Son of a retired mendevian crusader, Aerodus was raised on tales of chivalry, heroics and valor. His eariest nights of memory were spent upon his father's knee as he relived his days of glory; never one to interupt his elder he soon could repeat them by rote, complete with the parrys, thrusts and jabs. Once old enough, he too was was spending his time slaying imaginary demons whilst riding a figmentary steed. Yet all the while he played hero he would hear the voice of his father, reminding him that it was not only the might of the sword arm, but also the strength of heart that let man triumph against demons. As he grew up he followed in his father's footsteps, joined the church of iomedae and signed up to serve in the mendevian crusades.
During his tour with the Mendevian Crusaders, he met upon a brave warrior; Bu'Tau 'Redshirt', so named due to the fact that by the end of any battle, he would be soaked in blood, with either that of his enemy or his own. A fierce fighter and a tenacious ally, Aerodus found a good friend in Bu'Tau,and could be found side by side not only in camp, but also in the thick of battle. However, one fateful day their unit was cut off from the rest of their troop and with enemies swiftly advancing upon their position; there was only one possible way out: Someone would need to become a suicidal rear guard, buying time for the remaining to take the wounded to safety. Bu'Tau volunteered for the task, forcing Aerodus to swear to return his family heirloom (a tigertooth necklace) back to his loved ones, and tell them of how he fell in righteous battle.
Finishing his tour and mourning his friend, he spent his funds first for the trip home to Cheliax, to inform his family of his travels, adventures and duty; but also to trade stories of his own with his father. Once he bid his farewell to his family, he headed to the nearest port of Kintargo, booked passage to the colony of Sargava and was on his way to Bu'Tau's family to fulfill his oath.
