Aw, I'm sure the RNG will favor you soon enough Ordrik!
As Ordrik and Grimkell look in, the box appears empty to them. To Runa and Fizzlewhisk though, note that the snow around the chest seems piled up in a similar fashion as it had been over the rope!
Sorry Ordrik, got caught up with the others. You know it's a crossbow!
As Fizzlewhisk pokes and prods with the staff, it sinks in further than it appeared it should. Either the chest is propped up, or it is of very odd design!
"The snow is deeper 'round the chest. The box should be deeper, or there's something underneath." the gnome kneels down onto his knees and cautiously begins scooping away the snow from the chest.
Scooping away the excess snow, A small pile of goods begin to be produced. Found are the following
Five sets of leather armor, three sets of studded leather armor, an ornate chain shirt, two light wooden shields, seven longswords, two
spears, an ornate dagger, three light crossbows with a total of 25 bolts, and a small satchel of gold coins with 35 gold coins in it.
His curiosity piqued, Grimkell steps forward again, close enough so that he put his hand on Fizzlewhisk's shoulder as he bends down to look unto the hidden cache of equipment.
"Good question... maybe it was too heavy to carry?"
Fizzlewhisk, Annalisa and Ordrik, you hear it though it attempts to sneak up on you all. Glancing up near the path the bandits took to go further into the woods, it's beady eyes stare back, a hunger about it as it sizes up the party.
Surprise round, Fizzlewhisk, Annalisa, and Ordrik may make an action.
The thing bursts forth, rushing forward to attack one of the three that is spotted.

Surprise round
Ordrik seeing something slavering and coming out of the woods, drops the crossbow that he just picked up and draws his warhammer.
Hey people, heads up He yells
Round 1
Ordrik, looking at the creature. [b]Hey You beatie, pick on someone your own size.[/b[
He then moves to flank with Annalisa and the beast.If I can
and attempts to break it's back with his warhammer.
Having kept her sword out after the last attacks, Annalisa is ready to meet the creature head on:
Longsword1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Damage1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
But she is thrown by its sudden lunge for her and misses landing her blow, even as it misses sinking its teeth into her.

On my Turn:
Blood rage, free, draw sword as part of move action to engage and Standard action to attack. I have a 20' move.
Attack:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Longsword:1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Surprised by the ferocity of the attack, Marcian responds in kind. Dark red energy lights his eyes as he wills power forth from the depths of his being.
Ordrik and Annalisa rush forward, engaging the beast as it roars in anger that it's "sneaking" failed. But when Fizzlewhisk arrives, switchscythe in hand, it almost looks like it was a mighty blow. Sadly, the icy sheen on it's scales appear to be more than simply the result of it's environment!
Monster Init!:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Fizzlewhisk = 19
Annalisa = 16
Ordrik = 15
Runa = 10
Aðvinr = 5 (Fizzlewhisk through Aðvinr are BLOCK A)
Monster = 3
Marcian = 3
Grimkell = 3 @Grimkell: The creature looks to be about two meters long, a dragon like head but almost comically short forelimbs (think T-Rex short), but the thing has a coiled up like strength. A Knowledge (arcana) check may reveal more! Also, Marcian and Grimkell are BLOCK B.
I'll retain Marcian action unless they wish to retain it, but otherwise, BLOCK A may do their actions.
You recognize it as an Arctic Tatzlwyrm, a dreaded creature of the northern wastes. You exceeded the DC by 5, as well, so you may ask one spoilered question about it as well.
Striding towards the creature, Aðvinr begins an ancient primal chant. All who can hear it feel the instinctual fear of lesser beings huddled around a campfire, trying not to hear the sounds in the darkness as he focuses on the monster, instilling it with abject primeval terror.
Recovering from the surprise, Grimkell stares intently at the creature before letting out an inhuman shriek which sounds like at mixture of a yelling and wind gusts. His gaze unwavering, he then proceeds to walk toward the it reciting an old epic song in skald. As the others hear the rythm of the song, reminiscent of the sound of battle, they are filled with the desire to loose themselves in the fight, letting their instincts take over.
Move action to approach the creature, standard action to start raging song.
+2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +1 morale bonus on Will saving throws, but also take a –1 penalty to AC
It seems to me that Aneirin does not care for the exact turn order, letting us play in blocs: 1)All characters who have higher init than ennemy, 2) ennemy, 3) all characters who have lower init than ennemy.
