Two rickety wooden platforms—crow’s nests—sit on the masts, ten feet above the ship’s deck below. Each is linked by a pair of thick ropes, and additional ropes hang down from the platform on the stern-most mast to the deck.
It's a DC 15 climb check to get up one of the masts and a DC 10 climb check to move in the rigging from one mast to the other
There is also a door leading to a cabin on this deck and a straircase leading down to a lower deck

Reta attempts to listen as well and seek out peepholes.

It's obvious to even Chuffy that something inside the cabin is growling.
Reta is able to find a few small peepholes in the old decaying ship to look through and manages to see:
This room is a blood-splattered chamber of horror. Dead rodents, snakes, and birds have been variously nailed, tied, and hung around the walls. At the far end of the room, a large cauldron bubbles over an iron stove set against the aft wall, its stovepipe chimney extending up through the ceiling. A bloody burlap sack sits on the floor next to the stove. The center of the room contains a long, rickety table surrounded by chairs that contain several grisly decorations—a whole family of skeletal goblins, their bones bleached white and bound together by reeds and twine.
In the middle of the room is also the meanest dog you have ever seen. It's a hulking, rheumy-eyed, lumbering cur bigger than most goblins. It's standing and sniffing the air..growling.

Poog -Zan- |

In that case...
Poog throws the door open and lets loose with his burning hands on the occupant.
Hah! Dog burn! Burn Dog Burn!
1d4 ⇒ 1 DC 13 Reflex for half
Wow. Burning Hands is kinda weak without a caster level boost. The silly fire bolt domain power is more effective than that.
Uh oh. Dog not dead. Reta! Stab the dog!

![]() |

Reta does the following upon spying the dog. She first drinks potion of 'Makes you strong like Big animal(Bull's strength)' feeling her muscles bunch up.
After that she drinks Dragon Brew Gourd, bleching fire is always good.
Then Poog throws open door and screams for Reta.....figures....
Reta stands in front of Poog and Bleches...........fire
25 Feet assuming I have time to do all the above, fire breathing
Reflex DC 13 for half damage 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 5) = 14

![]() |

Poog kicks open the door with his tiny goblin legs, filling the entire room with MASSIVE (k, that was sarcasm ;0 ) amounts of burning hotness, fire and flames go everywhere....it just seems to tick the dog off, making him angry.
@Reta, you have some time to prepare since your the one spying you can do what ever you want before you tell Poog there's a dog inside there so you can do everything you wanted.
Chuffy climbs down
Reta drinks a couple of bottles and after Poogs impressive fire display decided to show him how it's done....which truly is IMPRESSIVE this time.
Not going to bother rolling reflex for the burning hands ;), 1 damage it is
Reflex save vs firebreathing: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
The dog seems to have been a bit distracted by the earlier amount of fire because he doesn't seem to bother to put his best effort into trying to dodge the second wave of flame and just barely makes it.

Chuffy manages to dodge past the dog with a dazzling display of goblins acrobatics resulting in him not getting attacked.

Poog -Zan- |

WOW! Big fire Reta! You get back now, Poog stop bad dog!
Poog pulls out his dogslicer and steps into the space that Reta left.
I'm assuming both that Chuffy will be flanking with me and that I won't have anyone in any adjacent squares since Reta withdrew from the fight.

Seems it seems I forgot to update the map since this combat started, sorry about that. Not that it mattered a whole lot until now ;) You can't flank with Chuffy without provoking from the dog. (The only place Chuffy could have tumble too that would allow you to flank without provoking is filled with a big boiling hot cooking pot and he won't fit in the square), but even if I subtract the bonus you get from flanking you still hit
Poog bravely steps forward being the goblin hero he is and takes a stab at Cuddles hitting him on the side of his nose

And with one final display or goblin cunning Poog brings down the big bad dog.
If you look around this gruesome place you notice that in the cauldron there are an goblin arm and leg floating around.
And if you keep searching you find out the bloody burlap sack contains the rest of the goblins body, including his uniquely branded face. You all regonize this face as Scribblyface (the goblin you all kicked out of the Licktoad Village for writing words down).
Nothing else is in here.

