Hi guys and welcome to our Star Wars West End mini adventure!

Thanks for your interest and I hope we will have a little bit of old school fun.

Here is the ruleset we will be using.

You are tried and true members of the Rebellion and you will begin the game in a rather familiar setting. I want to keep the where's and what's as a surprise for now but assume you are a members of a crack team led by the best the Rebellion has to offer and you are on a very crucial mission.

Just like all the other times in the past.

Its 4 ABY, most of you should play humans, but I will allow for half the party to be Aliens, and may even allow one member to be an Ewok, but I want that PC to play against type and play the Ewok actually seriously and not just a comic relief.

May The Force Be With You.

Male Imperial Purebred Human 13 th level bard/9 th level nightlife empressario/epic level chocolate fiend

Here are some possible templates you may use for the game. Not all are a matches but there are quite a few good ones.

Rebel SpecForce units would fit in well but are not necessary.

Please submit a character concept and backstory including why he/she/it/other joined the Rebellion and why you were hand picked for a special mission.

Force sensitivity restrictions?

Dark Archive

Male Imperial Purebred Human 13 th level bard/9 th level nightlife empressario/epic level chocolate fiend

You may be Force Sensitive.

You may not be a Jedi, Luke Skywalker is the last of the old Jedi (or the first of the New), and while that may change, the time has not yet come.

You may be Force Sensitive, but no outright Force powers.

PCs will start with 1 Force Point and 1D6 -1 Character Points.

Makes sense - wanted to double check, Man, I think I've got the edition up on the holocron, ah memories. :)

Now to come up with some crack demolitionist.

Dark Archive

Male Imperial Purebred Human 13 th level bard/9 th level nightlife empressario/epic level chocolate fiend

In Fantasy Flight's Imperial Assault demolitionists take out squads of Stormtroopers at a time.

You can use SpecForce Engineer as a fair start point.

And Baronsquee comes in strong with a great PC idea, he should be up and ready.

Next?

male Human (Corellian)/ Smoothtalking , somewhat ambitious entrepeneur/ Classy Smuggler / Sergeant (Supply Officer)[ Perception 3D+2]

This is a draft of Treskan Orask, still lacking some details as well as a proper character sheet and equipment, unfortunatly it is the best I can do today (and apart from the equipment he should be in a playable state.

Rough draft of the background:
Treskan Orask

Born and raised on Corellia with the typical (or even more) suave manners and appearance but lacking the well known Corelliant pride, he always felt a certain jelousy for the more glamorous lifestyle of the true core worlds.

Coming rom a family of engineers Treskan grew up in a comfortable middle class home that, to him soon felt simple and unfashionably poor. And while he had some talent with engineering, he always lacked the dedication to pick up the more academic traits of the craft.

While Treskan was a clever guy, his plans and ambitions always maxed out at some short term goal or dream, with him more often then not ending up with several shemes to gather money, favors or both just to keep dealing with the problems his original plans created to get him a few moments of glory, a better glider, the heart of a girl etc. leaving him without a real place in life.

After obtaining a small freighter, his next ambitious plan with the goal to get him to a life of decadence somewhere on, or close to Coruscant. Yeah, that went well... Treskan started to use his skills and contacts to provide hard to come by (and sometimes less than legal) luxuries to high ranking imperials loathing their position in the rim. Soon he was caught in a self created web of favors, debts and cons, but he was gaining money and profile faster than he ever thought possible.

Treskans closest friend a that time, a rather atypical Drall named Derisp who preferred a life among the stars to a life of science acted as his second in command (of two...), navigator and economical advior (as in: he took as much money as he could to keep it out of Treskans hands so they could pay for bare necessities, interests and wares) always scolded Treskan for his dealings with the Empire. He kept out of sight for most of the deals (as he knew most Imperials would dislike dealing with an alien).

Tragedy came during one of those deals. Short version: Treskan was busy greasing some high profile contacts, forgetting an important business deadline (not a rare occurance by any means. Treskan always enjoyed that 'greasing' part of his business mor than the 'business' part) and Derisp was unable to hire a human middle-man on short notice, so he dared to make the deal himself. The Imperial guards who were told to meet with Treskan to be handed some important personal delivery for the Imperial goernor, so the dealt with the 'larcenous rodent' they found in the freighters cargo room on the spot.

