@Mohok, you haven't been picked up and dropped yet have you? I thought you made your reflex save vs the whirlwind? So you should still be on the balcony near Zarunkumar for now...

Mohok fires his buffed up bow and shoots an arrow at the elemental, piercing it's winds and dispersing much of it's "mass"

Belka reapplies some more magical cold to Moohok's arrows

At the same time Zarunkumar fires her crossbow at the elemental but fails to get her bolt anywhere near the center of the elemental (doesn't hit AC)

Actually, upon reflection, I think it is not possible to ready an action both to rage and to attack because you can only ready one single action, even if one of them is free (it is discused here btw). So, I will instead enter rage now (free action) and ready my action to attack the elemental when it comes at melee range.

Scarab Sages

Zarunkumar fires again at the elemental but misses.

Mohok fares a bit better as he fires his bow at the elemental and let's loose an arrow..it hits, but the damage it is causing seems to be minor.

Belka starts to rage and readies for when the elemental comes into melee range You've seen it strike every time from reach, it's never been in melee range other then the time it changed into a whirlwind. To reach it you would have had to 5ft step of the balcony for each of the attacks it's made against you guys this far ...I'm ok with you changing your action if you want if you do it before it's the elemental's turn...since raging now might not be the best use of your rounds/day you can rage...Or you can jump of the balcony to take one attack against it and then fall to the floor..which sounds cool enough to be allowed ;)

Mohok sighs in relief as the elemental disperses, saying in his deep rumble, "Nice work, everyone! We were a pretty good team there, against a tough beast."

He descends the stairs to the main floor of the cathedral and takes a careful look around, trying to understand better what happened here and where the captives might have been taken. In his search he notices something odd about the altar and calls out, "Hey, look at this!"

He opens a small, hidden door on the side of the altar and sees that much of the inside is hollow. "It's got a bunch of jewelry in it, and this funny hat!" He holds up a red fez with a black tassle and says, "Anyone want to see if there's magic on any of this stuff?"

From Perception spoiler: The altar is hollow and contains assorted jewelry as well as a fez that detects as magical. There is also a pearl that detects as magic.

Mohok then takes a careful look at the floor of the cathedral, studying tracks, blood trails, anything that might give an indication of the direction the captives were taken after the slaughter.

That's exactly what I meant, forgive the vague wording.

Once Kiyoshi has studied the magical items and determined what they are, Mohok says, "Well, those might come in handy. Let's go find our captives, eh?"

He follows the tracks to the stairs the and leads the way up.

Scarab Sages

It seems Mohok was only able to see drag marks from above and couldn't see they lead up a staircase since there's doors blocking his view...but let's assume he put Ragnar and Belka on the right track and they are able to follow the tracks.

(Taking a bit of liberty here and assume that you will all meet up at the top of the staircase.)

The people on the ground floor (Belka, Birgit and Ragnar) have to move through a set of double doors that lead through a library to get there

A splendidly carved marble corridor cuts through the center of this chamber, connecting a pair of huge bronze doors to the south to a pair of colorful wooden doors to the north. Freshly painted images of the sun cover the latter, while a massive barricade of broken shelves and upturned tables blocks the southern doors—clearly the main entrance to the cathedral.
Oddly, the piled furniture actually cuts through not only the arches lining the corridor but also the columns that support them, as if they were insubstantial.
Beyond these arches, two dim stone rooms flank the central corridor, packed with pile upon pile of books, tomes, and scrolls. Although dozens of shelves stand throughout, most of the books are scattered haphazardly on the floor, many torn or otherwise damaged.

The exterior doors are locked and barricaded. Removing the barricade requires 1 hour of work.

