Thank you for the invite, GM. As for ties to other characters, I'm not sure Rigel's circumstances feed into that very well. He literally just came to Sandpoint for the first time. Perhaps he met them on the road there, if anyone wants to tie in?

Looking forward to this game. I am actually out of town until Wednesday, so my posts will be sporadic until then. I'm not sure how my story would mash up. Syeira isn't from Sandpoint but is traveling that way towards Magnimar. I'm open to any ideas people might have.

Greetings folks. I am looking forward to his as well and appreciate the invite.
Ansley recently arrived in town, a cleric of Desna, making a trip at the command of her deceased religious mentor.
Ansley came to religion late in life after having been the captain of the town guard for many years. I have left what town it was blank so if anyone else is new to town I am happy to have the already know this old dwarf.
@Rigel Riddleport might not be a bad place for Ansley to be from if you like. While the characters may not know each other you may know of Ansley by either sight or reputation from when she ran the guard.
@GM Would you allow us to dot and delete in the Gameplay thread? This way the game will show up on our campaings tab.
Ansley Tanner
@Rigel: I kind of thought there could be humor there. She dosn't know you, she would have been at the end of her career in your earliest memory I would think, but you might know her or of her. Your call clearly.
I am also open to other ideas. As Ansley is over 150 years old there is plenty of opportunity if anyone wants a tie in or a casual knowledge. There is also the idea of having met on the road to Sandpoint.
Rigel Pordyras
I'm thinking that he would know of her, having tried to avoid her for several years in Riddleport, and that having her around in an adventuring capacity would be good fun as he started doing dubious tasks like picking locks. "Uhhh, beginner's luck?" Lol
Ansley Tanner
Perfect.
Now a question for the group. Ansley is an old warrior turned priest so my thought was a lvl 2 to take a dip in fighter to represent her more martial past. Thoughts? Anyone have a concern with my healing being one level behind?

So am I the only Sandpoint native here?
I have not gone over everyone's background yet.
oh and be careful Rigel, Noro has a thing for bards. but she is not a very girly type, and has a rough time dropping "subtle hints"
Syeira Cretu
I'm back in town now. I think you might be the only one from Sandpoint.
@Ansley I don't see any issue with you being a level behind on healing. Might work out to our favor with a bit more heavy hitters.
Ansley Tanner
Ok.
It also makes more sense then spending a feat for heavy armor and I really want her to have that option.
Ansley Tanner
Noro, I have been looking over your character and have a question because I don't want to make assumptions. Am I right to assume that you are focusing on unarmed combat?
I am not familiar with the build or some of the feats really.

yes I am focusing on unarmed and grappling. if you have any questions I will gladly provide a link to it or at least try to post it here.
however I have discovered a mistake on her sheet which needs to be corrected.
her unarmed damage while raging is only 1d3 not 1d6. it will be 1d6 after I take the brawling rage power, or level dip into brawler.

w00t! My first AP. Boy am I stoked.
Question for GM: Runt is a human with dwarfism. Would you mind if she was small in size?
Runt PbP
Short Description of character (more found in profile): Runt was brought up in a temple of Lamashtu in Sandpoint where she was trained as an inquisitor (monster tactician). Tired of being used as a football by her monstrous peers, she is looking for an excuse to set off on her own. And don't let her bend in faith fool you. After years of being smacked around by orcs, half-orcs, goblins, and all sorts of monstrosities she is ready to settle the score.
Rigel Pordyras
Runt, I'm not sure that there is a Temple of Lamashtu in Sandpoint. At least that the PC's know about. It might make more sense for it to be in Magnimar or Korvosa, or another locale. Winky wink.
Runt PbP
I thought about that. It is the sixth largest city in Varisia and there are plenty of monstrous types in the area so I figured it would have one. Even in a human dominated city a temple of Lamashtu has its place. I played in one scenario where the temple had a large leper contingency and handled funerals for normally outcast individuals.
I would not mind starting her elsewhere if the GM thinks it would be a better fit. At first I thought of putting her temple in the Mindspun Mountains, but I thought it would be easier to pull her in if she was part of a temple in Sandpoint. But either way Runt wants out in a bad way and I can see all kinds of reasons for her to pop up and it really affects her background in a minor way if her temple is elsewhere. Urglin would be my second choice if Sandpoint is not applicable.

I'm fine with her being small, but do it as a drawback so you can pick up another trait for it. As for the temple being in the actual city I think the comic series has one in the ruins around the outskirts of town, so that would work. Granted its a small temple, but a working one. Might even need clearing out as a side quest or something depending on how it goes
Runt PbP
I already gave Runt the 'foul brand' drawback. Small size is as much a bonus as a penalty.
Pros: +1 AC, +1 to hit, bonus to stealth, lighter equipment
Cons: less damage, combat maneuver penalties.
The bonuses probably outweigh the penalties. Considering the RP cost of humans even if it added 1 RP its not really going to break anything. Thanks for allowing it.
Ansley Tanner
Looks like an interesting group to be journeying with.
Any problem with Ansley having arrived in town a few weeks ago so she would be familiar with the local clerics and town notables to some degree. I would assume she would also check in with the sheriff given her background.

I think we could post in gameplay as we all gather in the dragon to get to know each other in character.
just a thought really
Syeira Cretu
Sounds good to me
Ansley Tanner
Barbarian, Cleric, Bard, Inquisitor and Sorcerer looks like a very nice mix. Can't wait to get rolling.
Syeira Cretu
Question: I gave my familiar the protector archetype. Do I benefit from alertness while the familiar is in tattoo form? What about the Loyal Bodyguard ability of the archetype?
Runt PbP
If everyone is okay with that I can lay the scene. Then we can start it up sunday on the path of adventure!
sounds good to me.

hey all, moving son into college this weekend. drove to NYC today. man I hate city traffic.
got checked into hotel. $25 to park really?
ok got to room. my iced tea does not fit into the fridge in the room. really?
anyway. will catch up soon.
Runt PbP
Did the move in thing on Wednesday with one kid, will be doing it with another on Sunday. Both live 90 minutes away. At least its not a huge drive and no hotel required.
Ansley Tanner
Lived in NYC for 15 years so not surprised at all by the price to park. College in NYC would be a blast though.
Sweet Tea? Why ruin good ice tead like that. :)
Lots of kids going to college. I went the other way mid-40's with a 1 year old lol.
Ansley Tanner
Four, oh my. My wife and I are not sure if we can handle 2! Of course that might just be the old in me coming out lol.
fatmanspencer
Alrighty. I like role-playing my character in the way that suits me, but I'm always on board with making your job easier if I can. :)
More than welcome to. I just know in the past gms say stuff that have no bearing on the rp, and its like well it was just flavor text. I have a plan or reason with my text. if only one of you picked up on it, it would have been good. if not, you only lost 10 gold. not major later levels, but early it can be a good hook
Runt PbP
bump?
Runt PbP
I had hoped that was the case and a little friendly bump would help. I'm just glad you did not crash into real life.
