Lecate see Kafar strike Elliot with a poisoned weapon and sees Elliot shudder as the poison makes it way into his blood stream.
Lecate rushes over to Elliot and performs a full round action by pulling out his goat bladder.
"Hold still Elliot I can remove the poison from you before it has a chance to affect you in any way."

Husarq |

As the man goes down to the earth, stricken by the fury of he and his companions, Husarq feels a certain glee suffuse his body. Humans... they are pathetic things, deserving of only slavery or death.
Husarq looks at the remaining one.
"SPEAK! To whom did you sell it? And when? Do not delay us any longer, or I shall give you your just desserts!" threatens Husarq, brandishing his blade.

Behind the efreeti, Mareq stands, looking at him with stern eyes, full of rebuke.
"BE SILENT, dung-face. Or I shall banish you once again!" says Mareq, waving Husarq away. The ifrit steps up and gestures at Nefti in a reassuring way.
"Worry not about my thrall. He exceeds my commands. I find your statement is the germ of a story. Most likely an amazing one, worthy of hearing and remembering. To whom did you sell these gems? Was it difficult finding them? Your journey must have been difficult. I know ours was. We barely survived as a group, yet you and your compatriot outdistanced us for days, like a pair of foxes always ahead of the farmer."
Mareq smiles and hopes Nefti shares his story, squeezing every bit of his desire and equanimity into his words.

"And tell us what that gold sheet is for!"

Husarq |

Lecate's Recentering Drone happens earlier in Round Two than Husarq's turn, so he is able to act, although sickened.
Husarq steps forward and swings at Kafar with his legendary efreet blade.
<snip>
al-Saif has consumed 5 of 6 legendary powers for the day
Husarq has 3 personal mythic powers remaining for the day.

![]() |

"Yes, the gold sheet. It appears to be some sort of summoning. By the gods, man, why would you want to attract the attention of the Old Ones and others who inhabit the Dark Tapestry?"

DM PeteZero |

Nefti pulls out three documents to back up his claims: two terms of sale and a letter of credit worth 6,000 gp, all three signed by some buyer named Angvar Branmaz.
"The gold sheet? it seems to have to do with mystic powers - you could renew them with the ritual - and yes, draw unwanted attention as well. A nice find, not something useful for us.
And here, as you can see, we sold it them to this man, Angvar Branmaz."
is an underpriced forgery.
Kafar and Nefti are wearing bandages and look sickly.

Motaz retrieves the golden sheet from wherever the party has stored it. "Mareq, I feel the Ruby Sage's power ebbing. It is night now, so we could do the ritual. If we are attacked, we may need more mythic power. These two were not just fleeing from us, they were going somewhere, presumably to meet someone. Perhaps we should do the ritual? What do the rest of you think? We should only do it when we are prepared, in case the attention it draws is immediate and hostile."

![]() |

"Yes, I would. Is that involved here?"

![]() |

Unless anyone objects, after the party is done talking to Nefti, Motaz performs the ritual.

![]() |

"That would be a good start. But right now we need the Jewels. If you sold them, what are you doing out here? Do you know where the Sanctum of the Sages is? Are you working for the Diamond Sage? If you are, why sell the Jewels?"

Going to the Sanctum?" he responds stating the obvious.
Mareq watches and listens to Nefti's half-answers, evasions, and generally smart-ass-ness.
Mareq rolled a 28 Diplomacy earlier. But, let's see how Intimidate works.
"I am displeased with your answers. I'm trying to be diplomatic, pointing out how we value you, your information, and what you have to offer us. However, you do not seem amenable to this."
Mareq looks over at Husarq. The efreeti's arms flex slightly as he cleans Kafar's blood from al-Saif. Little remains, as if al-Saif, hungry for mortal blood, had drunk it down.
The ifrit gestures to Husarq, then turns to his companions.
"Perhaps we ought to confer on our next course of action. Do we all agree on Motaz's desire to enact the ritual from the gold-sheet?"
Mareq steers the team away from Nefti, leaving the Aspis agent under the guard of Husarq...
No Intimidate from Mareq. Just hand of friendship.

![]() |

Derek, did you add the +2 from Motaz's aid to the diplomacy roll, it might've been a 30!

Husarq |

Husarq watches the Aspis agent give his master the runaround. "Where am I going? To the Sanctum of course." he sneers to himself in an, albeit internal, sing-song voice.
Listen as Nefti evades the questions. This agent knows we want to know why they are heading to the Sanctum, especially if they've sold the jewels already. My Emir of the Question would go straight through this one.
When Mareq gives Husarq the nod, the efreeti grins with satisfaction. Finally.
Husarq approaches Nefti.
