Alan continues running south towards the fray, jumping over the bubbling brook...just barely making it across.

The Minotaur's rage is subsiding as each pump of its heart causes it to lose more blood.

Qioté wheels his wolf around, and charges the minotaur again.

Charge Attack, Flanking: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 + 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 + (3) + 2 + 1 = 15

Again Qioté's lance pierces the Minotaur's side with a mighty CRASH. The Minotaur begins looking desperately about itself for a way to escape. Janira does not notice this and steps just outside of its reach in an attempt to disarm it yet again.

Disarm Battleaxe: 1d20 ⇒ 16

Her whip wraps around the axe, but the Minotaur is able to keep its grasp on the weapon. Weakened by bloodloss and losing the will to fight it tries to slip from the combat, more of the hardened resin cracking off its hide.

"Surrender, and we will accept! Fight, and I fear you only have death to look forward to."

Qioté stands his ground, pointing the lance at the beast. If it doesn't surrender, he stabs him again.

Readied attack:

It continues to try to run away and is brought down by Qioté's lance.

Janira collapses as the strain of the chase finally gets to her, saying all the while, "Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou. I would be dead if you hadn't found me in time, and you even managed to fend off the Minotaur! You can all be certain of a glowing recommendation on the report for your heroism." She eyes everyone from her position on the ground and asks, "So what have you found out about the caves? Anything interesting?"

Great going Qioté! I do like that this scenario has an opportunity for cavaliers to shine.
"There is a pool in the caves sacred to the Gillmen. We spoke with one, named Uori. If you meet him again, he is deaf but can read lips and speak our language."

Janira takes some potions from her bag and drinks them, the wounds she has visibly closing. She continues to pant heavily, but her body is uninjured now. "Sounds like you guys will have an interesting report. Anyway, the day is growing shorter, let's camp here for the night before heading back to the Grand Lodge."

Mission over.
Primary Success Condition
The PCs successfully complete their main mission so long as they manage to identify at least one of the carvings in area B2 and explore the Caves of the Pilgrim thoroughly, including areas B1, B2, B3, either B4 or B5, and B6. Doing so earns each PC 1 Prestige Point.
Secondary Success Condition
Over the course of the adventure, the PCs have multiple opportunities to explore, report, and cooperate. If a PC successfully accomplishes three of the following five objectives, that PC impresses the Three Masters and fulfills the secondary success condition: heed Janira’s order to flee into the caves when the minotaur first attacks, identify at least two of the carvings in area B2, explore both areas B4 and B5, prevent the minotaur from killing Janira, or take good notes during the Confirmation. Taking good notes represents the Pathfinder keeping precise records to ensure the accuracy of her report to the Society, but a player need not have written a small novel; the goal is simply to make a sincere effort at recording several discoveries, drawing pictures of what they found, mapping out several of the encounter areas, or creating some other documentation of the experience. Fulfilling the secondary success condition earns that PC 1 Prestige Point.
Sounds like 2 Prestige and Full gold to me. I'll have your chronicles done in the next couple of days.

No day job...somehow. Will probably change that before we start our next scenario.

You receive an urgent messenger early in the morning. Looking outside the night is pitch black and you think it can't be more than 3 or 4 hours past midnight. "Come quickly, Venture Captain Dreng requests your assistance in a most important matter!" Before you know it you are standing before his office in the Grand Lodge.

Dreng opens the door and ushers everyone inside. "Good evening Pathfinders. I am very proud to call you fellow seekers of lost lore and I have an assignment for you. An unnamed siege castle has stood in the Cairnlands for hundreds if not thousands of years, magically sealed after the death of its forgotten master. But recently, a minor earthquake rocked the land, accomplishing in moments what dozens of scholars, sages, and adventurers could not achieve in years—the quake caused part of the siege castle to collapse, opening its interior for the first time in centuries. The locals now call this tower the Fallen Fortress. We took this opportunity to send a somewhat experienced agent named Balenar Forsend into the tower to see if any knowledge lies within. That was a week ago. We worry something happened to Balenar and need a new team to either rescue him or recover his remains.

"Normally we'd gather a randomized team of pathfinders together, but you seem to work well together and we're hoping where one failed your teamwork will pull you through. Unfortunately we do not have more information on this mission. Will you go and rescue your fellow Pathfinder?"

My apologies Qioté, I doubt you'll have the room to charge with your wolf in the tower. It is very small.

Vindlér thanks his lucky stars that he is well-suited to rising early as the Venture Captain's messenger rouses him from his bed in the early morning hours. He rolls out of bed and summons an apprentice from the armory to help him don his armor. Once he is geared up, he gathers his pack, grabs a piece of hard tack from the mess hall, and makes his way to Dreng's office.

He stands at attention during the briefing and listens intently to the details that are available. He only answers when the Captain asks his question. "Yes sir. We will find Agent Forsend and bring him home, one way or the other. I'm assuming that there must be some sort of dangers residing within the tower now, so should we endeavor to seal the tower again when we have recovered Forsend? Of course, while we are there, we'll do what we can to record any notes we can as Agent Gavix recently demonstrated for us. Are there any other objectives we should complete?"

Well, that's the risk you run as a cavalier pathfinder!

"Rescue mission? Of course!"

Dreng shakes his head, "No, if it took the earth shaking to break the tower open I can hardly dare to think of a way to shield it again. Other than getting Balenar out of there are no further objectives, though if you find any lore, any pieces of ancient history, or knowledge take it for further study. This is all secondary of course to getting our Pathfinder, and yourselves, out alive."

The journey does not take very long, walking for a four or so hours while keeping the fortress in sight allows you to reach its outskirts before noon. The ruined siege castle now being called the Fallen Fortress rises out of the churned earth of the Cairnlands. No doors or windows mar the otherwise smooth expanse of the tower’s walls. The tower is quatrefoil in plan; its eastern wing has largely collapsed, exposing the interior floors to the open air. Only the topmost level seems whole, though its eastern portion hangs precariously over the mountain of rubble left by the collapse. At ground level, the rubble frames a gaping hole in the side of the building that provides access to the tower’s darkened interior.

You are able to pick your way through the rubble with little trouble to head into the tower proper. He raises his weapon, ready to strike once the creature is within reach.

Anthys tries to break free of the web.
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
However, he doesn't get the right leverage, and remains entangled.
"Foul vermin! Vindlér, keep it off me for a few seconds. I'm almost out of this web."
Entangled is -4 Dex, so if Vindlér is adjacent (+2 AC) Anthys has AC 20.

The spider eagerly drops down to eat Anthys now that he's in its web. Vindlér makes that difficult by cracking part of its carapace open with his morningstar. This doesn't deter the spider as it tries to reach its prey.

Spider Bite!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

In its haste it barely manages to avoid eating dirt.

Qioté dismounts, and realizes he has no ranged weapons. Reminded of his childhood, he looks for a rock to throw. Picking up a good one, he tosses it at the spider, and misses by a mile.

Vindlér raises his weapon for another strike at the arachnid. As he swings away at the spider, he tries to gain its attention to draw it off of Anthys while the soldier looses himself from the webbing. "Here! Look here, ya great oversized, too-many-legged beast!"

Ezren grumbles to himself, "I should have pulled out my crossbow and put on my armor before walking in here."

He shuffles around the melee to get a better shot.

Acid Splash!: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 4 = 8

Too worried about hitting his compatriots his aim is off and the acid splashes harmlessly on the ground.
