"Hey, the mountains behind the tall tree-like man are part of the Kullan Dei system and are located in the border region between Dtang Ma and Nagajor. In fact, this temple is in the foothills of those very mountains... reckon that is a bad thing?"
The shelves carved into the walls of this small building are lined with bottles and vials of many sizes. Although faint scent of incense hangs in the air, nothing looks like it has been disturbed for at least a year.

"Not a bad start." Salouris says as he manuevers around the freshly set pillows.
Pointing to the eastern wall, the elf begins to lecture. "That massive elephant-esque creature: he seems to be doing quite well for himself doesn't he? Well, here" a point "it shows that his siuccesses are not all as they seem. The lesser creatures are not as strong individually, but are smart enough to lure him into an ambush."
Whirling to the south, the occultist obverses the horned figure below the stuck colossus. "And that trap in turn offended our host: the lady in pain here is Yamatsumi herself. Though whether she cared for the beast or actually invested herself in it is a question that would be interesting to have the answer to."
The final western wall causes Salouris to grow quiet for a moment. The elf seems mostly lost, but his expression strains to not make his ignorance plain. "And I'm not sure Pitbull, but you might be right. That tree figure is a kami - a big one. It's...unclear why he is barring the woman's path. It could be that there are things up here to dangerous for mere 'mortals', but if that's the case I would have imagined we would have been headed off in much the same way."

"What do we do?" the elf asks surprised. "Why we record it. Bring it back with us, compare it with other records. If these sort of markings are similar to those in other Yamatsumi shrines then we can compare the aritstry of them against expected cultural trends. If they are different, then we note the contrasts. Was the local faith believers of a variant canon of sect of the Volcano god? Is there something about this place specifically that caused its own legends to arrive? We note everything we can because the more we learn now expands what we can learn later. And there is much power to be found in the past."
Salouris takes a quick breath from the admonishment before off-handedly continuing. "Although if you were just referring to the 'now' now...north I suspect?"
A polished, fifteen-foot-tall stone statue of a coiled snake sits at the center of this room.
Tanbaru looks perplexed and remarks, “Strange. I don’t remember this statue at all.”

Puttin a hand on Pitbull to slow her progress, "Slow up, that's like a crazy big ass Dark Naga, not just a snake," Looking at it a little longer, "But well, its no one in particular, just a basic exaggerated figure of one,"
Pondering what all this can mean, Harmonious will toss his hair, "Seems pointless"
Ignoring the to and fro amongst the party, Tanbaru continues to frown at the statue, periodically shaking his head.
“Looks like it’s possible to climb up on that thing.”
You change your mind about the ‘topazes.’ You believe they are actually gem-shaped vessels of honey, orientated to catch the light in such a way that they *sparkle*
After all, honey can last for centuries without going rancid.
The honey containers are more interesting – perhaps some kind of Numerian super-polymer?

"Hasn't come alive and tried to smash us to pieces yet, reckon climbing on it might change that. Once we know this place is safe I be happy to play on the statue, but save climbing til we have found these three people we know are living here"

Pitbull and Asbo round the statue, looking for three ambushers.
Tanbaru flits nonchalantly to the apex of the idol, draping himself over the top of the stone serpent’s head, like the knotted-hankie of a Taldan holiday-maker.
“Is it just statues you have a problem with Pitbull, or are menhirs and milestones out to get you too?”
The oni smirks. “How many statues do you see this time?”
The coordinated shouts of a pair of reptilian humanoids, wipe the smile off the mean-spirited outsider’s face.
They cry out in unison.
There’s a pregnant pause, before yellow-eared Kolmorrow clarifies. “I meant the Sssnow-cassster.”
“Praissse Hsss-a-mira!” Marsiass narrows his blood-shot eyes, concentrating on Salouris. “Vamp cosss-player for me!”
The gold eared reptilian responds. “Sssno problem. I’ll just throw down my weaponssss.”
“Human, catch!”
A red-eyed creature *pops* into view down the hall from Pitbull, with a drawn longbow. “Sssee me now, HUMAN?”

