Well... all I can say is: good job there's no attitude worse than hostile...
"Yeah!"
'Ah... everything is Pezock's fault?!' the tengu screeches, his tone dripping with sarcasm, 'You approach Pezock's home with weapons drawn... in the company of a cannibal... and it's all Pezock's fault when he waves a claw over your man's head?!' he spits blood and mutters in what is presumably his native tongue (and presumably isn't saying anything nice...).
"Murders?!? You tried to take Tony's head off!.. Seems to me, you drew steel first."
'Lies!' cries Pezock, 'Your man still has his head - a tengu doesn't miss with a sword unless he wants to! And your people "drew steel" first! You evil, deceptive, witch-elf!' he spits again, clutching his wound...
"..And I am no brigand! I do have Some standards!"
'Pezock is yet to see any evidence...' snarls the tengu, as he leaps for Shisa! A swipe with his broken dagger opens a nasty wound across the half-elf's face, and a rake with his sharp beak tears her shirt and rips open her shoulder! Double criticals! I'll never see the like as a DM again... and both on pathetic base damage attacks too... ho hum... anyway, Shisa takes a total of 10 Hit Points damage.
"I believe we got off to the wrong start Bird-Man. If you could all sheathe your blades, we may be able to have a discussion like civilized folk, instead of trying to take each others head's off with steel or claw. But first, let us treat that wound..."
Pezock ceases his retributive assault on Shisa for the moment, but eyes the group warily, broken dagger raised... he doesn't seem keen on letting Aerodus get anywhere near him...
'Get out!' he yells, 'All of you!'
See why the order people went in was so important to that one... ;)
Diplomacy doesn't normally work in combat... but he didn't want a fight in the first place (evil witch-elf! ;p)... so Aerodus manages to work his charms and calm him back down to mere Unfriendly... for the moment. Home invasions and attempted murder don't go down well with people... who knew? ;)

The stinging pain in her face and the burning pain in her shoulder begin to make Shisa think she may have underestimated the tengu's abilities given the severity of the wound she had inflicted. Her brow furrows as she grips her short sword more tightly and starts to back up toward the door.
Keeping her weapon at the ready, she glances quickly to the others out of the corner of her eyes. "Great, my luck I'll get rabies, and this my only shirt," she says sarcastically. "Now I can add getting pecked to my growing list of isle ailments."
Taking a huge chance, she lowers her sword slightly. To the others, she says, "Blood for blood. Let us take our leave. There's been enough shed this day and we've ways to go."
With the door to her back, she looks at the tengu before speaking, "If I were evil, I'd continue the fight. If I were a witch, I'd have bespelled you. I am neither."
Turning abruptly, she leaves the shell of the crab and steps out into the sunlight.

Shisa takes 11 Hit Points of damage and drops like a stone... learning that she's not the only one on the island who can Sneak Attack... ;)

With a stern "Cover me!" To the others, Aerodus will rush forward, shield raised to ward off any further missiles from the curtain. Upon reaching Shisa's position will whisper "Don't worry, I'll get you out of this, Aerodus Whiteblade keeps his promises!" partly to her, partly to himself as he drags Shisa backwards towards the group, using his shield to cover their retreat.

Taking the proffered dagger, she looks it over. "Nice balance for a broken blade," she says before throwing it toward the back of the crab. "He may need it later."

After about an hour and a half's more trudging along the beach the exporers come to a four-hundred-foot long swath of slippery, seaweed-covered rocks which rise a little out of the sea, forming a causeway between the main island and a smaller, jungle-covered, island beyond. From the map Marik's been maintaining, the 'wrong island' where the 'little men' dwell lies to the north of the one beyond the causeway - so it looks like the group will need to cross the causeway and the jungle-covered island, then cross to the 'wrong island' before getting anywhere near where the Nightvoice's possible location...
On the other hand, lodged on some rocks, maybe a half-mile out to sea to the south-west of the point the group find themselves on, lies the wreck of a ship... although Gelik says straight away that it's not the right type to be the Nightvoice...

She pauses from time to time to nudge larger clumps of seaweed off of the rocks to make it easier for those behind her. With bow in hand, her eyes continually travel between rocks and the smaller island ahead.

Shisa takes the lead across the causeway...
Not necessarily her choice... Tony already stated he's heading across, and you can't just invalidate his character actions with yours! Unless there's some sort of race going on... ;)
The base Acrobatics DC is 7, so it looks like even Aerodus McClanky can make it across by taking 10... as long as he's moving no more than half speed. Full speed it becomes DC 12.
With the tide out crossing the causeway proves simple enough... even though it's quite the slog scrambling over the seaweed-covered, uneven, rocks which form it. By the time everyone's across, the sun's once more sinking below the horizon as another day closes on the Shiv...
Based on Marik's map, the small jungle-covered 'sub-island' the group find themselves on is a couple of miles long... which will probably take around four hours to get through, based on past experience of jungle-travel... although by now thoughts are probably turning to camp, food, and rest for the night. In fact, Gelik has been saying so... repeatedly... in less and less subtle fashion... for the entire causeway crossing...

Maybe even a breach of his paladin's code? ;)

... but Aerodus the not-so-drowned saves the day by using the Aid Another action to, at least, bump the group's total to a 10... Give it a few more levels and he'll have them taking 10 on stuff too, mark my words! ;)
The group take a little time to set up camp at the tree line, Taki starting a fire to prepare some food, as Gelik writes in his journal, and Shisa searches for the 'ghost captain's trinket'...

Ok Definetly forget the Armor (Blasted english spelling!! If I spell it armour do I get reduced armor check penalties?)
Seeing the other's working, Aerodus try and make himself look busy by re-arranging his bed roll a few times, before rummaging through his things (sans armoUr) and drawing forth 'Blinky' the ever faithful lantern archon (in training).
"I'll take the night watch." he offers, before beginning maintenance on his meager amount of belongings.

Chagrined, Tony rummages around before pulling out the locket and handing it back to Shisa.
"Ah, terribly sorry. I got caught up in events and just forgot. If needed I also have that ships logbook as well."

Looking over at Tony, she smiles. "No worries Tony, feel free to hang on to it. As long as we still have it, that's all that matters. None of us know whether or not it will prove useful for more than just selling once we get back."
Stuffing the rest of her gear back into her pack along with the box from the ship, she pulls out a dagger and spends a moment looking it over. She tests the balance after wiping sand from it, then inspects its edge to see if it's still sharp.

No... but you get to feel a smug sense of satisfaction for using the Queen's English!
Eventually, once fed, people start to settle down to rest, Aerodus taking the first watch (since no-one else offered an opinion on the matter...).
'Mutineer! Traitor! At least let me see m'beloved Aeshamara one last time...'

            Well... here goes nothing....
With a soft curse, Aerodus will dig through Shisa's pack (Hope she didn't trap it) for the box/locket. if he can find it... will open it up again to make sure the name is right and the picture is there.
Trinket in hand and Blinky making its patrol around Aerodus's head, he strides forth to confront the captain. Thrusting the trinket before him (open): "Here is your trinket spirit! Go to your slumber, and trouble us no more!!
Although by the end it may wake some people up....

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Marik slumbers peacefully, waiting to be woken up for his turn on watch.
