Well so far we have had no combat, and I would welcome it if we want to beat up some ulfen.
What does everyone else think?
To be fair, it still looks reasonably suspicious since the Ulfen casted a defensive spell on our approach.

Sorry for taking long to get back after the weekend; I had a migraine and couldn't stand to look at screens. Thanks for your patience!

Oh don't worry about fighting Terrance! You will have your fun even if you decide not to fight here. ;-)

I agree - something definitely seems off. Even if we believe she isn't lying to us, there are still logical holes in what she is saying. I've said as much in OOC in the thread. I'm good with pressing this until we get some sort of resolution. Hopefully if it pisses Michelle off enough, we can still smooth it over with Damien by bringing her back like he asked.

Hamish has his planned actions depending on what the group does so we shall see how things play out IC.

![]() |

GM I think with it having a timer result of 0, it would just explode before anyone could grab it. The fortitude Save is against Sonic Damage.
This yellow ball of volatile resin has a hemp wick. Lighting the fuse is a move action; 1d3–1 rounds later (a result of 0 rounds takes place at the end of your turn), the shriek bomb explodes, dealing 2d6 points of sonic damage to creatures in a 10-footradius burst (Fortitude DC 15 half). A shriek bomb can be thrown as a splash weapon with a range of 10 feet.

![]() |

I think the GM is attempting to still give us an option to avoid combat.

![]() |

Any issues if I put Hamish next to Mosi on the map? I had not been keeping him updated on the map apparently but that was where he was in the narrative.

![]() |

Umbrato I think the time for Diplomacy has gone; I threw sand and Syl'las attacked with her kukri.
Also if we wanted to go non-combat with this encounter, more people should have spoken up in discussion. I asked if we wanted combat and said I was in favor, and two people saying that it will most likely happen.

![]() |

Hamish and Umbrato and Mosi and Kolris were all pushing for non-combat in gameplay. I'm pretty sure we are allowed to use both locations to indicate our actions and intents and not just assume because no one posted in discussion that we all wanted combat.
But hey, everyone is allowed to play their characters how they wish (within the allowed PFS rules) and I don't see anyone acting improperly so we shall see how the consequences of our actions play out!

GM Nowruz |

Hey guys, I actually played the barbarians super defensively given the boundaries of the scenario but now we have reached the path of no return and your characters can all see that the time for diplomatic negotiations is over.
That does not mean that they want to kill you all ... so of course you can all give up.

![]() |

Oh, I have 0 expectation we can still diplomacy this out. Likewise, I don't actually expect you to use non-lethal attacks. Just as Terrance is playing his character, I am playing mine.
Umbrato has recently been to heaven and found a god to believe in. Two scenarios ago, Umbrato's actions here would have been quite different...and he would not have cared Terrance was down. :-P
True, but it also creates a combat where people will tell people not to use their tactics via lethal/nonlethal methods, then it creates bitterness and a bias against each other.
In my experience, this is typical. Example, a caster specializing in AoE is constantly asked not to cast fireball in the middle of the melee group engaged with the enemy. Doesn't mean they won't, it's just a request.
No need for it to cause bitterness or bias.

Hello everyone - GM sent me a PM and unfortunately I just noticed it!
I do have a level 3 Vanaran Monk (who needs his profile updated) but if you still want me I will be happy to join.
I totally understand concerns about play speed as well, I promise I am a regular poster, with the ability to post multiple times per day.
If you will have me, I will get caught up on the thread and join!
Hi Mosi,
you stated that your monk is level 3 which is the minimum level for this scenario so could you please update your profile to reflect level 3 please. Thanks

Ah. Alright thats fair. Forgive me for thinking that; I have some autism and think people get upset if I interpret things incorrectly.

Also, just FYI, if I can explain my thoughts in-character on the Gameplay tab, I'm not going to duplicate the effort out-of-character in Discussion. Kolris' vote was clear, I thought. If that was misunderstood, I apologize.

Oh man you are right! I can't believe I forgot this! SO sorry. Will get on it right away.

Ok, all set. Holy monkey balls was I hamstringing myself! All sorts of fun stuff I got at 3rd level...

Umbrato, Could not find the rule that allows to draw a wand during a move action? Or is that a special ability? :-)
Draw or Sheathe a WeaponDrawing a weapon so that you can use it in combat, or putting it away so that you have a free hand, requires a move action. This action also applies to weapon-like objects carried in easy reach, such as wands. If your weapon or weapon-like object is stored in a pack or otherwise out of easy reach, treat this action as retrieving a stored item.
If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you may draw a weapon as a free action combined with a regular move. If you have the Two-Weapon Fighting feat, you can draw two light or one-handed weapons in the time it would normally take you to draw one.
If I'm misunderstanding this, I do apologize. From this, I was under the assumption, it just had to be strapped to my waist like a weapon would be. If it were in my pack, that'd be a different story.
I'm fine either way.

Details are up there. Only thing I am missing is the day job roll...
Day Job Craft (calligraphy): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

![]() |

Woops! My bad, filled out now.
Seasoned Archivist info is shown in this post earlier in discussion.

![]() |

Day job, craft (alchemy), alchemy class ability, alchemist's lab, crafter's fortune: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 2 + 2 + 5 = 40

![]() |

Craft Origami Sculpture: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

![]() |

So my apologies to the GM. When I updated Terrance after giving him another chronicle, I purchased a prestige wand but forgot to update it into the sheet by the start of the Game Day.
I sincerely hope this instance can be forgiven.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Just to clarify, I hold no ill will towards the player behind Terrance at all. Hamish is acting how best I think he would in response to how Terrance is acting. I'm simply just rolling with the IC stuff, even if tempers are flaring. I can dial it back if it's too intense as well.

Same Hamish. Perhaps the gel was a bit too much, but I think our characters conflicting matches the tone of what a wedding is like LOL XD
True, there I did fail sense motive, but that does not automatically mean the character believes what its being said. If so, then there are a few GM's I need to discuss how they handle that skill.

![]() |

Also apologies for starting the combat, as a player not a character, but my ability to pick up on some roleplay things in PBP is not the best :(
Its why I like the discussion section so things can be made clear.
Admittedly if I knew Terrance in real life, I would think he's a complete a~*@$+@ also.

![]() |

Or a dagger? Unless you have to have both hands. Shoot, a simple quarterstaff would count too actually... No worries though. Thanks for Haste!
Oh, I have weapons good sir. Just was thinking for a constant 'armed' aspect.
Granted, I likely wouldn't have had it on for this situation of walking into a wedding so I suppose it wouldn't have changed this situation. :-P

We're approaching Thanksgiving here in America, so this is an early heads-up that I won't be available starting Wed afternoon through Sunday evening. I won't have access to either my home or work computers, so I don't expect to be able to post at all during my absence. Please bot me as needed! (Bot Me spoiler provided)

![]() |

I will also be spending time with family this weekend. I should be available to post, but I am perfectly fine if we don't.

Ditto and thanks for getting it reported!!!

Saved by the bell...
I thought for sure we were a goner, I'm glad it left!
Thanks for running GM Nowruz! Well done to you too! I appreciate the invite to fill your empty spot!

![]() |

Thank you as well and you were absolutely right about that last fight, brutal!!!

![]() |

Wow, that's incredible. I thought we were going to die, and all of a sudden we won. Quickest turnaround ever!
Regarding items not used, did the holy weapon balm that Kolris left and Hamish used actually get used then?
Thanks so much for the run!

![]() |

It was a scroll of magic weapon and Hamish actually attacked with it so he will mark it off for sure.
