Ok, make a Culture check or relevant profession check to figure out a place to send her. Anyone have Profession (tour guide) or (travel agent)?
Itch
|
Culture: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Itch's ears flick back and forth. "Hmm, interesting idea. I do know of a few backwater places that no one would be shocked if someone just disappeared. A place on the darkside of Verces. A little craphole mining town on a moon of Eox. Maybe a few more than the law doesn't dare poke hard at. Lots of people vanish everyday and no one cares."
Itch is going to try and use his knowledge of law enforcement to reduce the DC of the culture check by 5 for him.
Rastar
|
"Might be easiest to send her to Eox. Not too many people go there. Of course, that means that the few live ones kinda stick out. It would be difficult to pull that one off. Verces is likely a better choice. Or Akiton. No real law there, and all the mining colonies and traveling cities would be good to hide in."
"We can make that work. Or we can find a morgue and persuade a morgue attendant to help us out. Use some of those credit sticks we got from the last job, combined with a little physical persuasion to make it stick. Either way, time is running out. Let's make a decision and move."
Radiance Dysnomia
|
"I like the idea of Akiton! It's close so it'll be cheap and is a likely place to run to but it would be hard to track some one down, assuming they aren't making waves!"
Radiance thinks for a second, before digging out her comms device. "There's a few people who watch the holo-sermons I do who live on Akiton, they might be willing to *cough* tell a few, uuhhh, white lies? Especially if I tell them it's for a good cause..."
Flat roll: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Not sure how usable her evangelist profession, if she can then with the +7 that should be a 17. If it's not then any bluff, intimidate or diplomacy check would add nothing for a 10.
Speck Zezener

"Nah, we don't actually need to buy a ticket for this... I'm sure between Lola, Idomyll and myself, we can hack into the passenger manifest to insert a Ceren and her oh-so-innocent nephew."
Computer check? Aid possible?
"Oh, but if someone could dress up like the two of them and linger at the spaceport, and let the CCTV capture the supposed image of the two of them there, that would be even better!"
Idomyll
|
"I have an amusing image of Radiance dressed as an old lady walking around the space port. 'LOOK UPON ME HEATHENS FOR I AM CEREN MASTER OF THE HACKING.' I am sure it would work fine." the mechanic chuckled in jest. "Ok so let's stop firing our thrusters on low burn and get it done."
GM Paladin
|
OK we can do this! It's not in the scenario but GMs are explicitly instructed to allow and reward creative solutions. We'll still need a fake identity set up for Ceren here on Absalom station, since she's not in the mood to actually move to Akiton.
Itch is able to identify an appropriate range of destinations for Ceren to notionally flee to. Radiance feels confident she can make some contacts on Akiton to help muddy the waters and give the impression that Ceren arrived there. A computer check to hack in to the passenger manifest would be great. Aid is possible. Ceren will aid, giving a +2 to any attempts. A Disguise check to have someone appear to get on the flight to Akiton would also be useful. Who's going to do that?
GM Paladin
|
You still need to do this also:
Meanwhile, a new identity needs to be set up for Ceren if she wants to survive her false death. Skills that can help with this include Bluff, Culture, or Disguise to create a solid new alias, Diplomacy to convince people to act as allies or contacts, and a Profession check to get a new job for her, though not all fields are necessarily suitable for her.
Speck has identified a job she could take after changing her identity.
Speck Zezener

Looks like Speck's got the highest computer skill (+9).
Speck cracks it knuckes as he gets down to work. He laments the rather primitive set-up that Ceren has, but one thing he has learnt is that when life gives you tomatoes, you make salsa. He dives into the network and weaves his way into the spacedock's systems.
computers: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
GM Paladin

Speck is easily able to infiltrate PactWorldSpacelines and create a fake entry in a passenger manifest. Ceren watches with respect.
Ok, passenger listing is complete. Who's doing the disguise if you want to go that route?

"Have Itch make up me or Radiance to look like Ceren, I guess. Radiance can probably pull off the bluff better than I could, if she's caught."

