Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |

Hecate stared at Pierce for a few moments... then quietly drew her firearm and checked to make sure it was fully loaded. One couldn't be too careful in a strange land, though she really needed to get a trans-aural system so she could understand what the others were saying...

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

"Oh. Gray said as he approached the line. "Some grass was in the way. It's warning us not to go into the water. Is it poisoned... or does it just have something in it down there?" Gray shrugged. "You'd think whoever put it there would have put up a sign so it'd be easier to see." He moved off away from the water for now.

Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |

Unlike some adventurous people, Hecate had no intention of getting too close to anything marked with a warning sign - she knew all too well what could happen when such things were crossed. More relevantly, her firearm had excellent range - and all she really needed was a clear line of sight in order to be able to shoot anything that got close enough to bother the team.
Perception (Staying on the lookout): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Agent Pierce Brosnan |

on a twenty I miss that by 2.. Couldn't afford to have a high wisdom...the gunslinger considers throwing another stick but decides against it
He tells the man no one else speaks the language of what's going on, before suggesting to the group that they go around.

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

Gray stayed where he was... off in the middle distance away from the water, but keeping the chasm in sight.
He waited for everyone to come over... so they could continue on their way.

Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |

Nothing much was happening yet, and Hecate skirted the area before moving towards Gray and preparing to head onwards. Indeed, locating a place of safety was the most important thing... even if most animals had learned that attacking humans only brought horrible retribution (and deservedly so) upon them. "No signs of civilization yet? Roads, signs, anything?" she inquired of the others.

Roy McCallow |

"Me an Bear could go up an take a look again now that we're outta them mountins."
He steers Bear away from the line. Years of living near fey has curbed much of his curiosity. He's learned that some things are better left unknown. He shudders.

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

Gray started moving hurriedly back towards Nova's position as he saw her moving forward. 'Why do I keep putting my neck on the line for these people..?' He thought as he started moving.

Damian Sol |

Usually that's just what they say right before the giant monster appears silently behind them. =_

Scath Lynx |

Pretty much. River's aren't 'silent and still' in one spot naturally.

Agent Pierce Brosnan |

as previously stated my weapons are drawn
The spy aims both of it's weapons in the vicinity of the danger area but is careful not to aim directly at the girl, never point your weapon at anyone you weren't prepared to kill, that was one of his rules he lived by, and, well, he wasn't prepared to kill a potential ally, and killing pretty girls always left a sour taste in his mouth.

Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |

And now they all seemed like they wanted to investigate what was probably some sort of trouble. Wonderful. That wasn't going to stop her from firing, of course - there was a reason her weapon was drawn - but she would like to avoid getting involved with wild animals. Even now, they could be much stronger and more dangerous than people expected, no matter how well humanity had done at controlling them and keeping them out of civilized areas.

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

Gray slowed and nodded slowly with a sigh. "If it's just quiet, then maybe we can look for the source of the quiet? It's the first interesting thing we've found that wouldn't outright kill us."

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

"Uh. Just things like... beckoning. And stopping motions, stuff like that." Grey shrugged. "Simple body language things. Nothing beyond that."

Scath Lynx |

Scath stops and scratches his ear with his hind leg while watching from afar. Stupid two legs, say cats be dying from curiosity... Be two leg cats be making that true.. that and monkeys who run toward danger like dumb

Damian Sol |

Damian will watch the proceedings, curious as to what is going on. He will draw the rods from his belt, and then begin to idly twirl them around his hands. It appeared to be something that he had done so much that it was habit and done out of reflex as opposed to conscious choice.

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

Gray shrugged and sunk low into the brush, moving forward at a slow but steady pace, as he slipped into the magical silence, scouting out the area within. No one else seemed to be up to the task, so he might as well see what he could do with the information they had... which was close to none. So any was better than what they had.
stealth: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25+1 more stealth if moon is gibbous or more. +3 stealth if moon is in the full phase.
Grey takes 20 combing the area within the sound bubble... unless something stops him, resulting in a 30 perception check.

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

Gray says something to Scath that he'd only be able to understand if he was able to read lips... motioned around, and shrugged. Pretty sure the cat is smarter than the lot of us. And that he's adopted us.

Agent Pierce Brosnan |

The agent stands at the edge of the silence area, watching the others waiting to make sure they didn't suddenly get attacked by something.

Scath Lynx |

Scath continues to lick his hind leg, ignoring Monroe.

Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |

Hecate tilted her head slightly as she looked at the apparent zone of silence... though it wasn't something that would slow down modern troops for more than a moment. Some of them seemed interested in playing around, so she did what most soldiers did when civilians were going a bit wild - she stood on guard, scanned for threats, and worked to protect them.

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

Seeing nothing inside that seemed to be the source... unless the cat was messing with them. Powerful wizards could become cats, after all... Gray would return to the group with a shrug. "I found our furry benefactor once more, but the silent area seems utterly pointless. I guess nothing to glean here." He frowned, and continued moving forward along the river.

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

"I thought that as well. Feel free to go look for yourself. I only found the little lion." Grey shrugged before entering the area of silence.

Damian Sol |

Noticing that Scath appears to be favoring his hind leg, Damian moves to him and says
"Are you injured? I have some minor ability to heal, and would be glad to share it with you.."

Scath Lynx |

Scath looks up as the giant piece of weird looking walking stone strides over. He blinks at it as it gobbles at him in some uknown language. The feline stretches and stands up. It looks at the people playing with the unnatural area, then back to the walking statue.
At the 10 foot range the feline allows the statue to get to before he moves, it's obvious the barding on the animal is finely crafted, as is the packsaddle on it's back. It has bags as well strapped to it, and an odd arrangement of twin and wooden rings that do something.
Then the feline sits back down, blinking at the statue without emotion. Strange golem. Wonder who made golem?

Agent Pierce Brosnan |

Pierce obligingly translates the dragon tongue into the queen's English, figuring that if the beast can write in the language it can understand it.

Scath Lynx |

Scath eyes the human as he says he will heal him if he wants it, then realizes he's translating Golemspeak.
The cat eyes him for a minute, then scratches in the dirt.

Scath Lynx |

The cat gives a feral grin full of sharp teeth.

Hecate, Quiet Techslinger |

Hecate looked down as the cat scratched letters in the dirt... and, for a few moments, felt even more desire to simply take him home with her. Intelligent pets were the best - especially when they could take care of themselves but still curl up with you when you wanted them to.

Roy tries casting detect magic from within the zone.
It works.
The area is covered in Conjuration Magic.

Morrison 'Gray' Monroe |

Gray sticks his head back inside of the bubble, which he's just left. "You lot coming, or have you figured something out?"
