Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Kevan skewers the drake, but not before it covers him in the acidic, sticky mucus. He struggles up the deck, trailing the mucus with him. "Somebody bring that thing down!" He aims for another spear thrust.
Attack (entangled): 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 2 = 13

Polanco...SOMEHOW dodges out of the way of the acid breath and spits his cigar out.
This is becoming enough to enrage the dwarf somewhat.
Listen 'ere you damnable drake ye'll get down from there and fight us like a man dis instant er you're gonna make me downright upset!
He produces a javelin and chucks it at the little creature.
Javelin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
In his rage the Javelin slips out of his hand and the Dwarf curses loudly.

Hudor see his friends get stuck in the acid spit and curses, "Die you vile beast. You have caused us enough trouble."
Hudor loads his crossbow and fires a bolt at the drake.

Aurus grunts at the acid burning through his skin. "C'mere, you feral little git, Apsu's got a nice treat for ya," he says, winding up the sword as he calls to the drake.
Ready action to hit if the drake comes close.

Polanko avoids getting caught in the worst of the caustic mucus and bucks a javelin at the drake. Unfortunately, it splashes harmlessly into the water.
Aurus also dodges the mucus's main splash (I mistyped, DC was 12) but Kevan finds himself entangled. Worse, the acidic spittle continues to eat away at him even as he tries to break free of it.
Lingering acid: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Kevan R: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Luckily, Hudor's aim finally works. Drake drake lets out one last fire as the bolt strikes it, then drops bleeding into the river.
COMBAT OVER!!
Polanko -4hp, 1 nonlethal damage
Aurus -4 hp
Kevan -9 hp
(With the drake dropped, the rest of you and the crew can drag the cleric out of the sizzling mucus)

"Well that seemed too convoluted to be a natural occurrence. Do you think the Razmir followers sent those creatures to attack us?"says Volar to anyone who is listening.

![]() |

"Not necessarily. We could've just gotten in the drake's territory. Some creatures are just like that, where they will attack almost anything they view invading their territory."
Putting away his crossbow, "Either way. You three," looking at Planko, Aurus, and Kevan "are going to need some healing before we reach our target. If we have to fight before than while you are injured like that, it is going to cause a lot of problems."

![]() |

Kevan accepts help to clean the mucus off him. "Nasty mess that drake made!" He sighs. "I need a drink!"
After the priest finds his flask, he gathers Planko and Aurus together to provide healing. The priest uses a wand to heal their injuries.

Polanco gives a grateful curtsy to Kevan and then wanders over to the other side of the boat I dinnae think so a drake is probably too smart to fall for all this Razmir business
The dwarf tries to retrieve his Javelin before it gets too far out of reach and then continues on his way.

"Just a random encounter, though a funny coincidence for me. I was once dropped into a pit full of vipers and drakes. The fool who did it didn't realize that they are natural enemies in the wild. By the time he had tossed me in, the poor beasts were all dead having killed one another. Circle of life and all that." Colleen shakes her head at the memory.

GM Zoomba |

As the captain and crew remerge from where they ducked for cover, one crew member cautiously chimes in. Yeah, if Razmir can get even the animals on 'is side, we're all screwed. Just ill luck I suspect: they knew we're here they'd send more then a midget-dragon. Only good thing about those is the can hoard like the big-uns.

As he says this, many of you notice a distinct glint shining for the river bank, as sunlight seems to be hitting a shiny metal.
Meanwhile, Passad emerges from belowdeck. I heard a commotion up here. Is everything all right? Seeing several hurt Pathfinders, the Kalistocrat exclaims. Oh my. Injured in the line of duty? Here, take this, as a token pf good faith. He offers out a potion of cure moderate wounds

Kevan nods. "We're all ok now, but thanks." He looks around the group and pulls out the other healing potions he gathered from the guards.
"Some of you should take these potions. The Drunk gives me all the courage and healing I need."

Hudor keeps an eye on Polanco as he dives for whatever is in the water to be sure nothing befalls him.

![]() |

Aurus gives Kevan a hearty slap on the back. "Much obliged, priest - next drink's on me, for sure!" He then walks to the edge of the ship and keeps an eye on Polanco - as well as watching the sinking drake. He pulls out a small gold holy symbol in the shape of a dragon's claw.
"Got one for you, Apsu - little guy, but a mean one... and seemingly not too bright either. Hope he's repenting up there, if that's what you want." He tucks the symbol away after the little kind-of-prayer.

