The entire room hums with energy. An immense column of silver and steel rises through the center of this tower, almost touching the ceiling nearly one hundred feet above, where it’s capped by an elaborate device much like an astrolabe of gold and glass. Stairs made of metal mesh round the perimeter of the tower clockwise before reaching a platform twenty feet off the ground. A C-shaped console occupies much of the platform. The control panel has four octagonal slots in its center panel that can each fit one sacred prism, allowing the weapon to draw on the prisms’ energy and use their charges. Firing the weapon requires the operators to simultaneously turn two dials located at opposite ends of the control panel—likely requiring two creatures to cooperate unless one were to have extraordinary reach.
Two demons are already in this chamber, they seem to be intent on ripping the weapon apart.

W: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Planes check to identify the demons. The black line at the top is the control panel on a balcony which is being torn apart by one of the demons while the other is guarding the steps. The balcony is 20 feet high.
The first demon starts ripping into the control panel. The other one taps into his abyssal rage and readies his heavy pick.

Barek's delaying until Weiman.
After undoing the claps around his neck, Barek unfurls his mechanical wings again and takes to the air.

![]() |

"Haste!" Weiman shouts as he casts Haste. He gathers all possible crystals, though if he has all, he'll look to Barek, "Upsies, upsies!"
If denied being picked up, he'll single move 40 feet to the control panel.

DR, spell-like abilities, and (maybe) how many more slams attacks does the panel have? If not that, special attacks. Will speak all answers.

DM Amazing Red |

Spell-likes - cause fear and shatter. No DR, but they resist fire, acid and cold. They can crit objects and their bite can make people uglier, i.e. penalty to charisma based checks. And they hate mirrors. Every round that the panel is being damaged adds to the number of charges that is required to make it work, so after this round, you need 19 charges to fire at full power, 16 to just use it at all.
As people take to the air or get ready to, Ollysta enters the room right behind you flanked by fellow crusaders. At the same time, a giant demon tears through the wall intent on destroying the weapon as well. "“Focus on the activating the weapon! I will hold off the demon for as long as I draw breath!”
The first demon continues smashing the panel. The second one charges Shinkeer.

Weiman will see if he's truly Well-Prepared enough for a mirror...
Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
Thanks to basically being a Kender being well-prepared (as per the feat of then same name), Weiman has a 10 gp mirror! "Ha, reflections! That will kill demons!" A standard to present it, I would assume? if not, point at the console one. "Fly us closer! I want to show them how pretty they are!"

DM Amazing Red |

I did not expect that at all... So basically while your holding that mirror, you get +5 to intimidate them and if you attack them while holding the mirror or get adjacent to them, they have to make a will save or spend their next turn breaking the mirror. Which may include breaking the holder of said mirror. I'll call it a standard to present it.

DM Amazing Red |

Shinkeer hits with all his attacks and Barek lands all but one arrow. Weiman somehow produces a mirror from out of nowhere and Erin charges!

Save the magic item, Barek killed it.
It takes all his shots, but Barek puts down the demon trying to smash the console.
Erin and Weiman can take their full turns.
The control panel also has several dozen labeled controls that are fairly intuitive, including switches labeled “safety” and “arm weapon,” dials labeled “activate weapon” and “open windows,” and various gauges that measure the state of the weapon’s systems and the energy available for use. Using the controls requires no special training, though a PC can operate the controls with finesse and a successful DC 15 Intelligence check or DC 20 Use Magic Device check to coax greater performance out of the weapon; this treats the weapon as having 1 additional charge available when being activated, plus 1 additional charge for every 5 points by which the PC exceeded the check’s DC.These procedures take time. Loading a sacred prism into one of the slots is a move action. One must then spend a full-round action operating the controls to begin arming the weapon, which provokes an attack of opportunity. The following round, PCs can turn the dials that fire the weapon as standard actions (turning both dials as a single standard action if a creature can reach them). A PC can perform any of these actions while averting his gaze, but increase the time taken to perform
an action by one step (move becomes a standard action, full-round becomes 2 rounds) for blind PCs.

Weiman dons a deeper, more HEROIC-sounding voice, "Wingman! Fly me to the console! I'll charge the magic rock things and probably not die in the process!" Weiman heroically points for a moment before reach to whatever the closest prism is that isn't full and charges his power as a full-round! Preferably, the one with 4 charges.
For the low, low price of one negative level, we have: 1d4 ⇒ 3 more charges! I'm gonna make up a little excel file for stones, just to keep track of how many we have.

Both Shinkeer and Barek resist the spell. But Erin feels the weight of all her sins(i.e. romping with tieflings) and vices wash over her, blinding and deafening her to her surroundings for 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 rounds. Ollysta walks up to you shortly after the weapon is fired.
“Since the attack on the Starrise Spire several months ago, the Pathfinder Society has been working tirelessly to assist the people of Nerosyan. While performing rescue missions, diplomatic assignments, and stealth operations, you Pathfinders have shouldered great responsibilities and realized even greater goals. I applaud all of you for your tireless pursuit in fighting for what is right. In this time of need, it is good to see a team such as yourselves work together to complete what was thought impossible. For this, Mendev—truly all of Avistan—shall remember you.”
Crusaders cheer you as you emerge from the tower and hastily send messages to inform Queen Galfrey of their success. With the tower reclaimed, the Pathfinder Society has an opportunity to examine an early crusade site and the notes of an innovative and battle-hardened scholar. The Mendevian Crusade acquires an invaluable fortress defended by a nearly unstoppable weapon. The discovery that Ghalcor’s creation is unable to move hardly dampens the crusaders’ spirits.
