Isis covertly peers inside the room. Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Stealth 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27
(Depending on the above outcome) Isis falls back to Sharlavaka's position and whispers "We can't let that door close after we've entered. Who wants to stay behind to hold it open and who's going in?" (I may change this action depending.)
Sharlavaka
Sharlavaka moved to the door to keep it open. With his cannon he could fight from the door, and he was the bulkiest and strongest - and if it tried springing shut the most likely to block it.
rando1000
Rando, we never determined what was in the room when Isis "peered covertly". Don't forget Darkvision and Low Light.
Several dark recesses in the wall, into which you can't see very far. You can inspect them when you get closer, if you wish to enter the room while Sharalvaka holds the door.
SerpentViolet
Isis chooses to take the risk and enters and carefully inspects the recesses while her reptilian comrade helps. She will use cover is applicable and restrict her moves to 20' each.
Stealth 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31, Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
rando1000
Isis moves completely silently into the small room, but there is no one to hear her. Cautiously, she approaches the recessed areas in the wall. Finding no traps, she sees the following:
1. A glass orb about the size of a large softball.
2. A rusty iron rod
3. An elven-made tiara
4. A broken glass vial
All the other recesses are empty.

IT BELONGS IN AN ELVEN MUSEUM.no joke, he'll probably do just that.
Esh takes the vesk's comment as a suggestion to test out that very theory. Directing magic into his eyes, he searches for arcane auras.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
The technomage scows underneath his mask, scooping up the items and placing them within his pack as gently as elvenly possible. "Something important. But we'll discuss it and it's proper fate later. Damn our luck, unscathed for thousands of years yet only now is a mass about to make contact. Far too much is about to be lost!"
SerpentViolet
Isis spoke over her comm. "Vera, can't you shoot it just enough to deflect its course?!" She managed to sprint at the same time.
Sharlavaka
"A trap?" Sharlavaka asked, checking the room visually before exiting. If they had somehow tripped magic that would summon a massive lump of space rock, then this would be the place to do so.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
"Ridiculous. The Dwarves were far too proud of themselves to lay in place a trap that would utterly destroy one of their fortresses. No, this is likely simply another joyous byproduct of being in the Drift."
Eshenvral Kothiavus
Esh will make sure all the items they've recovered are secure (including samples of the Gelatinous Cube), but is fine with getting out of dodge too.

Hey! Finally able to post again! I haven't been able to post or PM or anything (PMs sometimes worked, but then they didn't again... so frustrating) for like a week or so...
rando1000
OKAY! Looks like we're back guys!
The crew rushes back to the Revenge as quickly as they're able, given the terrain. With some sadness, you exit the ancient fortress, saying goodbye to who knows what treasures. But you did manage to rescue several powerful items to to help the Gardathir against the impending Azlanti hostilities.
Running onto the bridge with 2 minutes to spare, you find the engines ready. Blasting away, you watch in the rearview mirror as the fortress is destroyed.
Sharlavaka
The Vesk watched the asteroid hit with detachment. The things inside had not been his to mourn, after all. Losing them meant nothing to him. "Should check the site when the dust clears. Anything that survives the ages might survive this. Unlikely, but worth looking." Anything that did survive would be worth taking, though.
rando1000
"Should check the site when the dust clears. Anything that survives the ages might survive this. Unlikely, but worth looking." Anything that did survive would be worth taking, though.
Esh, make a sensors check when you get to it. There might well be an item or two you can pinpoint before returning.
rando1000
Okay, we were up, then down. I just sent each of you a PM requesting off-site contact information, to which I included my e-mail address. If you're comfortable doing so, I'd appreciate a response so we have a contingency plan in case the site suddenly craps out again.
rando1000
Upon arriving back in the Firehelm star system, you're once again greeted by a pitiful array of defense forces from Zothune.
However, as you approach your home planet, the small, tide-locked system in the sun's tiny habitable zone, Esh distinguishes two large platforms in space which were very much NOT there when you left.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
I know you asked me a WHILE ago to roll sensors, but I may as well do that now as the site crapped out right as I was getting ready...
Computers: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 12 + 1 = 24
May get somethign out of that, I don't know.
Durring the time since they've left the fortress, Esh has been spending a better part of his time devoted to identifying and cataloging the arcane items they obtained. The rest however, has been devoted to the intense study of the biological samples he took of the Gelatinous Cube. Mapping out it's genome, attempting to coax life back into it using various techniques and methods, and keeping at least half the sample in cold storage to be possibly auctioned off to an interested corporate buyer later.
I'll roll life science if you'd like me too.
Now that they were back in real space however, it seemed that something new happening.
"Captain," He spoke up. "There are two large and unidentified platforms above the planet."
Computers: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 1 = 18
Captain Olivia Quinn
"Wait, what? Can you contact star control?" Not sure if that's the correct term for those who handle landing and such on Zothune, but if it isn't, you'd all know that's what Quinn tends to say, as that was the term used back home.
rando1000