"Have Itch make up me or Radiance to look like Ceren, I guess. Radiance can probably pull off the bluff better than I could, if she's caught."
Radiance frowns for a second, thinking. "Hmm, we should probably have Itch play Ceren, he's about the right height for an old lady, but either you or I could play Jubair... Here let's just play 'rock, paper, scissors' over it."
1-rock, 2-scissors, 3-paper: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Second time just in case: 1d3 ⇒ 1
After things get decided, Radiance digs through the clothes the two aren't going to take with them and picks out an outfit that covers the most amount of skin and has a hood.

"Both of you would be horrible at pulling off a con like that. Fortunately, all you'd have to do is be seen on camera." Itch scratches his nose for a moment.
"Let me go scrounge up some supplies and I'll see what I can do. A Holoskin would be better for this, but I'll have to make do with what I can find."
Itch heads out and buys a few supplies. He returns and points at Radiance. "Come on, let's see what we can do. Plus, it'll be fun to see you try and pull this off."
Disguise: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Ninja'ed by Radiance. But that plan works too. Itch is buying a Disguise kit worth of supplies.
GM Paladin
|
OK so that's a 25 total on disguise, nice!
Careful disguising work makes whichever subjects are chosen a reasonable facsimile of Ceren and Jubair.
I forgot to include that a computers check is also useful in forging papers for Ceren's new identity.
Speck Zezener
|
"Whew, looks like we're almost done here." Speck then smacks himself on his head. "But of course! They two of them need new identification." He dives back into the computer, typing furiously away. "Hmm, names, names, names... How about Bit, and Dot?" Speck displays the usual ysoki's propensity for short and simple, albeit not very appropriate, names.

Radiance, pulling off the last of Jubair's clothing, looks over Speck's shoulder. "I can see dot working for Ceren, but maybe we should do a different name for Jubair? He's not exactly small..."
Wish I could aid that roll, but no ranks in computers.
Itch
|
Itch nods when Speck suggests 'Bit' and 'Dot', but then frowns as Radiance comments on Jubair's size. "Yeah, guess that might not fit. More of a Yoski name... Let's see. He was pretty excited about those tomatos. What about Tomi?"
Idomyll
|
"I am not doing a whole lot, Let me help you with that Speck." Idomyll though-said to Speck. He moved close to aid in what ever way was required.