With the law unwilling or unable to even acknowledge any fault of the guards and the event even discrediting Treskans reputation, Treskan discovered something new to him – a dedication, powered by rage and grief, that was more important than his dreams of a high life, that even transcended the immediate goal to bring down one Imperial governor – and that led him to burn through his money and through a long line of favors to get in contact with the Alliance to bring down the Empire once and for all (that done, surely his deeds would be enough to put him in the life he always longed for – and if not, surely his services would still be required)

Monica was orphaned on Coruscant when her parents aircar was destroyed in a crash.

She grew up on the streets and learned to make or steal anything she needed (or wanted) to survive.

She fell in with a street gang but had to run away when she wouldn't kill people for them.

With her safety on the line she took the opportunity to enlist with the rebels and let them get her off world.

She is a new recruit.

Okay, let's see if I can get this put together right

Manji Roye, blowing his way into your hearts:

Manji certainly doesn't look like someone that would be picked for a Rebel commando operation, but that's part of the point. It's easy to stay fresh-face and unscarred in the era of bacta, especially when you haven't seen 30 standard years yet. He's seen a lot in that time, though.

A native of Coruscant, raised on Imperial propaganda and the victory in the Clone Wars, he gladly signed up for Imperial service to 'preserve Galactic peace' a year before regulations strictly allowed. He was not trained as a stalwart stormtrooper, but instead to be quiet, weapons of imbalanced destruction and terror. But it was for the good.

That held until the Empire's attack on Dac - a previously peaceful and long-time member of the Republic were to be placed into chains. He doesn't talk much of what happened there, but is always a bit uneasy among the Mon Cal members of the Alliance.

It was only after that failed campaign, when he had downtime to process and think about everything that had happened, that led to his change of heart. On his next assignment in the Mid Rim, he vanished, appearing with the Rebel cell he'd been tasked to capture.

He's relaxed a lot since then, and even can laugh a bit, in the two years since joining the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Maybe when the Galaxy is again united he can find something more constructive to do, but sadly the skills the Empire trained him with are just as valuable to the Rebels, at least for the foreseeable future.

I was debating Mon Cal tech, so threw a little of that in.

And getting a character sheet together, 7D of skills:

Background: Never been to Uba IV. Doesn't stop me being a true Ubese though. Member of Kettek Clan, maybe the last one off-world. Grudges die slowly with the Ubese. Well, they don't really die at all.

Those of the clan who lived away from the homeworld come together, once every ten years or so, for a grand hunt. To outsiders these seem like sedate affairs - Ubese aren't great talkers. But when the hunt's on, and the clan are moving as a single mind and a single body, it's a sight to behold.

I missed the grand hunt on Dressel two years back. Business elsewhere meant I couldn't get away. That's when the hunt ended up in a crossfire between the Empire and a smuggling ring. Star Destroyer flattened the smugglers' camp from orbit, and took out the whole hunt, who were in the same forest, at the time.

So I have no choice. The Empire goes onto the list. Signed up with the Rebellion on the condition that they could put high-ranking Imperials in my crosshairs.

Personality: Tight-lipped, secretive and bad with authority. His ability with his weapon and to remain motionless in camouflage for long periods has made him valuable to the Rebellion despite his discipline problems.

    background:

    Background:
Jer grew up the son of a small time shipping magnate on Scipio the youngest of three brothers. While his other brothers wanted to join their father on his expeditions and contract wrangling and haggling on other planets Jer was fascinated by Science and medicine and botany. His parents kept trying to coerce him into the family business but the moment he came of age he enlisted into imperial service.

Tall and broad shouldered with a sharp mind he found himself slated for a career amongst the elite, as a frontline medic. The work was hard and stressful and completely sastisfying... until he got the holo from his mother at home. His brothers and father had been killed but an imperial frigate quite sure that one of the family ships was secretly hauling supplies for the fledgeling rebel alliance.

He was crushed and spent the next five months convincing himself it was a terrible mistake...then he got the notice from his commander about his mothers arrest, this time caught very red handed smuggling medical supplies to the rebels. She was questioned and summarily executed. It was too much. The first moment he was able he went AWOL, somehow finding himself into rebel hands. He hasnt looked back. While not as trained a fighter as some of the others, his skill at patching people up in the heat of a fight and his bravery in doing so has caught the attention of more than one rebel officer, and so when this important mission comes calling, his name was drawn.

