"Hmm, the Vendor gave us some quip about mummy's curses from across the sea?" Lizbeth says uncertainly, standing up and brushing the dust from their uniform before nodding to the sage. "Right! Let us be off, i am sure we can follow the trail of amulets to meet our vendor and 'convince' him."
Prepared, Lizbeth starts off towards tge town, asking around for signs of their vendor to try and get answers for the Sapphire sage.

Red racks his brain, trying to recall anything useful about the history of important Osiriani families interred in or around Absalom as well as local vendors trafficking in rare objets d'art.

Like a pack of bloodhounds, you rapidly track down the same lady who hawked you your amulet. She appears to be hawking different wares today, and seems oblivious to the fact that Ursahla is not a dealer in Osirian antiquities.
"Get your genuine Taldan lances here, as carried by the greatest knights of that storied Empire" she calls to the crowd...

![]() |

I have heard that you are a dealer of genuine historical artifacts. I am an avid collector interested in acquiring more Osiriani antiquities for my collection. But I was hoping for something... more substantial than a trinket or two. I would like to purchase an entire collection. As part of this deal I would need to make sure your suppliers are honest. I was hoping I could meet with them. There would, of course, be a substantial finder's fee in it for you.

Red twitches his prehensile tail, caressing the merchant's silk headscarf. "Madame Merchant, if my friend wishes to purchase what you have to offer, you should count your lucky stars. My patience, however, is at an end. We purchased your bauble, we expect the tale. Now, thank you."

Suddenly recognising the party she looks rather shocked, especially at the confrontation.
She replies very clearly "Seeing as I am robbed and threatened by these people, I have no option but to give them the information they wish before they take it by force"
You wonder how many in the market heard the rather clear message.
"My supplier is a man named Vonraig, whom I hired a few urchins to shadow after his most recent sale. According to their reports, Vonraig purchased bright green chalk and slipped into the sewers below the Petals District before emerging with a small bag that jingled like coins." She provides clear directions and note that those sewers have
undergone repairs and expansion over the past month.
There is now quite an audience wondering what is going on.

![]() |

Ursahla, responds with equal volume.
You're the one selling stolen art. That's right, stolen. You had no claim to what those looters were selling, just as they had no claim to remove it from those tombs in the first place. And you just admitted that you knew!

Wincing slightly at the noise caused by their mark, Lizbeth turns to the crowd with a smile and tries to get them to disperse and mind their own business. With her back to the group, Lizbeth begins to speak, hoping to woo the market gathering.
"Nothing to see here folks! The Eagle Knights kindly bid you carry on with your day as we question this man. I hear the fruit seller over there has a great deal on fresh plums!" She speaks loudly, her voice easily carrying.

"You have taken what you want by threat and intimidation, now we know the virtue of an Eagle Knight" the vendor scowls "Now begone the lot of you" - the shill is shaken and keen to be rid of you all.

Red tips his hat to the merchant. "Thank you for your assistance."
Red turns to their Scarab Sages companion, "Well, Mavaro, shall we seek out this Vonraig or first trace his steps into the sewers beneath the Petals District?"
He looks around at the party, "Anybody know anything about Vonraig or why he might need green chalk?"

Shrugging, but glad the crowd decided to leave anyway, Lizbeth gives the 'honest merchant' a sarcastic smile as her left fist clenches tightly. Good, cause I might have clocked 'em one... she thinks bitterly as the crook flees them. Spinning on her heel, the smile is immediately back as they discuss their next move.
"I will go ask around too to see if anyone has heard of Vonraig I guess, or about any strange findings in the sewers around that part of town."

Asking about the bazaar you come up with nothing, but in a seedy dive of questionable repute you quickly bear fruit...
"Vonraig? No you don't want to deal with him, friend, he's one of low repute and dishonest ways - a burglar and thief - and... he's a vampire for sure if ever I saw one!" - further questioning leaves you in doubt he's ACTUALLY a vampire, but you realise there is something untoward going on.
The need for green chalk is not something that comes up with anything obvious, you suppose it is because most builders and engineers are using white chalk, green (perhaps) would differentiate any markings.

![]() |

"Lizbeth, did I ever tell you the one about the dhampir who bore fruit? No? You'd never touch a blood orange again."
Green chalk? Hmm. Wonder if it has the same effect on engineers that green M&Ms have on tieflings...
"To the sewers in the Petal District, friends?"

![]() |

Groaning good naturedly at Red's terrible jole, Lizbeth slaps the Tiefling on the shoulder and sets off with a smile. Before heading into the sewers, however, the Eaglr Knight draws forth a slender ivory wand and acrivates it, causing her skin to shimmer with near-invisible armour before it then fades completely.
"Ready Boys n Girls!" she laughs as they drop into the sewers, making sure she had her boots on. "Let's be quiet like eh?"
As they come across the wall, Lizbeth checks it over for signs of traps or danger as Mavaro begins to take it down.

The last bricks are pulled out of the way, revealing the chamber beyond. Over a dozen small, terra cotta statues of humans equipped to perform common chores line the north and south walls, and at least as many urns and coffers are scattered throughout the room. The eastern sarcophagus is partly open, and disintegrating shreds of linen nearby attest to someone having ransacked the contents.

![]() |

Ursahla lets the others know what she sees (and what she doesn't).

![]() |

"Well we seem to have found the ransacked tomb." Lizbeth keeps her voice low as they creep through the sewers. "But no body? And why is there an osirion style tomb in Abalom's sewers." She shrugs at her questions, knowing they will likely need to beat the answers out of someone.
"Right, let us get the amulets back eh?"

![]() |

Aren't Osirian style tombs usually trapped somehow? Maybe we should check carefully for any traps. Can someone search for magic in the area?
Maybe take 20 to search for traps? I think Mavaro has the best Perception in the group and can detect magic.

![]() |

I could probably clear a 10 foot leap, but that might not help the rest of you.

![]() |

"I can fly over it, but I doubt I can carry any of you. Any way to trigger the trap without killing ourselves or finding a way to move around it?"
After Mavaro describes the trap, Red gives their problem some consideration. "Not for the squeamish, but I could vomit a swarm of spiders and send them through the trap. The spell should targets living creatures, so I think that might work."
Red opens his mouth wide, coughs twice, and vomits forth a swarm of spiders that spills to the floor and moves toward the trapped area.

![]() |

Looking sideways at Red as the spiders crawled from his throat and onto the trap, Lizbeth finds herself shuddering involuntarily. Rolling her shoulders and cracking her knuckles, the Eagle Knight, begins to move forwards once her allies had confirmed the trap's demise. Stepping over crawling vermin, she shook her head as she stalked forwards.
"Well, that looked nasty, ready friends?" she whispers behind her.

As Red's glitter show settles over the thugs, Lizbeth gives a piercing laugh! "You really know how to party Red! Poor boys, glitter gets everywhere you know! Rolling her shoulders, the Eagle Knight aets her stance low and brings her hands up like the claws of a great beast, mimicking the fighting style of the great Wyrms.
Her eyes then focus as she fuels her anger and her fingers shift into actual draconian claws and her skin hardens into scales. Leaping forwards, she strikes at the Thug in a clashing orange silk shirt.