"We'll make sure she's got a good enough ID to fool the hunters." The mechanic grimaces as she ends up wearing the disguise, and continues to frown while Radiance applies makeup to her. "At least I've got some of the right implant marks. Itch, what are you doing with my shoes? What is wrong with the way I walk?"
It takes some doing (not to mention a few pebbles in shoes and other sundry modifications) to get Lola not to fill up her available space in her usual un-old-ladylike manner.
GM Paladin
|
Speck forges the ID documents with ease. Ceren -- or rather Dot -- expects she will settle into a tech support job quickly. "I can load the training into my implants and have it refreshed in my memory each day. That's how I remember my living situation, that Jubair's parents are dead, when the pickles are done fermenting, things like that. It's a strange way of life but it works for me."
A Disguise check to alter her appearance, a Diplomacy check to set up allies or 'acquaintances', and a Bluff or Culture check to help set up her living situation to appear to have persisted for years in the past would be needed. We're almost done here, then we can head to the spaceport for the disguised people to show themselves in public before vanishing again.
Itch
|
Disguise: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Itch swats Lola's hand away. "Stop touching it! And don't worry about your shoes. It'll pinch, but you can be sure no one will think you're an able mechanic when I'm done with them. You might have to toss them in the recycler afterward though."
After spending a lot of time on Lola, he moves to Ceren, finding that most of his supplies have run out. "Ok, we'll try to keep it simple. We're not changing your age or anything." His whiskers quiver in frustration as he tries the best with what he has.
Radiance Dysnomia
|
Radiance tries not to laugh at the outrageous form that Lola creates dressed in the much older and much more frumpy clothes than the mechanic normally wears. She winces slightly as she sees the results of Itch running out of supplies and decides to change to topic. "You know there's an elderly woman in the apartment complex I live in that also has some memory problems and she's put up advertisements for someone to move in and help her. I'm sure she'd have troubles pinpointing when she met you for the first time, if someone was to ask."
Culture: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
GM Paladin
|
"Sounds like we'd have shared sorrows to bond over, at least," Ceren says, "and maybe I could recommend memory backup treatments for her."
OK, you've accumulated a whole bunch of successful rolls and only one or two failures, so I'll say you've achieved success in this skill challenge!
In a matter of a few hours, the team has created a convincing electronic trail to Akiton, made Lola and Radiance look a lot like Ceren and Jubair (enough to fool those looking through security cameras at least), made some secure communications to folks on Akiton to continue the trail there, forged new identity documents for "Dot" and "Tomi", found a lady from Radiance's building who is looking for a roommate who could be convinced that she's known "Dot" and "Tomi" longer than she actually has, and set up "Dot" in a tech support job that she feels comfortable with. Well done.
With all of that complete, Ceren and Jubair will hide in a Starfinder Society safehouse while the fake Ceren and Jubair make their way to the spaceport in order to be seen there.
Options for the travel to the spaceport:
A)Autocab. Autocabs are controlled from the central dispatch. While fast, this has a possibility of the cab being diverted remotely to a location of the Bluerise Tower people's choosing, should they be onto you.
B) Public transportation or walking through main throughfares: You could get lost in a crowd, but there's also lots of security cameras in this route, and you might get intercepted.
C) Cut through Jatembe Park: This is the most direct route in terms of distance, though slower than an autocab or public transportation. There are few security cameras in the Park, which is preserved in as natural a state as a space station can manage.
It is also up to you whether the rest of the team accompany "Ceren" and "Jubair" to the spaceport.
Rastar
|
"Don't worry, Lola, we're not going to let you out of our sight. I'd be more concerned about the route. Autocabs or cutting through the park are likely the best options. Even if the autocab gets diverted, one of our own hackers might be able to take control back. Cutting through the park is the most obvious choice, giving us the best of both worlds, and only costing a little time. If I was tracking Ceren, I'd have the public security feeds monitored. That doesn't take a lot of effort or money, so you can bet the Bluerise people are on that already."
Radiance Dysnomia
|
Fussing around with the itchy wig on her head while trying not to mess up the light colored makeup on her face, Radiance ponders the situation. "I say autocab, we have two great hackers, three if 'Dot' wants to help, too. With one inside the cab and another one or two outside it, we could readily keep it on track, right? Or have I watched too many cyber thrillers?"
GM Paladin
|
OK that's two disagreeing posts, so we need a clear majority favoring one option.
Idomyll
|
"I am not too worried about the auto cab being hi-jacked. For that to happen the baddies would have to know enough to realize we were in one, then find the right one, then hi-jack it. That kind of thing takes some time. We can already assume we are ahead of them since they aren't bashing down the door here." he rasped quickly. "I will have Gilrynth follow the cab from the sky. No one will even glance at another drone. Once we make the port, I will park myself on a bench and follow "Ceren and Jubair" though the drone. That way they have over-watch and I am close if spatz goes kerplunk." He stopped talking taking several deep breaths.
Itch
|
"I actually like the public transit and the main areas. The idea is for "Ceren" and "Jubair" to be seen, remember? The more people or cameras that can verify that, the better."
GM Paladin
|
Rastar: Park. Radiance: Autocab. Idomyll: Autocab. Itch: Public transit and main thoroughfares. Currently, Autocab has the most votes.
LolaRuby
|
"Trouble with the cab, though, is that we won't be together, and if they have better hackers than we do they could split us up. I vote park."
Speck Zezener
|
"Have to agree with the lady here," Speck pipes up. "Never split the party! No wiser words have I heard."
GM Paladin
|
Alright, with Lola and Speck voting for Park, it has a clear plurality and that's the way you'll go.
After discussion and voting, the group decides to cut through Jatembe park to hope to avoid being seen on security cameras until they reach the spaceport. Ceren and Jubair are taken to the safehouse, and you receive confirmation that they are secure.
Are Lola and Radiance, in their disguises, walking apart from the rest, or are they all walking in a close group? I've added a new map to the slides, and I'd like you all to arrange yourselves on the right side of the bridge to represent your positions.
The walk into the park is uneventful, and the starfinders quickly approach the wide stream that bisects the green space designed to mimic a natural forest as closely as it can. Even the bridges across this stream, which is kept stocked with fish and other wildlife, are natural wood, a rare commodity in the space station.

