised rights to all Scoured Stars related endeavors.
That is the end of the mission - I will report and start preparing chronicles. Thank you all for playing!
Chirrk Do'Tak |
Yay! Another mission ended with an epic knife fight that his companions brought guns to :-) Thanks everyone - it was great adventuring with you!!
LINE-04 "Lynn" |
Lynn pops her head around the corner to watch Luwazi's speech. As the First Seeker starts, she whispers to the rest of the team "Nice! We did it. No explosions, no panic!"
During the speech she pulls out her datapad and takes a few pictures. Selfies with Luwazi in the background, and pics of the audience and guest reactions, for the most part. As the announcement nears its conclusion, she pulls aside the rest of the team and says "How about a pic to celebrate the occasion? And our great teamwork!" She holds the datapad aloft and snaps a quick picture with whoever is willing."I'll send you guys all a copy!"
With pictures taken she mills about in the crowd and listens to the last part of Luwazi's announcement. Nudging Chirrk and anyone else nearby, she whispers "Hehe, that's us right? Highly qualified! Hope to see you all for the next mission!"
Splitting off from the party, she spends the rest of the event milling about with the non-VIP guests and getting her name and music out there with enthusiasm!
Great group all! And thanks for running it for us Kludde!

Chirrk is forgoing a Day Job roll to check off a True Savior of Tasch block. Can you indicate that on this chronicle sheet? Thank you!!
True Savior of Tasch (limited use):
You can forgo making a day job roll to instead devote down time to assist with the growth of Tasch. Any time you opt to do so, check a box on this boon and make a note on the Chronicle sheet associated with that scenario, indicating you partook in this endeavor.

Lol @ those K-pop "stickers"!
Based on my prep for GMing this scenario, I think we met the requirements for +1 bonus reputation for both the Acquisitives and Second Seekers factions (described on page 17 in the pdf). Could you put those in to the chronicle? Thanks!

Yes, everyone earns +1 Acquisitive and +1 Second Seekers. My chronicle editor doesn't allow that to be added for now - I need some more time to break open my code and plug it in. For now, I would suggest you add it manually to your chronicle (refer to this post when anyone asks questions)
Vixi Trixen |
Also, my understanding from my own prep is that we can't have gotten those boons without getting the reputation, so it shouldn't be too odd either way

Works for me. I've just got to put some notes/links so I don't forget :>
Mobius Caslan |
I have a question regarding earning reputation. Do you spend fame in order to gain reputation? Really new to society play and this is one part that I don't really understand.
DM Kludde |
A lot of it is detailed in the organized play guide, but admittedly quite confusing. My understanding (please anyone correct if I'm wrong):
- Reputation is your standing with the various factions. Each adventure you slot a faction, and any reputation you gain, is gained with that faction. Additionally, you can gain specific reputation with a faction (as was the case here). In your case, you gained 2 Reputation with Dataphiles, 1 with Acquisitive, 1 with Second Seekers. Mobius is well-liked with these factions and people occasionally buy him a beer.
- Reputation is a lifetime total. The number can only go up, never down.
- Fame is your goodwill credit, which you can use to buy boons (they're listed in the OP guide). Fame can be gained (typically 1 or 2 per scenario), is not tied to a faction, and can be expended.