(Going to assume the people downstairs rush past here for now, you can always come back to check if you want)

Scarab Sages

When you all meet up again on the balcony next to what seems to be the only set of stairs connecting the floors

At the southern end of the congregation hall, an ornate choir loft sits twenty feet above the ground, joined to the narrow balcony encircling the nave and dome. The richly decorated wall panels depict scenes of strangely dressed men, while the low marble balustrade shows human figures celebrating. Many of these scenes have suffered recent damage, with stone shards and a broken bannister littering the floor. Several smashed glass
cases line the room, numerous swords of widely varying styles and construction poking out of them.
Along the Cathedral’s south wall, a ten-foot-wide rose window glitters with the sun, bathing the loft in light. A number of red figures surround a strange white shape against the window’s blue background.
A spiral staircase leads down and a pair of doors lead east and west.

DC 15 Knowledge (religion or history) checks:

You suspect that the scene should depict the raising of the Starstone, but the figures’ hands are positioned in such a way that they appear to be lowering the artifact instead of raising it

DC 25 Perception check:
You note that the window and its
stone frame are riddled with cracks.

As far as options for us, there are two doors leading off area #5 and there's a door on the east side of the circular part of the main room, near where we fought the elemental. Anything else? I assume we won't spend an hour clearing the barricades.

Scarab Sages

Options (as far as I can tell):
-Go back down and explore the library
(the 1 hour to clear the barricades will only get you outside)
-Stay here and look around this area
-Enter either the west or east door here (which logic and floor plan lay-out dictate will lead into either one the towers you've seen from the outside
-Follow the balcony until you reach the door halfway on the east side
-Go back to the bellfry and climb out (which won't do you much good unless you plan to enter either of the towers from above instead of from below)

So other then going down to the library you pretty much had all of them figured out

I am assuming the one hour duration mage armor I casted before we climb up the belfry is still active. If not, I enter total defense and move two square east instead

Belka positions herself to flank the glass construct and swings her axe at the stained-glass creature.

Att. mwk greataxe: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Scarab Sages

@Mohok, yes, sorry..I was rolling random targets until I noticed it's tactics mention to concentrate on 1 target..and it seems I forgot to change the damage roll when I was editing the rest

So Ragnar took 16 damage from the attacks last round

Mohok takes a powerfull swing but in doing so over extends himself causing him to miss his intended target (For reference, you are roughly in a square with you being NW, Rangar at SE, Belka at NE and the window at SE - Edit, until Belka moved..now you are flanking with Belka)

Zarunkumar starts a summon

While Birgit tries to make the window feel bad about itself
Will save: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1 ..which she is very good at...or the window had low self esteem to start with..

@Belka, yeah your mage armor is still up
Belka swings her greataxe and shards of glass splinter and crack.

init
Ragnar (He said he had limited posting posting, but going to give him at least the chance to post himself before I NPC him again since it hasn't been a day yet)
Window

Damage window: 9 - misfortuned

M Half-Orc Ranger 9 | HP 85 | AC 28 | T 16 | FF 25 | CMD 31 | Fort +12 | Ref +12 | Will +11 | Init +2 | Perc +14 (Favored Terrain: +4 Urban, +2 Underground)

Rev - no need to be sorry on the question of who took damage, just seeking clarification. And thanks very much for the description of our locations, helps a lot.

Scarab Sages

Ragnar swings his axe around and tries to hit the animated window

"Ärgghhh it's stings!" Seems like something Ragnar would say after being hit

to hit AC window: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

All though he hits..his axe doesn't seem to do a whole lot damage against glass...just a tiny chip falls off.

The window goes into a flurry of attacks vs Ragnar again
pick worst: 2d20 ⇒ (6, 6) = 1213 - miss
pick worst: 2d20 ⇒ (16, 19) = 35 23 - hits
pick worst: 2d20 ⇒ (16, 20) = 36 23 - hits

Even with the window having self esteem issues and second guessing itself the entire time it still manages to slam into Ragnar twice
Damage Ragnar: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage Ragnar: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Ragnar growls in pain.

And a celestial dog appears next to the Window as well

init
