She is a rogue..not that type. She is an infiltrator/spy. She has trap finding but not trap spotter. She usually tries to disguise her self as a human to hide her true appearance.

The dagger in her wrist sheath is coated in drow poison.

Hi guys, great introduction so far! I am looking forward to this game with you!

Unfortunately, taking 20 is not allowed on any of these checks.

Taking 20: When you have plenty of time (generally 2 minutes for a skill that can normally be checked in 1 round, one full-round action, or one standard action), you are faced with no threats or distractions, and the skill being attempted carries no penalties for failure, you can take 20.

Emphasis of mine.

Sleight of hand: Especially the sleight of hand check is a part of the scenario so a check is required.

Disguise: I have heard the pro and con arguments on taking 20 and in this PFS scenario I will not allow it. Please also note that for disguise it takes 10 to 30 minutes per check.

* * *

FYI:

After all of you have introduced yourself I will continue with the briefing and questions.

We will start the scenario August 13.

The game can run long so I would like to have the briefing finished now so we can kick off the game Aug 13 are definitely finished with the scenario before Sep 30.

Okay, no problem. I reroll the checks later. On another note, I thought this game was to start on Oct 1st?

Oh so sorry!! Yes!!

Oct 1 is the start!!

Strange Things

As an immediate action, I can treat positive and negative energy effects as if I was undead for 1 minute. Can activate this once per day. This is a (Su) ability.

Once per day I can change my appearance to look like a 4 foot tall area of shadow. This functions as invisibility but only lasts 4 rounds. It's a (Su) ability.

I can cast Feather Fall on myself at will.

And...the main strangeness... As a free action, I can 'fold' a scroll into a short sword (or shield) to use in combat. Each successful hit on an enemy causes the scroll to take damage.

Anything special I should know about your character: Hrmm... not a lot. I have a couple immediate action level 1 spells (saving finale and feather fall). He also has a 'We Really Be Goblins' boon that if I'm able to use it in the scenario, I will likely then replace my 'log roller' trait. I expect that would need a notation on my chronicle sheet if it occurred. His Dirge Bard archetype doesn't have much craziness going for it yet.

This PC is also in a scenario for Gameday part 1. If, for some reason, he is not available, I do have replacement options.

Hi guys, just to be certain you all are aware: We only start Oct 1.

Thanks

Can you all provide the details requested in the slides.

Are your characters all available to start Oct 1?

Though its still a week away, I'm not sure if my character will be done by then. He's stay in Heaven seems to be taking longer than anticipated. (The rolling blackouts on the site and whatnot didn't help)

I do have other options in tier if he can't make it.

I will move the start date to Oct 15.

This way you should all be able to play with your characters as intended.

Sovereign Court

Female LN Vishkanya Rogue (Deadly Courtesan) 5 | HP 33/33 | AC 18; T 13; FF 15; CMD 16(21 vs Grapple and Reposition) | Fort +4; Ref +9; Will +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +9(+11 to locate traps), SM: +6 | Speed 30ft | Toxic 1/1; Bardic Performance 7/7 | Active conditions: None

I am fine to start when ever. Syl'las will most likely be level 5 soon, so I will finish the form once she is updated.

Awesome about pushing it back a bit, thanks! Hamish is in the same game as RePete's so if we end earlier we'll let you know for sure.

Day job roll: Forego this check to complete research towards my "Seasoned Archivist" boon.

Seasoned Archivist:
☐☐☐☐☐☐ Seasoned Archivist (Dark Archive Faction): Your experience in the Grand Lodge’s Vault makes you
a skilled researcher of magic or other esoterica. You gain a +2 bonus on Research checks as well as skill checks
made to gain access to libraries and research facilities. If you have at least 20 Fame, you may spend 1 Prestige
Point to become a Senior Archivist, gaining research assistants to help in your personal experiments. You may
work with your assistants and forgo your Downtime between adventures to check a box that precedes this boon.
Once you have checked all 6 boxes, select one of the benefits below, crossing off the other one.

☐☐ Alchemical Breakthrough: Your body has become resistant to alchemical substances. When you take damage
from a splash weapon, reduce the damage you take by 3 (minimum 0). Also, you have produced two doses of an
alchemical catalyst that can enhance a potion you drink. Check one of the boxes that precede this boon when you
drink a potion to use your character level in place of the potion's caster level for determining its effects.
☐☐ Magical Marvel: You gain a +2 bonus on Spellcraft and Knowledge (arcana) checks to identify ongoing
magical effects, such as rituals and lingering magic auras (but not magic items). Additionally, you have
produced two vials of magical ink that can enhance a scroll that you activate. Check a box that precedes this
boon to use your character level in place of the scroll's caster level for determining the spell's effects.

Thanks Hamish!

Can the other two please check in!?

I sent you a PM. I will have to start on Monday as we have very little time until Gameday ends. :-(

I'm here. Umbrato had a life changing event in last session. AkA alignment changed. Should but all updated and ready to go.

For your convenience, here are your wedding-appropriate "wardrobe options" (if you want to make a purchase):

Courtier's Outfit: 30gp, plus an additional 50gp for jewelry. Weighs 6lbs. Tailored clothes fashionable in the noble courts.
Noble's Outfit: 75gp, plus an additional 100gp for jewelry and a signet ring. Weighs 10lbs. Expensive, gaudy, elaborate, and highly fashionable.

Or if you're trying to upstage the bride and groom:
Royal Outfit: 200gp. Ostentatious beyond belief, and impractical. You need servants to get in and out of it properly, and you would look out of place if not also bedecked in jewels, crown and sceptre.