I'm thinking Itch and Rastar take point, walking around thirty or forty feet ahead of Lola and Radiance, with Speck and Idomyll about that far behind. And make it look like we're not all together.

Sounds good! Just a lot of couples walking in the park tonight, nothing suspicious there. I mean that kasatha and ysoki pair are just sooo cute together! :-P

Good to go
Rastar and itch led the way, trying to keep an eye out for trouble. But, really, what was likely to happen? Assuming they had gotten to Ceren in time. And assuming that the Bluerise Towers security team had been held off long enough for his companions' computers work to be accomplished. And assuming that computer work was flawless. And ... yeah, there was going to be trouble all right.

You were saying 30-40 feet ahead, but the actual icons are about 20 feet apart. Which one do you want to stick with?
Radiance Dysnomia
|
Wait you didn't move them back? When I looked at the map one time we were all spread out with Lola and Radiance on the bridge and everyone else on either bank. I thought that you'd moved us all together. Personally, I'm of the idea let's spread out!
GM Paladin
|
OK, gotcha.
The boots of the first couple thrump, thrump, thrump across the wood planks of the bridge, reaching the far side of the bridge uneventfully. "Ceren and Jubair" begin crossing as well. Just as they're nearly across, three figures step out from behind trees. I rolled perception for Kastar and Itch, both of whom did not beat their stealth scores.
"Hold it right there, you two," one of them calls out, pointing a pulsecaster pistol at "Ceren". "You need to come with us. Security business. You go about your business, folks, this doesn't concern you," he adds with a glance at Kastar and Itch.

"Ceren" gives a gasp as the a gun is pointed at her. Grabbing onto "Jubiar" next to her she shakes in fear at the weapon being pointed at her. In a small petite voice, she starts stammering"But, but, why are you pointing a weapon at us? That's a little more than simple 'security'! You're planning on hurting us, aren't you?" After a second she stands a little straighter and starts screaming. "HELP! HELP! These 'security' men are trying to mug me!"
Please let this roll well Bluff: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17

Itch turns at the commotion, suddenly seeing men between them and "Ceren" and "Jubair". "What's happening? What are you doing? Hey, ain't you those kidnappers from the vid-show?"
He looks at Kastar and speak loudly enough to be heard by Speck and Idomyll. "Hey, I think there's a reward out for them! We can bag ourselves some huge credits!" He points to the men.
Rastar
|
Sorry, I squished us back together when GM Paladin specified to the right side of the bridge
Rastar pulled his own pistol with one hand, and his assault hammer with another. "No, I think we are about to make it our business. You see, you are interfering with our walk. Now, why don't you put your little gun away, and I'll stow mine, and we can talk like civilized people. Otherwise, I am afraid I am going to have to hurt you quite badly."
Speck Zezener
|
"Yeah, what is this I see? Three big burly men accosting a frail elderly lady and her underaged grandson? My, my, Absalom Station's security has really gone to the dumps since I was last here. And as law-respecting citizens, I trust it is our duty to right this wrong, yeah?" Speck manages to say all these with a perfectly straight face. Almost. He moves slightly forward, more to spread out for the likely upcoming conflict than a need to get closer.

Give me an intimidate check if you're trying to make them back off.
Rastar
|
1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
Rastar hated trying to intimidate people. Whether it was the khandij over his face, or the fact that kasatha looked spindly next to other humanoids, it just seemed like he had to try twice as hard as the next guy to get people to back down without actually breaking them. He shrugged, their loss.