A third lizard-folk appears, in Salouris’ line of sight. “I SssAID THE ELF MAGE AND CASssMARON INFIDEL FIRSssT! LIKE THISssss!”
A ray of flame gushes from the pink-tongued reptilian’s open hand.

Unfortunately for Harmonius, as he moves within 10’ of his opponent, a green serpent leads with its fangs as it slithers 5' from behind cover to block the braavi duelist’s path.
The wily serpent dodges the swashbuckler's parry and spinning slice.

In recent years the prevalence of Nagaji agents in the Pathfinder Society has greatly increased.
Green’s venom-filled fangs are no match for Harmonius’ Vitamin D-rich blood. The swashbuckler easily *shrugs* off the poison’s effects.
With the striking speed of a South Arcadian carniv-fish, Dusk’s gladius ‘ring-barks’ the serpent’s torso. The pneumatic sound it makes in response is now familiar to the entire party.
The pink-tongued humanoid *waggles* a smoking index finger at the two front-liners. “Your weapon ss-still not inflicting all the damage you think it ss-should, elf?”

“You move quicker than I thought, hoo-man ... Ssssss! Where hasss you gone?”
Uneasy about losing sight of Pitbull, Marsiass (red) moves back from the 'hoo-bear' and hurries through the open eastern doorway, down the temple steps and out of sight.
Kalmorrow (gold) also heads east, pulling a very similar disappearing act.
The green snake lashes out at the last one to hurt it – Dusk!

As Hailey’s faith manifests as a sun-glistening rainbow, radiating out to heal her companions, Ngon Le snarls through the stone walls at Kolmorrow.

Salouris aims at speeding up the process.
Ngon Le steps sideways and then past Dusk into the eastern chamber, before reappearing not far from Kishara.
“Now for the infid… WHAT’SSS THISSS! SHHHE’SSS GONE!!”
The reptilian mutters angrily as she blasts the stone floor in front of the Pathfinder rogue with another scorching ray. “Kolmorrow, find the Sssun Priessst!”

Tengus everywhere should rejoice as Harmonius considers training in Craft (Chelish Food).
His blurrr of silverware slices green into meaty disks, creating the perfect topping for a snake-lover’s pizza!

Ngon Le gives Dusk a scornful look as she ducks his gladius thrust without slowing down.
The Slayer then does an end around his quarry, looking to cut her off. As he rounds the corner for home like a greyhound after a hare, he finds his opponent alright.
Just not the one he was expecting ...
“Marsssiasss, you took you ti …” Kolmorrow begins before stuttering:
“WAIT! You not … HEY! Don’t I know you from sssomewhere?”

As Pitbull moves through the open doorway, an arrow splinters the stone plinth beside her right eye.

Undeterred she continues into the temple courtyard to set up a distracting flank with her AC.
Marsiass's shaking head draws Asbo's attention, resulting in a firm *PECK* on the lizardman's left cheek.

Pitbull smiles at the shattered arrow that missed, and that her and Asbo have the thing in their grasp "You'll make a fine pair of boots" she hisses with malice, her brutish Falchion patterned in the utilitarian style of the Belkzen Hold Orcs looking vicious in her hands.
Asbo hisses, the Owlbear about to commit the sort of violence that the vicious beasts are renowned for, blood already on its beak.
Feeling the heat directed her way, Kishara draws a short sword and advances 90’ in a different direction past Tanbaru, who offers:
“Hey, everyone! I’m OK in case you were wondering…”
Deciding that Asbo’s little peck is going to have to last him all day, Marsiass blows a kiss to Pitbull as he retreats up the steps through the eastern doorway.
“Ssseee yer, sssoft-shhhell. Have a nicccce day!”
“Ready to surrender yet?”
Kolmorrow charges away from Dusk in order to harass Hailey, calling back over his shoulder, “Yessssir! I sssurrender!”