OK think I've settled on a specop infiltrator, I'll gt a profile up a bit later

This is M1-DA5 ("Midas"), a droid that Baronsquee and Aranna came up with.

    I already love/hate Midas

    Midas

    Spoiler:
    Dexterity 1D

    Knowledge 1D
    Alien Species: 5D
    Alien Species: Ithorians: 6D

    Mechanical 1D

    Perception 1D

    Strength 1D

    Technical 1D

    Security: Blast Door: 6D

Gunnery Interface (+2D to Vehicle Blasters)
    Heavy Grasper (+3D to Lifting)
Homemeade body armour (+2D to Strength to resist damage)
Humanoid Body (three arms, two legs)
    Several retractable manipulators (mostly broken)
    Fire extinguisher
Visual focal modulators (Look like a pair of spectacles, snap down into position over the droid's eyes whenever he takes on professor personality)
Expansive Repulsor Puck sports database (Allowing +10D checks on sports trivia)
Circular saw (works 1 in 3 times)

Built from scraps salvaged from three separate worlds, Midas has visible identifying parts from at least seven different droid types. Monica never knows what's going to happen once she's tinkered with his central core, and is sometimes as surprised as anyone with the results.

Midas has been through a series of personalities, but has never been completely memory-wiped. Therefore, inflections of crudely-removed personalities still persist, and show up in the currently dominant subroutines. For instance, while one of M1D-A5's central control programs has the identity of a scholar droid, the program has been mildly corrupted by some leftover military engineer droid code that sometimes makes his aloof yet mild manner seem unusually preoccupied with explosives, despite having no programming in demolitions.

While M1D-A5 changes regularly between two major programs, his central core programming has developed a single-minded focus on protecting 'The Maker'. With no real attachment to the Rebellion beyond this, M1D-A5 will spend more time protecting Monica than actively seeking to fulfill any mission.

For Midas Character points please roll 1D3 +1

    All Players please read

Please give yourselves a personal quote, something fitting yourselves and the Star Wars Galaxy. Yes, "I've got a bad feeling about this is" is accepted.

IMPORTANT. I have stated before, you are all hand picked for a special mission, you all are tried and true members of the Rebellion. No double agents :)

As this is a mini adventure, there will be a little more combat than most Star Wars games I used to run. You may all want to move your stats a little bit around before play. Dodge is a GREAT skill. Blaster and Melee skills will be in use. Just sayin.

As an incentive any PC ready and up for play by 7 PM EST tomorrow, Friday, about 24 hrs from now will get an extra Character point.

Vashh Lorimar already got his :)

Also your characters are more skilled than others as you have had experience add 1D to any one of your skills, or break it up and get three +1s.

Please add to your equipment list if you would like any or all of the following, players' choice

    Short range encrypted Comlink

Combat Helmet (+1 to Str to resist damage, -1 to all Dex skills)

Combat Vest (+1 to Str to resist damage, -1 to all Dex skills)

Camo Poncho (+1D to Sneak in Forrest surroundings)

    Any questions?

    ---

Treskan your character is a great fit for the game, do you speak with a Coruscanti accent? Or are you a proud Corellian and stick to your Regional tones?

    ---

Aranna and Baronsquee can both alternate running Midas to reflect the Droid's cabled up and put together persona. Aranna, please add one quirk of your choosing to Midas.

    ---

Vashh Lorimar your Blastech E-17d Sniper Rifle (5D) has a scope that adds +1D if you take a full round to focus on a shot and take no actions. It becomes +1D +2 if you take two full rounds.

Further if you take two full rounds your damage roll can bypass 1D of your target's armor (this does not affect Dodge).

Please read, some of you have not yet gotten back to me, please do so, as I have stated we are playing with the assumption all of the PC's have been members of the Rebellion for a few years, at least 4.

Please indicate how you were hand picked to be part of a special mission. What skills and talents can you bring to the table that would have made you one of the candidates for this particular mission.

Yeah, sorry, I could have quoted in character, but I will put the quote on the character profile.

Yes, please. Dungeon Master Player 15/Dungeon Master 13/Monk 2(I'm out of practice!)

