K'Wai
"So, like, how about we split this stuff? I can use that spear okay, but it's kinda like mine already. These potions are, like, pretty tasty stuff. We can share the coin around, I guess?"
K'Wai takes the bull's strength potion & 1 enlarge person, as well as one of the amulets, not knowing what it does.
"Are those amulets, like, magical? Do they give you, like, powers or stuff?"
Zeex
"Dunno... they shiney!"
Morgana Nahari
Morgana sniffs with frustration.
"As the necklaces are taken, I'll have the crossbow, since we aren't dividing in any kind of order."
Race wise I got here 3rd, but combat wise I was probably the least effective. Guess I can't complain if it's a free for all
She begins counting out her lot of the gold.
Note that if anyone decides to just start grabbing gold, she will too.
She can fit about 180 in her belt pouch and the rest in her waterproof bag.
"424g each with change. Unless we want to argue for more?"
Cael Melum
"I wouldn't mind some healing potions, if there is any left. Also the tanglefoot bags are always useful." Looking over the rest of the stuff, Cael doesn't really find anything that interest him. "Humm. Maybe I should grab that sap. Just I case we get into another brawl where we don't want to kill people."
So, that should give me 3 tanglefoot bags, a masterwork sap, 1 cure moderate wounds, 1 cure serious wounds and the 424 gold. We should sell all the mudane stuff that no one claim, but someone should keep the spear since it's magical.
Morgana Nahari
"Well if no one else wants them." Morgana pockets a potion of cure serious wounds, and the sunrods.
These can always come in handy
Morgana then has a closer look at the necklaces that K'wai and Zeex pick up.
Also just pointing out that Morgana may or may not share her knowledge of items and things all the time. If DM wants to put results in a spoiler directed at me, or something else, then that'd be good. Can't let strangers know everything she is capable of just yet ;p

You might want to check again on some of that stuff, I believe the spear has been claimed and K'wai grabbed the bulls strength and one of the enlarge persons. If you want me to use the appraise skill we can but I tend to skip it, the Rum Festival has caused increased trade and you will have no trouble selling everything at Market Value, you can also sell the thing you earned for drinking Barnabus.

K'Wai
"Right, like, so, we'really here captain! We would've been here, like, 2 minutes ago, but that guy wanted a beating, so, like we gave him one. But now we've got, like, more coin and some shiny stuff, so I think we're, like, ready to sign up. If you'll have us, of course, captain."
K'Wai pockets his potions and some of the coins, then offers to carry the extra goods if anyone feels too encumbered by them.
GM Shade
Shoving the beaten orc out the door by the face, she pulls a thin, light green handkerchief from a vest pocket, wiping the muzzle and looking you all over as you plunder the goods.
"Rounds on me...but we'll need a new table." Her drunken bosun rolls her eyes and takes an extraordinarily long time to pick the crew manifest and herself out of a sloth of extreme comfort, heading upstairs.
Lanteri strides strongly forward with an aura of confidence, and its hard to not feel her attention. "So, heard of the treasure yet? I imagine you might have some questions before signing on..."
The crew manifest lies open on the table, with a quill and ink ready nearby waiting. A quick perusal reveals it to be a pseudo-legal document, binding you to the service of Captain Lanteri for the duration of recovery of Redclaw's treasure. Your are to be "boarders and repellers" with board, grub, and grog along with a "non-negotiable" 1/16th share of the booty.
"Patience isn't a virtue I believe in. I want to get back to the sea. Still, I understand you might want more information about what this is all about. Now is your chance."
A few full bottles of dark rum are brought in.
Morgana Nahari
"My profession is a navigator. I hate 'non-lethal' stuff like what we just had to do. I'm glad that it turned out to not be a serious affair. My role is more support than anything.
So I would like to know if my particular set of skills is useful in this endeavor.
Mind telling a bit more about what this treasure is, and where it might take us?"
GM Shade
"I can understand why you would wish to know, your party is promised 1/16th of whatever Redclaws treasure we find." She unstoppers a bottle of rum and takes a big swig as she turns to Morgana, "Skills as a navigator will be useful, I know not much of her treasure other than it was a large hoard. I don't know exactly where it will take us but I know how to find it."
Rikkivar Greenfur
Rikkivar accepts the idea of treasure, but his concerns lie in a different area. "I bring fire and acid and painful bleeding from the eyes to the table. A small work area will help with that. I'm definitely interested in learning anything you know about who guards the treasure. Or what, as the case may be."