"I'll leave the swimming to others. I prefer to keep my feet on something solid if i can."

GM Zoomba |

Polanko dives in, with Hudor jumping after him. before too long the pair finds themselves at the river's edge where a sloppily-buried set of gold nuggets from a small cache.
As they scoop the metal up and move back towards the drifting boat, Temel also seems a bit taken aback at the hesitation to accept healing Unless Aurus was saying he's fine with holding onto it.
Well, hold onto it in either case. I am sure you will have more use for it than I. Your Pathfinder Society continues to amaze me, he says with a glimmer in his eye. Striding along the deck he smiles warmly as he continues. Given your skill, it seems to me increasingly prudent to enter into a business arrangement that would certainly be to our mutual benefit — particularly for those with an eye for spotting profit. Let me make my case simply: my trade network is growing and already blankets the Inner Sea like no other. Our two networks have already have had many mutually pro table business dealings with me in the past. It would be in all interests to expand on this more in the future, would it not? The Kalistocrat turns slightly towards Volar as he finishes his point.
Passad has barely finished talking however before Metella strides forward and waves a finger chidingly at him. The dwarf looks to you, especially Polanko as he hoists himself back on deck. The Druman's a slick one I'll give him that. Yes - he's got his bejeweled fingers in many pies. But think o' our dwarves' own concerns: a network centuries old and with a reputation to match. Your Captains are already negotiating a military alliance with us and our kin. An arrangement with a firm wi' deep roots in the Five Kings Mountains can firm up that joining.
Temel: "Is that blackmail about your little army excursion my ears detect? I suppose that may be all the dwarves have to counter with, seeing as they cannot hope to compete with my prices."
Metella: "Cheaper wares go as quick as they come. We make work wi' quality that will outlast you sevenfold."
As the two bicker, with the other dwarf Amauhak standing noticeably to the side observing the barbs dispassionately, each take time out of their spat regularly to extol the virtues of their trade network. It soon becomes apparent that their hopes from a deal with the Society are mutually exclusive.

"ENOUGH ALREADY! We're on a mission here! Either of you two want to negotiate a trade deal, you can just wait until we get back!"
I think I'm good on healing potions just now.

![]() |

If this wasn't core this character would 100 % have been Exchange that makes me a little sad.
Polanco clears his throat and slaps the Dwarf on the back "Well O' Course me lads, you gotta keep yer business dealing with the Dwarves as much as possible! I don't bear your Druman types any ill will, but when it comes to gems, you gotta trust the Dwarven brand name, ye do.
Polanco collects the potion, as though it were a beer that Kevan was holding for him and tucks it into his belt pouch.
he is a bit cowed by Colleen and then lets out a proud belly laugh O' course she's right. We gotta couple of kidnapped kids to rescya and trade can wait til tomorrah, but I think the Grand Lodge would really like to do business with ya both. But You gotta know where mah loyalties lie, I'm just sayin.

Looking at Temel and Metella, "You two must really looove each other. Shall we allow you two some private time below to get to know each other better. I'm sure we can ignore the sounds coming up."
Hudor says this to get them to possibly blush and shut up.

![]() |

Aurus laughs out loud at Hudor's taunt. "Man, that's one way to go about it," he says to himself shaking his head.
Aurus isn't impressed by either of them, but knows enough diplomacy that he's not going to actively express that opinion... But is very pro-putting them in their place :D

![]() |

Looking at Temel and Metella, "You two must really looove each other. Shall we allow you two some private time below to get to know each other better. I'm sure we can ignore the sounds coming up."
"I'll go find a couple of harpoons or clubs."

![]() |

Volar looks between both Temel and Metella as he fully realizes how much the two differ in personality and trading styles.
He speaks to both of them equally. "Expanding trade networks is always something that me and my trade partners are keen on doing. It's good to learn more about potential partners before agreeing to any sort of formal contract. This mission is important, but it will also serve as a means of doing exactly that. I think we will all learn much about each other over the next few days."

