Sorry, been at a con all weekend. Won't be fully home til tomorrow night, but:
Zora informs Miji of the nature of his sword. "Certainly it is yours to use if you wish it, though the Society will lay claim to it eventually as they do."
Letting Miji entertain himself with drying off the new sword, Zora strides up the hallway to see what lies ahead. Moved on map

GM Qwerty |

apologies- had some live game responsibilities to run this weekend
After discovering the sword the group searches the next room. Racks for bows, crossbows, and other ranged weapons line the southern walls of the chamber. Receptacles for ammunition stand between the racks. A large arcane mark glows on the floor atop a raised platform.
Remembering the orders that sent them on this mission the group recalls they have to find out what magiks the poem refers to as a protection against the influence of the Whispering Tyrant. The answer may be in the room with the golem...

Segray nods gravely. "I hoped we didn't have to fight this creature. Let's get on with it."
Dark Prince Asmodeus. Guide our steps.

![]() |

Balomar nods and heads back to the room with the golem.

![]() |

Delio shrugs. "Of course. It is as the famed playwright observed, a golem found in the early part of exploration must be fought before the exploration can be completed."

![]() |

Segray follows as well, shrugging.

![]() |

"I suppose the wisest course of action will be to prepare with magic before we essay the fight, attack it all at once, and finish it off with ranged attacks. How wise do you feel, good Miji?"

![]() |

Zora wordlessly moves after the others, seeing the golem's destruction as a necessity but neither positive nor negative beyond that.
"A moment," she murmurs, and touches Miji with the same spell as before. Shield of Faith, +2 deflection AC for Miji
Drawing her wand of bless, she invokes the spell upon her colleagues as they rush in to defeat the golem. +1 morale to attacks

![]() |

Balomar steps into the room, and gives a nod to the patrolling golem, ever prepared to strike the creature should it attack him or an ally.

After recovering from the explosions the group recovers. Looking around the room the group finds painted walls of activity and what can only be coded words in poems...
By examining a holy symbol of Shizuru on the ground near a statue you determine that it was made from silver, and you discern its construction indicates it was designed for use as part of a holy ritual.
Looking over the artwork reveals the previous deceased samurai bodies died in a burst of holy energy.
Looking over the artwork and wall markings reveals what you initially thought was simple erosion on the walls of the hero’s tomb is in fact the result of a concentrated burst of holy energy.
You notice a discarded piece of vellum in the corner of one of the rooms. The vellum is fragile but provides a partial account of the samurai’s holy ritual.
You notice a small cubbyhole near the ceiling in this room behind one of the statues, with a bronze object peeking out of it. A safe and steady climb easily retrieves the object. The bronze object is an embossed prayer to Shizuru. The prayer is a warrior’s plea, asking for strength and courage when facing the final moments of life.
In order to seal away a particularly troubling pocket of necromantic energy, one of the Yohanatotsu sisters performed a powerful holy ritual, sacrificing her own life to fuel a ward. The ward held for centuries, but recent orcish raiders disrupted it, threatening to unleash the necromantic force once again. Repeating the ritual in the first tomb discovered (star on map) should restore the ward over the negative energy.

Delio rolls out of the way of most of the explosion, taking only a few scrapes from flying shards of ice. As he comes up, he spots a fragile piece of vellum discarded in one corner of the room, and carefully retrieves it. "I suppose anything we find in a place like this has a tale behind it. This seems to describe some sort of ritual, which may make its tale more interesting than most."
How does the CON damage work with cold resistance, GM?

Weathering the last blast, Zora stands a moment, feeling the cold as though it were the chill of the grave. As the others explain the history, she nods, smiling faintly even, pleased to be traveling with such knowledgeable souls.

The party gleans enough information about the ritual to purify the site and restore the ward. The conduct the ritual take any last notes regarding the crypt and begin the 6 day journey back to report to VC Besnik in Lastwall.
Besnik listens to the retelling of the adventure and says, "“I knew you would triumph! Just goes to show I picked the right pathfinders to seek out adventure while unknown dangers lurked. There could have been almost anything there! Go and rest while I put our report together for the Ten. Surely, this addition to the Chronicles will put Uscalin Lodge on the map."
“Though I may joke about the crusaders, they play a vital part in the service of good. You, too, have done important work today. You have removed a pressing danger and helped the spirit of an ancient hero find rest. Well done, Pathfinders. I hope you are as proud of yourselves as I am of you.”
That is it. Both Primary and Secondary conditions met. Please ensure you provided all the right info and day job rolls in the discussion tab and I will crank out the chronicles. Many thanks.