Zeex
"... and if not a 'who', then a 'what'?" Zeex says, adding to Rikkivar's question.
K'Wai
"I can sail, swim, climb, and spot pretty darn well. Like, really well, for sure. Plus, like, I can breathe underwater, so I've got that going for me. I like the idea of treasure, and a sixteenth share sounds good to me. Like, count me in, captain."
K'Wai signs the paper on the appropriate place.
GM Shade
Lanteri nods at K'wai as he signs, Those talents are always good on a sea faring ship, glad to have you aboard." She sighs as she listens to Rikkivar speak, "A small work space can certainly be cleared on the ship for you to work. I know nothing of what guards the treasure, I only know how to find it. You are my extra muscle, in case we need protection at sea or aid in defeating things that might guard the treasure. You will be paid handsomely however, if you sign," she glances down at the manifest.
Zeex
Zeex marks a crude 'ZX' on the paper with some trepidation, followed by a grin. "Me sign up!" He doesn't read the words on the paper at all, in fact seems leery of the whole process though he does it. "Werdz be bad... but me sign!" For a goblin, he's fairly cosmopolitan and at least doesn't burn the hateful written words...
GM Shade
Lanteri stifles a small laugh at Zeex, but nods approvingly. She points upstairs, "Yamitsy told me you handled yourself well in the fight despite your small stature little goblin, I am glad you and that blade will be on board. There is still a feather bird or two that mean me harm." she rolls her eyes.
Zeex
"Me protect you, pretty lady!" he says boldly, then adds... CAPTAIN Pretty Lady."
Cael Melum
Cael moves forward. "I'm here because I could use the work. If there is a treasure at the end of this, then so much the better." He looks down at the manifest, grabs the ink pen and sign his name. "I'm a decent sailor and if something gets in the way. I can fry it from a distance. I'm ready to leave when you give the order."
Morgana Nahari
Morgana signs like the rest of them.
"I too would like to get back out to sea as soon as possible." she looks over at K'wai "And while I can't breathe underwater, I have been known to walk over it, when the need arises."
GM Shade
After Cael signs she nods, "Right. After you've signed on I suggest you omit the rest of the festival. I've got a private room for you all here, and work starts at dawn! I want you reporting clean and sober. We have some work to do before we set sail so you will have time to settle your affairs." After Morgana steps up and scratches her signature she jumps up "That's that then. Enjoy your last free night." Lanteri winks. "Come morning, crew will gather just north of here, on the short piers...there's still plenty to be done before we set sail for the treasure." She pauses for a moment and then continues, "I'll be at the Sturdy Seawall should you need something." Yamtisy hurriedly rolls the scroll and snatches the quill, like the annoyed little accountant she is, grumpily stomping half-wasted after her captain into the afternoon streets.
Zeex
"She pretty for longshanks... You think she like short green menfolk?" Zeex says with a bright glint in his eye as he watches her walk off.... She did say where she staying... if need something... me need something!
K'Wai
"Like, I dunno, Zeex. She seems pretty intense, like, and I have a feeling she ain't the type for fraternization with her staff, man. Like, there's gotta be a workin' girl or goblin or what have you around here. Maybe you should, like, look for one of them with our new found coin."
K'Wai finishes his cup of rum before gathering his personal belongings (including the newly acquired coins) and heading up to the indicated room.
Zeex
"pfffft... me good at bouncy-bouncy... no try, no do!" he says, ever hopeful.
Cael Melum
"From the way she was eyeing Morgana, I don't think you have the right gear for that encounter." He gives the group a big grin and start picking up his stuff. That should keep him away from the Captain for a while. He then heads out to the private rooms, trying to find one where he will be comfortable.
Zeex
Zeex thinks about that for a while... a long while... before the implications get through to his tiny goblin brain... he just nods and shrugs... "Hey! More fun that way!"
Morgana Nahari
"We really should've talked about the ship's rules... Guess we'll get to know them soon enough."
She gives Zeex a bit of a worried look.
"You don't want to give the captain the wrong impression. Besides she seems the type to take want she wants, so you'll know if she's interested."
Morgana stretches as she walks towards her room.
"I'm going to do as she suggested, sort out some things, then rest.
There's going to be a lot to take in tomorrow"
She reaches the base of the stairs before turning around.
"And so I, Morgana Nahari, bid you gentlemen of fortune goodnight."
As she enters her room she does out - "Don't be late!"