All of the above options are from the Core Rulebook. Other books might have other options, and it is up to you how you wish to dress. You do not have to choose one of these.

Just noticed Terrance is the only high tier character. This is gonna be fun :)

Our APL is 4.33 so we play low tier.

You have all made your decisions so here the mechanics on the armor choice. Please reflect this in your rolls if you are wearing medium/heavy armor or intend to so at a later time:

Armor: All attendees are permitted to wear light armor,
especially if it's worn under fine clothes. Characters
wearing medium armor take a -2 penalty on all Charismabased
checks, and characters wearing heavy armor take
a -4 penalty, because of their armor's bulk and constant
creaking and clanking. A PC wearing glamered armor that
appears to be ceremonial or parade armor incurs no such
penalties. Similarly, if a PC holds an official title earned by
spending Prestige Points such as Armiger, Diplomat, Eagle
Knight, Pasha, or Risen (see Chapters 2 and 5 of Pathfinder
Campaign Setting: Pathfinder Society Field Guide for more
information) and the PC can reasonably claim his or her
armor is part of an official uniform, the PC may wear the
armor without penalty.

Just to clarify all of your options for your equipment, there are three possibilities:

1. gear carried on your person. This must have been checked by the ship's guards, or smuggled past them via sleight of hand (or some other trickery). Weapons must be peace-bonded (or faked as such), wands must have been demonstrated.

2. left in the custody of the ship's guards. Any equipment left with the ship's guards will be receipted, but you won't have access to it during the scenario.

3. placed in "luggage". "Luggage" will be stowed in the ship's hold during the voyage, then transferred to the guest lodgings that have been provided for you on Pariol Island. Luggage will be searched by the guards, and any weapons therein will be peace-bonded. Any wands found therein will be kept by the ships's guards as per option 2. You may demonstrate non-hostile wands by expending a charge and have them stowed in luggage however, in which case they will be available to you from the guest quarters on the island.

Blakros Matrimony is, I think, the first PFS scenario to feature Influence mechanics. The idea has been further developed since, in scenarios (eg Bid for Alabastrine) and I think in Ultimate Intrigue. But in this scenario the mechanics are self-contained. Here's how it works.

Influence phases: during this game there will be a number of influence phases. These represent a period of time during which each PC will get one opportunity to influence one NPC of their choice. Remember that the mission objective given to you by Ambrus Valsin was to “increase the standing” of the Pathfinder Society by winning over or otherwise making a good impression on the wedding guests.

To influence an NPC, you will need to interact with them. Typically this will mean involving them in conversation. So, during each phase I will ask you to tell me which NPC you wish to interact with. More than one PC may interact with the same NPC during any given phase, in which case you will be working together. You can then go ahead and post whatever it is that you want to say, or any other actions you think will be relevant AND make a skill roll depending upon how you have interacted.

If you are working together one PC will lead and the others will aid, depending on how you have interacted. The normal social skills (Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate) will almost always be useable to influence an NPC.

Sometimes other skills might be useable, especially if you get creative. (Yes, Intimidate can be used to win over NPCs; there are not any negative consequences from successful intimidation in this context).

To speed things along, you can post whatever skill checks you think are appropriate at the same time as your role-play interaction.

If I think a different skill is more appropriate, I will call for it or I will roll it for you based on what's on your character sheet if I think that will move us along.

IMPORTANT

Discovery:
Instead of influencing an NPC, you can use your time to try to discover any “weakness” that an NPC has. This would be something that would give you leverage, and make future influence checks against that NPC easier (for the whole party).

Again, this will normally involve interacting with the NPC in some way, followed by a skill check. Go ahead and post your roleplay, telling me that you are trying for a “discovery.” Sense Motive will often be the appropriate skill to determine somebody's social weakness, but sometimes it'll be a different skill.

Again, you can be creative and I will tell you if a different skill is more appropriate, but you can post dice rolls with your role-play.

Each NPC needs a number of successes to win over, but if you get a high result on your influence check you get bonus successes.

There are a couple of points where you'll get in-character updates on how you're doing, but your roleplay may give you immediate indicators.

AND CAN YOU PLEASE FILL OUT THE Character INFORMATION IN THE SLIDES. ;-)

I placed Terrance in the back of the party because he does have a fair number of Long Range options. If anyone else prefers to be the caboose, feel free to push Terrance up a slot.

It honestly doesn't matter to me, it isn't like we are splitting XP or loot or anything.

The main reason I'm preferring 5 is the fact that 5 plays faster than 6. Plus recruiting will probably slow the game at least a small bit just to get the replacement up to speed. If we didn't have an actual deadline to complete this game, I'm sure most of us wouldn't even blink at finding a 6th.

Also, the VC promised no fights and even told us to not fight so I really doubt there will even be combat. ;)

I do have a level 3 Vanaran Monk (who needs his profile updated) but if you still want me I will be happy to join.

I totally understand concerns about play speed as well, I promise I am a regular poster, with the ability to post multiple times per day.

If you will have me, I will get caught up on the thread and join!

As long as there are enough encounters left in the scenario that Mosi can legally get credit for playing, I'm in favor of Mosi joining. Specific details of what's legal in this situation can be found in the Season 10 Guild Guide.

GM, you'll have to review the guide vs. the scenario to determine this, as we don't know what remains to be done in the scenario.

Okay! Mosi, jump in! You can still get credit.

Assume that you arrived late from another mission and took a private Pathfinder ship to the island.

After some scrutiny (please read the gameplay and discussion regarding items and restrictions) you were admitted to the welcome party.

Zarta personally picked you up and showed you the guests and where your fellow Pathfinders are located.

knowledge nobility, DC 17: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 success on that one too