I think I'll make a commando pilot, like in wraith squadron, but he's not a hot shot pilot despite his dreams and intentions, he's better on the ground than he thinks, but that's because he's a Balosar and has weird antennae that help him determine dangerous situations before they crop up. He tries to use his races ability in space battles to no avail, and he is very much a square peg in a round hole, trying to get his y wing to do things it cant(although the turret is useful) while complaining every time he is dirt side on a mission although he has undeniable skills there.

Still not quite ready, but the profile contains all information except for the final equipment.

Freehold - maybe load up on repulsorlift operation or swoop bike skills? That's also piloting and showcases their chops closer to the ground.

I can do both. Maybe that was the way out of the bad planet he lived on.

Hey, maybe I should ditch y-wing and go with SNOWSPEEDER PILOT!!!!

    Nailed it! :)

If your Mechanical is high enough, you'll still have the madd Y-wing skillz anyway by default. Plus, a 1D 'Starfighter Piloting: Y-Wing' is a really small cost to you (1/3 of a D) and allows you to still have that background to include in your character's development.

I think he'll be called "Deathstick" because of the stereotype associated with his race, because he thinks it makes him sound like a badass (despite the fact he was shot down in hoth on his first assignment- or would that make him too old?), and because it is ironic as he has zero kills.

That's a good point on specialization's virtues in a build.

Battle of Hoth was, what, 2 ABY, I think. Battle of Endor is 4 ABY. So I think you'll be good on that front.

Click!) Also, I find that access to a sizeable and comprehensive holo-library with a collection of up-to-date peer-reviewed academic journals to be most efficacious... (Whirrrrr... POP!) ...but mostly it's about the kneecaps."

Yeah, I figure he was an impressionistic kid at one point in his life and that when the first death star blew up(something NOONE saw coming), he decided to ply his repulsorlift/swoop bike skills for the rebellion instead of delivering deathsticks for his older brother's drug outfit. But by the time he signed up there were a THOUSAND kids just like him, who each thought they were the next hot new x-jock. The Rebellion put him where they needed him, and that was in transports.

Determined to do more than just be a glorified delivery boy(which reminded him too much of how he made money to get swoop bike parts on Balos), he applied to just about every fighter squadron that had an opening. Unfortunately for him, X-Wings were in short supply, and A and B wings were too experimental for an untested pilot. Not wanting to meet an ignomious end in a Z-95 headhunter(he isn't suicidal), he ended up with Rock Squadron, and was trained as a y-wing bomber pilot.

It wasn't the most glorious assignment. Rock Squadron was a name given to describe both the Y-Wings(tough ships but awkward in flight at best) and the tendency for the squadron to stay on the ground, called upon only in an emergency. Unlike most of the other pilots and even the commanding officer, he saw this as an opportunity to make more of himself, and he tinkered with his y-wing constantly. Coming up with a unique program that allowed the turret on the y-wing to select it's own targets and fire at an interval(pending DM approval), he was itching for his first dogfight. Unfortunately for him, Rock Squadron was transferred to Hoth, a snowy, sleepy planet, where they escorted ships to the planet's surface. The irony that he had transferred out of piloting transports and was now in a starfighter escorting them was not lost on him, and although he picked up a few skills while in the base itself(maybe more technical stuff), even the chipper, upbeat member of the squadron began to despair that he would ever see action.

Then the Empire came knocking on the door. A massive ground assault saw his squadron split up between escorting ships off world and aiding in the evacuation of the base. Drawing the short straw, he ended up on snowspeeder duty, and all he remembers of the biggest engagement of his life was a simultaneous exchange with a AT-AT that ended up wth his snowspeeder splashing down in the middle of nowhere. Still, both he and his gunner survived, and he recieved some accolades for escorting his fellow pilot back alive(maybe some survival skills?).

Any questions guys? I think we can start this evening as soon as all PCs have their Character sheets ready.

Does everyone understand the Wild die rule?

Male Human Slightly burnt-out Rebel Trooper (Ex-Impterial Commando) Perception 3D

Would you want us for wild die to do two roll sections?

    Example perception roll: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 2) + 2 = 9 wild die: 1d6 ⇒ 6

EDIT: And I guess this example I'd be rolling more from here, kind of burnt my luck on an example. wild die 2: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Which would give an 18 in this case.