![]() |

Kevan sips from his mug. "Hard to argue with the Metella. The Pathfinders already have a military alliance going with the dwarves. Using their trade routes to bring in more than military supplies makes sense. Besides, they can bring in that good dwarven brew too."
He glances at Temel. "No offense, but it's hard to trust an order that abstains from drinking."

GM Zoomba |

Metella smiles at Polanko as the dwarf comes to her side, but listens and nods at Volar as he speaks. Aye. There's a few days still comin'. Just sleep on the matter then. And here: a taste of dwarven quality if you'd like. She offers the party a potion of Bear's Endurance/
Temel too gracefully accepts Volar's deferment and lets the matter drop, for now (though he seems far less pleased with Hudor and Colleen).
---
The Abacus continues down the river, with things decidedly quieter as the day goes on. As it nears dusk, the captain of the boat points out off in the distance. You Pathfinders can barely make out a pleasant country inn up a hill on the north shore of the Glass River, where a small dock offers a berth for the ship. The Abacus slowly guides to dock, Passad and the envoys look cautiously towards the Grey Revelation Inn. We will wait out the night aborad the cabins in the ship Pathfinders Temel says. You should have the evening and night to execute your mission; I would not risk staying longer. Good luck.
As you set to climb the stone path leading up through the trees to the inn, the Osirian dwarf Amahauk breaks his general silence to offer one more comment. Please - save our colleagues, but know that even if you do the Razmeri will be hunting for those that 'stole' from them. Tread softly, hide tracks, and refrain from violence if you can. As the Diamond Sage says: "Ask not the blind to describe the sunset"
When you walk towards the building, all appearances suggest a very cozy establishment. A sign above a wide wooden gates reads, “Welcome to the Gray Revelation Inn.” The gate leans open invitingly, and the smell of fresh flowers wafts on the cool breeze. The gate currently lies open, and through it sits a lovely courtyard, with the air filled with the scent of flowers. An oaken door to the north is the obvious entrance to the main inn, while to the south are the broad doors of a stable.

![]() |

"What do sunsets have to do with rescue operations?" The scraggly dwarf asks
Polanco notes the relative quality of the inn as he walks towards the inn.
He offers the potion to Aurus - it is only polite after all.
Well awright de we have any notion where they bein held in here?

![]() |

"I imagine we will have to rent a room for us and then search the place discreetly for any clue to where they might be held. Also asking a few people very carefully might be an option too."

GM Zoomba |

As you approach, a young man emerges from the stables. Seeing you, he waves and smiles quickly and then makes wide gestures with his hand. Crossing the courtyard, he keeps looking back as he approaches the main door to the inn. He seems to want you to follow him.

![]() |

*Shrug* Colleen follows.

![]() |

Volar follows the boy while keeping an eye on Smiler to make sure he doesn't wander off.

GM Zoomba |

As the boy leads you to the inn, Kevan looks around nervously. He doesn't notice any signs of ambush, or traps at the door, but observing your guide the cleric notices that he doesn't seems to be mute.
The boy opens the Grey Revelation's main door and scoots inside, beckoning you to follow. Dark oaken tables, chairs and benches fill a comfortable, L-shaped common room, and the faint odors of tobacco and ale permeate the air. Narrow windows with panes of smoked glass along the north and south walls allow some light into the space.
At the room's center-most table sits an old matronly woman clad in peasant clothing and an apron. Her voluminous white hair is piled atop her head and secured in a conservative bun. She wears a red scarf about her neck and a wry smile on her face.
"Well there Rosh. Brought in some new friends?" The boy nods as the old woman slowly gets out of her chair, wiping her hands on her apron. "Welcome to the Grey Revelation. I'm Addas Grymble. My sisters and I run this inn. Are you just here for dinner, or do you need lodgings for the night?"

![]() |

Hudor smiles at the matronly woman, "Lodging for the night if you would please. A warm meal and perhaps a place to bath some would be nice also. We have been trapped on a boat for a few days and I'm afraid some of us reek."

