"If nobody else minds.." Auri will take two of the potions, one each of Bears Endurance and Shield of faith.
"Where might we find this witch and her den of drugs?" she inquires of the alchemist.
"If we can get a cure, would you consider leaving Bloodcove with us?"
| Dungeon Master S |
"Sanguine Pit... You want to go to the Sanguine Pit. It's south of here. I won't go anywhere without my boy healthy, but if you can secure the cure, the REAL cure, then the sky is the limit. Please though, I pray that you know what you're doing. If you mess this up, then my son's life is forfeit."

August Dupine

August will take one of each potion as well. Can't hurt.
Don't think I got hit.
"We will be discreet. We would not want the innocent boy hurt."

Piper lets her allies take the potions, trusting her magic to keep her safe.
"Right, we handled those thugs easy enough. How tough could their boss be?"

As the party works their way through their mission, they begin to draw attention, as people look at you cockeyed as you travel. Getting out of Bloodcove soon is not a bad idea.
You make your way to the extremely seedy tavern in South Bloodcove. There's a lot of cheering and noise coming through the door, so you opt to enter.
The clamour of cheers and shouted bets drowns out any intelligible sounds in this large, crowded bar. A massive aquarium, fifteen feet on a side, dominates the room as a dog-sized lobster creature and a dark green, man-sized fish with fanged jaws circle one another, occasionally trading blows. Heady, pungent smoke fills the air, and the floor is slick with spilled drinks and seawater.
Near the central tank stands a well-dressed and well-rounded woman with raven hair. Towering over her, at seven feet tall, stands her idealized, amazonian reflection. Both women bear a curious glowing rune on their foreheads. The bookies clearly defer to the smaller woman, and everyone keeps their distance from her glamorous bodyguard.
Nearly 80 onlookers crowd the barroom of the Sanguine Pit, along with a half-dozen bookies and wait staff delivering drinks and the drugged concoctions Senzer has been brewing for Lura.
Map is up, but without pogs in case you don't go nuts in here. Just give me the general plan.

Thanks for botting for me. I'm back now, and ready for mischief.
Merisiel shakes her head as she watches Kyra blunder further through the streets of Bloodcove. When they arrive at the tavern, she nods at the rune-bearing twins. "Any bets one of them is who we need to convince to give us the cure? Somebody do the negotiating, and I'll be ready for... contingency purposes." She says the last bit with a wicked smile.

"Do we want to get a feel for this place first... or just go and talk?" asks Auri.
"Just curious about drinking those potions we found. We could go in, have an ale and see what the lay of the land is. I'd not want to have to cut my way through a crowd..."
Werner Albern
|
"Not a bad idea, Auri. I'm happy to case the place first. Maybe you can chat up the patrons?"
Merisiel will wander and look around the place, to see whether she notices anything interesting or out of place that could be useful. Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Other than he rune-marked pair, it looks like this place is doing a LOT of business. The monster fights continue steadily, and it looks like this place is going to go all night. A LOT of money is also changing hands in the crowd...

Auri directs a very Stern Look (tm) at Merisiel. "I do not 'Chat up' people. I may engage them in conversations of mutual interest and advantage however."
Auri cases the area, looking around to see who the movers and shakers are. She pays particular attention to anyone who might be heavily armed or armoured.

Kyra reviews the room carefully, "I think it would be best to do our business now while it's busy. We would draw less attention to ourselves. It looks like the fights has the crowds attention."
Werner Albern

Merisiel nods in agreement to Kyra. "Let's just talk, or should I say 'engage them in conversations of mutual interest and advantage'. I'm not sure how long we'll be able to maintain this low profile, but I get the feeling not much longer."
Merisiel doesn't feel like she's the ideal talker for this. She's hoping someone else will take the lead. Of course, she'd never admit this.

"A summoner... one controls the other to a degree. I'm unsure which is in charge, but I'd be willing to wager that it is the smaller one."

"Well, we wanted to talk to you about renegotiating an employment contract for a friend of ours. Perhaps somewhere quieter?"

It would have been pretty awesome. Sorry
Dupine's attacks are dodged by the surprisingly skilled woman. She doesn't expect the last one, as he strikes with the heel of his palm directly over her heart, sending her reeling.

Auri takes a swing that clocks the woman. She instantly vanishes from sight, for she is an Eidolon and that was a LOT of damage...
Merisiel targets the yelp that comes from thin air after the eidolon goes down: High is good: 1d100 ⇒ 78. She stabs straight and true!
The woman reappears as she bleeds out. Boos and cheers alike pour from the crowd as money changes hands. The Sanguine Pit’s staff quickly realizes that the owner is no more and loots the till and carries away whatever valuables they can reach. The crowd clears out too, a little afraid of what could happen next.
Only the bartender, a man named Weigo, remains and congratulates you offering you a cut of the night’s proceeds. He then serves a round of drinks in honor of his unexpected “promotion” to owner of the Sanguine Pit (He pours one for you even if you decline.)
He eventually gathers the courage to ask, "What was that all about?"

Auri rushes up to the fallen woman to see if she is still alive - and able to be saved.
"We need her alive, remember?" she hisses to Mersiel.
She turns to the bar tender.
"Not your direct concern. Unless she happened to be your employer, in which case you have a new one. If she was your employee, then you'll still need a new one. Can you confirm her name for me?"