D'oh! I forgot. Yes, I'll retroactively add in another couple items for the cause.
Esh scans the platforms: they are about 5000' in width (size gargantuan), having about 240 HP. They're bristling with weapons, though those weapons are a little archaic. Among the most effective is a rail gun (8d4 damage).
They are currently unmanned, though there are small numbers of Dwarven lifesigns aboard.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
"It appears almost as if they were abandoned before we even arrived, yet I detect no signs of damage. The dwarves currently seem to be investigating..." The elf trails off, before stepping away from his screen and looking at the Android with a legitimately shocked expression.
"This was due that wish you composed within the fortress. ...It appears the Old Magic still exists after all. All the more reason to lamment that fortress's loss."
rando1000
As the ship is given clearance to approach by Zothune Ground Control (deep under Gardathir's management), you pull into the dim pink sky of a planet orbiting a red sun. This is home to you, but thanks to the unpredictable weather patterns of a tide-locked planet, the landscape near your home city is always in flux. Currently, you find the outskirts flooded, the city now on the shore of a rushing river as heat from FIrehelm melts a large glacier outside town.
Once docked, you meet with a Newsie, a young dwarven boy (or girl, hard to tell, really) who hands you a datachip with the latest news report. Inserting the chip into your reader, it gives you the location of Morgrym's current safehouse, a few blocks from the "shore."

"This was due that wish you composed within the fortress. ...It appears the Old Magic still exists after all. All the more reason to lamment that fortress's loss."
"Yes, I wished for three defense platforms. But where's the defense shield over the capital? Did I waste a wish on impossible technology?"she wondered aloud.
SerpentViolet
"Maybe they haven't figured out how to turn it on yet?" Irina says as we walk to the meetup location.
Isis showed a little emotion. "I hope that's all." Without attempting sarcasm she added "I didn't wish for instruction manuals."
Eshenvral Kothiavus
"Then it shall fall on us to teach these imbeciles how their new toys work. Speaking of which, there is the mater of what we actually intend to donate to their 'cause'. A few of these pieces would highly benefit us personally, while I know several collectors who would pay handsomely for the others. The deck of cards themselves... That alone could possibly afford us our own private moon." Esh says, speaking through a telepathically linked spell rather then words. He didn't wish some common prole go overhear him talking about such powerful artifacts.
Sharlavaka
Sharlavaka tilted his head at the idea. He wasn't sure what he'd do with a moon, but he was intrigued to find out. "What granted these wishes? Many old tales of wishes being turned." He glanced at the water again.
Captain Olivia Quinn
"I've never known any good to come from a magical wish. In fact, in the Milky Way Galaxy, the magic is one of the most forbidden magics."
rando1000
The new safehouse is an old garage, it's front entrance somewhat flooded from the new "river" that flows past from the melting glacier. Sloshing into the door, you find Morgrym deep into a mug of ale, sitting at an overly messy desk, a 50 year old computer terminal taking up the bulk.
"Ah, back too soon, sadly. Were you able to actually find the fortress of Sidorlug?"