GM Zoomba |

Sorry for the delay: life and the recurring website issue slowed a reaction.
"Oh, well lodgings shouldn't be a problem. Are you lot all together?" Addas smiles as you enter, though her eyes widen as she spies Smiler outside.
"Well, it its just a bed you need, we have some smaller rooms for 5 silver a night. Oh, but you wanted a bath. Well, we have a few finer guest rooms that should be nice for two or three of you apiece, if you don't mind sharing. 3 gold for the evening, and access to some hot baths. We even have a couple of extra set-up rooms if you're the type who can't quite sleep well on anything that isn't extra soft, for a couple gold more. Bath's with that too. The pet'll need to stay in the stables though."
The smell of beef stew wafts out towards your noses from around the corner. You also her some faint squelching sounds from behind a nearby cracked-open door. Addas looks at you. "All the rooms are open for now: most of the shepherds are down towards Xer for the market day. I suppose I shouldn't expect you to know that though. It isn't exactly hard to see you aren't from around here." the old woman chuckles. "What brings you to Razmiran?"
A map of the Inn has also been added. Right now you're in 'E3'

![]() |

Hudor digs into his purse and pulls out 3 gold coins, "The finer rooms will be nice." He smells the beef stew and his mouth waters, "That stew smells real good. Will be nice to have something else but fish and stale bread. Oh... we are a merchant group. Our boss is right over there, the lady with raven hair." Hudor points to Colleen.
"Ah don't mind the ape. He is more like a mascot/pet but is otherwise harmless."

Colleen refrains from looking back over her shoulder to see who Huldor might mean. Instead she tips her tricorn and grins saccharinely.
"Don't forget to bring in all of the bags, and when you are done with that, walk the monkey." she says to Huldor.

![]() |

Hudor goes to bring in the 'bags' and walk the monkey, smiling as he passes Colleen.

Smiler |

"ook?" says Smiler.
He looks over at Volar like an expectant child waiting for permission from a parent. He seems to have taken a liking to other members of the group on their long voyage.

![]() |

"Yes you can go. Make sure to do what Hudor tells you at all times. I'll get you some stew for when you get back."

![]() |

Aurus looks about the inn. "Cheap rooms are fine for me, ma'am - got a bad back, anything too soft throws my back. Plus the boss lady likes it better when she can give us mooks the rotgut instead of the wine, if you catch my drift." He throws a wink at the innkeeper.

"Merchants then! How lovely" Addas says as she smiles at Colleen. "A shame you're missing the market day then. What type of things do you sell?"
As Hudor and Smiler step outside for a moment, two more woman emerge from the closest room, revealing a kitchen filled with shelves of cherry and apple bushels as the door swings behind them. These two arrivals look quite similar to Addas, though one is slightly taller and thinner and the third stands a bit more squat. That one smiles and shows a gap-toothed grin as she says.
"More guests for the night Addas? Should'a made more stew. Least 'Uge and I got enough jam set for a while. The plumper matron nods to you. [b]"Tarsi Grymble, and this is our sister Eugneia. Tsk tsk tsk - you lot look like you've seen better days. Far too skinny for the wilds: take a seat and I'll get some pastries out!"
You notice the thinnest Grymble sister (Eugenia) has a yellow scarf encircling her neck. the bright color and pattern looks quite familiar - in fact it seems identical to that work by the dwarf Amauhak.

![]() |

Aurus sits down immediately and looks about for the pastries. "Much obliged, ladies, never could say no to a heaping plate of homemade pastry!" Despite the potential danger of the situation, Aurus seems to be enjoying himself.

![]() |

After walking the ape, he guides the beast to the stables. Patting the stable boy's head. "You seem like a bright lad. My companions and I are suppose to meet some merchant contacts at this inn. They would be some dwarves travelling here. Would you have seen them boy?"
Hudor holds a silver coin in his hand to entice the stable boy.

![]() |

Polanco nods Aye we sell Dwarfen gear from the Five Kingdoms! We are looking for our fellows as the Hudore says.

![]() |

Kevan walks in, evidently having taken more time to get off the boat than the others. He has tucked away his obvious holy symbols, but still sports his mug. "Ah, civilization! Nothing like a port call to make you thirsty. Do you ladies have anything to drink?"
He nods to Colleen. "Boat's all tied up for the night, miss. I checked the cargo and it's secure."

![]() |

"Some food and drink would be lovely. It's been a long journey and i much prefer to talk merchant business on a full stomach. Do you have many guests staying with you at the moment? I'm always keen to meet fellow merchants while travelling."
Volar places his pack off to one side and takes a seat with Aurus and the others.