Zeex
Zeex goes to bed with thoughts of the captain on his brain... needless to say his dreams are rather intense... and wet. Some of them involve not only the captain, but Morgana as well... either alone or as part of a threesome... Assuming it's otherwise a quiet night, he wakes up with a little sigh and a lot of wishful thinking....
GM Shade
Barring any bumps in the night you all are awoken come the morning by a loud, incessant, annoyingly crisp bell coming from the docks outside. Sneakily peering out the 2nd story portholes you spy a double score of rapscallions in some sluggish manual labor near 2 small boats on the short pier. The boats are marked with the visage of a black crow haloed by a delicate crown...
K'Wai
K'Wai grabs his bag and weapons, heading out the door with Rikki.
"Like, Rikki, man, what do you think this trip's gonna be like? Like, huge waves and storms and stuff? Boarding other pirate ships and taking their bounty? Like, I'm excited, man."
K'Wai
"Like, yeah, man. Seeing all kinds of new places and, like, adventuring on the high seas sounds pretty amazing. Have you done this kind of work before? I, like, worked on plenty of boats before, but, like, never anything so exciting as a pirate ship!"
Morgana Nahari
Morgana, blissfully unaware of Zeex's dreams, awakes to the sounding of the bell.
She gathers her things, putting aside her bowl and spoon, before dressing quickly. On her way out, she buys a bowl of porridge or whatever fast breakfast they have on hand, and eats it while quickly making her way to the docks.
Zeex
Zeex wakes up and tries to ignore the bell, but that only works for a few moments and he crawls out of bed. He stumbles downstairs, donning his gear as he maneuvers the steps designed for big folk. He grabs several sweet rolls with butter and a strong mug of kaf and heads for the boat, drinking and munching along the way...
When he gets to the docks, he sees the others already there and grins. [b]"You be fastest, yes. He ogles MOrgana a moment... she gets the weird feeling from the glint in his eye that he considers the momentary exchange of glances to be a first date. Luckily (for him, probably?), that only lasts a brief moment before he looks instead at what he assumes is their contracted ship. Since he doesn't read, he looks for any familiar faces on board.
Cael Melum
Cael wakes up at the sound of the bell and look out of the window. Two small boat? A black crow haloed by a delicate crown... We never asked if she had a symbol to recognize her ship by... Let's go check this out then. He gets dressed and grab his stuff. On the way out, he takes whatever food the can and eats it on the way over. When he sees anyone from the group, he heads toward them. "Morning all! Anyone seen our Captain so far?"
GM Shade
They tie off the small boats, which look like a dinghy and slightly more ornate captain's gig and leap to the docks with agility. In addition to Lanteri and her accountant, there is a young man who might be the most handsome being you have ever seen, who says something like "Well, you're either very eager or didn't sleep a wink." his voice a cool breeze. A fourth, obviously Chelish dark mistress introducing herself as Iulia looks you over, tapping a wet quill to a rather large checklist. "We were expecting f*~$ing more." she states simply.
Lanteri breaks in as Cael approaches "Easy now, that was only first bell. Ah, here comes another...*gasp* he even looks sober!"
As you wait around making idle chatter more and more of the crew make their way to the pier from town. It's getting close to 10 sailors in all when Lanteri addresses everyone "Listen up. I want this repair and resupply to be quick but thorough. You all have tasks for the next few days and I expect nothing short of excellence."
She starts rattling off various tasks which, to those who know about sailing, find rather drill and ordinary. If you have something like profession(sailor) you might be able to infer the length of the voyage she is preparing for based on what's needed
Iulia calls you all over and fills you in on your specific duty: you are to aquire a new carved wooden masthead for the Magpie Princess. The more she speaks, the clearer it becomes that she indeed has a supernatural talent with curses "Just shut the f@+@ up and listen a motherf%+~ing moment. I'm going to give you these 250 f#@&ing gold coins, and if you think I'm giving you even a copper more, you need to go the f*#% home, get a sharp f%~@ing stick, and cram it up your pointy nose...'cause the f@!#ing brains inside are f!%& useless." she crosses a few things off her list and writes in others, her sharp, jet black locks slashing the morning air "Did you f@*@ing say something?"
K'Wai
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 profession (Sailor)
"Like, sure, man. We'll like grab a masthead for the ship, like, super fast. Did you, like, want a certain kind? Like, a mermaid, or a dragon's head, or something even cooler? I like the mermaid, myself, like, but I guess that doesn't matter, right?"
K'Wai stows the majority of his gear in his assigned spot, keeping his spear, coin, and potions on him.
Zeex
"shouldnt magpie princess have magpie masthead?" zeex asks curiously