Reta repeats what Poog said. :P
She hurries down to the lowest part of the ship's cabin.

"All shush. Reta goes down now...Hurry up you gobbys."

![]() |

As Reta moves down to the bottom of the ship and stands in front of the cabin door she hears someone rumble around inside. Somehow this person has missed all the combat going on but did manage to hear you argue and move down the stairs.
Gonna assume Reta will open the door
The air in this cabin is thick and close, stinking of swamp and sweat, with a thick, glistening layer of mud on the floor and swaths of oily fungus clinging to the walls. Even more dangling decorations of goblin bone and animal-part fetishes hang from the ceiling on lengths of sinew here, and what appears to be a nest made of rags, sticks, mud, and castoff
bits of clothing lies against the westernmost wall. But scattered amid the filth and clutter are several exotic-looking man-made objects—including a tantalizing red chest.
In the room are a giant frog and behind it a goblin with a HUGE head, truely enormous, wearing an even bigger floppy leather hat and Her mouth is her most fearsome feature—it's a bit too wide, even by goblin standards, and Vorka's habit of filing her already sharp teeth has resulted in a snaggletooth grin of mismatched teeth that leaves little doubt as to her preference for tough, stringy meat. Like goblin meat. She wears rags and bits of stained cloth—trophies harvested almost at random from her hapless victims, over her equally patchwork leather armor.

@Luke_Parry I didn't know this either but when I was looking up how the elixer of fire breath actually works...I found out it's one target. Seems like your spewing fire...over something to reach something else with 25ft
Reta belches forth an might impressive display of flames, spewing it in the air above the frog at Vorka before taking a step back
Vorka tries to dodge most of the fire being spit at her
Reflex save for half: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
and easily dodges some of it.
Mogmurch then steps up but he just barely misses Vorka (even though she's not completly focused on the combat yet)
Scatter direction: 1d8 ⇒ 1
The bomb lands right behind her though and she is caught in the blast
Reflex sabe for half: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
avoiding most it easily again
Ain't you guys glad I'm not getting those dice rolls for attacks? ;)
Chuffy then runs into the room, around the frog and slices at Vorka..hitting her right in her BIG head.
Poog waits to see what's going on.
Vorka looks straight at Chuffy and says:“Those ears might taste fine stuffed with eyes. And your throwing fire around...two can play that game!.”
Vorka takes a step away from Chuffy and casts a spell summoning a ball of flame in the palm of her hand.
"Lord Longtongue, attack them goblinsis!"

@Revvy: Fair enough. I did not realise it was one target. With regard to Mogmurch's bomb, though, shouldn't it have hit? Technically, the Cannibal was still flat-footed when the bomb was thrown, so it would have been against her flat-footed touch (Touch AC, without her Dexterity)...?
"Chuffy thank Poog; big frog hurt."
He then focuses back on the cannibal.
"Chuffy need flank..."
Chuffy then 5' steps, and waits for someone to take-up a flanking position...
Chuffy: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 = 27, for 1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (3) = 4 damage.

@Luke_Parry your right, I forgot about the dex penalty being flatfooted for not having acted, I'll add some damage
It seems as if Mogmurch bomb exploding dazzled all of you and effected your vision a bit, when you blink your eyes you notice that Vorka is a bit more damage then you thought..and the frog was also caught in the blast.

@luke_Parry Vorka moved back before casting a spell and is now with her back to the wall..it's going to be difficult to flank her (unless you move, provoking from the frog), and flanking with either Vorka or the frog would mean that unless you wait till it's Poog's turn again someone will provoke from the frog. I'm fine with your targeting and critting the frog doing it 4 total damage (no sneak) if you want?
