You don't have to make another SR check as I recall once that spell is successful, it will always be successful.

Gert swings her club at the snake, but the thing refuses to stand still and be beaten. Likewise, Old Lace's bite glances off the iron carapace and her talons miss entirely! Wulfren's musket fires again, but merely hits the ground nearby. Veviane's icy ray hits the snake square in the face, but cannot seem to defeat its innate spell defense. Ic's splash of acid, however, burns another few small holes in the thing. In retaliation, it goes after the single opponent that has been able to damage it thus far.

Gert strikes the snake with her shillelagh, but it moves quickly to lessen the blow. However, it is visibly damaged! Old Lace and Wulfren have considerably less luck, as does Veviane, but Ic's acid strikes the thing again!
If it weren't a machine, it would not have enjoyed this turn of events at all. As it is, it merely moves away from this new threat and attacks Ic once more.

Liam doesn't hear anything at the door, confirms everyone else is ready, then opens it. He steps inside and sees a few desks, three locked chests, and a locked standing cabinet, all placed along a wall facing the West Exhibit Hall, made of smoky glass. Fading in and out of vision, the shadowy form of a slablike table holding an unconscious, vivisected human man, his chest rising slowly with each breath, is superimposed over the southernmost desk. Medical implements and alchemical devices are spread across nearly every surface, some more substantial in form than others.
I've moved everyone into the room, feel free to adjust your positions however you like.

Liam suppresses the urge to gag at the site of the man. He moves over, attempting to revive or free the man.

It sounds a bit like maybe the guy isn't fully there? If that's the case, Liam will check all the locked things for traps and try to unlock anything that seems untrapped (after first doing a quick look around the room for keys). I'll go ahead and make the rolls, so people don't have to wait on me.

As the orphans begin rummaging around in the small room, Old Lace emits a deep rumbling sound and turns her head to the southwest corner of the room. Immediately, a fetchling woman becomes visible as she throws a small flask flies out of that corner, narrowly missing Veviane and striking at Gert's feet! Acid flies out and burns Gert and Veviane!
