Kajar roars and swings his axe again, taking down the creature as Buri hits is at the same time, making sure the creature stays down.

After you examine the body a bit more in detail;
Aram Zey’s body still has a lingering aura of necromancy magic, which is a residual sign an Aspis agent having trapped his soul. This act also makes it impossible to use magic to revive the Master of Spells or communicate with him through spells such as speak with dead.

You still don't know how to close the portal, but you've heard that there should be notes in the librairy that detail how to do just that. Also the most prescious artifact of the last year - the Skykey is still somewhere unprotected....you might want to secure it.

You have to choice on going to find the notes or secure the skykey, I'll update once I get home so you can choose where to go before then. If you haven't picked one before then I'll just pick one for you

"Velinov, do you think you'll need lots of time figuring out how to close the portal with the information of the library at hand? Wizardry is like magic to me, you'll find no help from me there."

"If Velinov is the only one who would be capable of figuring it out, we might better go for protecting the Skykey. I've heard there was another group battling, if they are more the studying type, they might do better in the library."

I think our character combinations (only 1 character with knowledge arcana) are better suited on the protection mission.

Finally!

Myrayah peers though the tear in reality and takes a look at the landscape behind. If no more enemies seem to be coming, she sheathes her scimitar and joins the others.

Does that look safe? Let's hope there aren't any more coming. Let's at least bar the door to this room from the outside so more can't come through. And we should take Master Zey's body out of here.

Once it has been explained what has been done to his soul:

Should we look for anything? What does a soul trap thingy look like?

Then, reflecting on our choices ahead:

Well, if we are bright enough to get this here closed, we should try that. On the other hand, we can bar the doors here, and leave the dimension thingy there open for a bit. We can always close it later. If they nick the the sky key while we are in the library, it'll be gone.

I'm fine with either, but agree with Myrayah that it might be a bit more urgent to secure the sky key.

Scarab Sages

Myrayah sees a staging area for an army on the other side of the portal..but it seems that the entire army has made it's way to this side already.

Deciding that securing the Skykey has priority you make your way over towards the chamber where it's supposed to be kept.

You've had enough time to heal before arriving here, it takes about 10 minutes to get to this room from the room you've just left

This tall library is ringed by a walkway around its perimeter, which provides access to a second level of towering bookshelves. A broad Qadiran rug leads to a short pedestal within a tall glass case that itself sits within an inscribed circle—all cordoned off by a velvet rope suspended by brass poles. Several plush chairs and a few low tables bearing curios line the lower floor, and two decorative suits of armor stand at attention, each with a crossbow resting against its shoulder. Heatless torches blaze with remarkably even light in sconces throughout the room, and a tall pendulum clock against the eastern wall ticks each passing second as its hands move erratically.

As you move into the room to take a look at the glass case to check if the Skykey is still inside it a ghostly image of a Pathfinder appears in the center of the room, where his likeness eerily begins to slide through the display case. His voice echoes as he speaks to an unseen party. “Oh no, they’ve stolen the Sky Key. It also appears they disrupted the auxiliary stabilizer, too.” He pauses before continuing. “Do you feel that? I feel kind of sick all of a sudden. I hope they didn’t try to disassemble it—or worse, bring it too close to the tapestry. Wasn’t that why Zey kept them so far—”
The figure’s words go unfinished as he begins to scream and dissolve, fading from view in a matter of seconds

You suddenly start to feel sick yourselves as well, as if the dimensional forces surrounding the artifact caused space in this room to bend in an uncomfortable way.

You must succeed at a DC 16 Fortitude save or be sickened for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds, the effect seems to be worse near the pillar (as in if you haven't successfully saves you need to make a new save each round for as long as you are within 30ft of the pillar)

Sickened: a -2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks

Then as you all start to almost throw up out of 4 spatial anomalies creatures which look like slimy, shifting mass which has the shape of a humanoid, but is made out of what appears to be some form of sticky rope or cloth appear.

I had to reread myself earlier. I mixed ranged cover rules with flanking rules. But basically: You have to draw a line from the center of your square to the center of my square (same as with normal flanking). If it crosses borders on opposite sides of an enemy we both treather, we flank it. So right now, the only position to flank with me is South. When positioned like you, the spaces I can use to flank are 3 spaces to your East, North of it and South of it.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
it hits the floor, splashing both of them with burning liquid 1 fire damage for Buri and Myrayah and setting fire to the rug it landed on, the fire roars and seems to be spreading through the room filled with not only very burnable books and papers but also ancient and very dry chairs, tables and rugs.

The last Aspis goes directly south from his current location and then moves around the wall of insects, past his companions and through the open door
Withdraw action, which doesn't provoke attacks on his chosen flight path

Crap. And to think I avoided using my greek fire for the same reason. Are there other pots with water in them? If not, Velinov will move to smother the fire with one of the other rugs.

Myrayah smiles a wicked smile as the flaming chemicals hit her. Fools.
As An Ifrit Myrayah has 5 resist fire, and she also has the "Fire in the Blood" alternative racial trait: When hit by fire - even if it doesn't penetrate the fire resistance - an Ifrit gets fast healing 2 for a round (up to 3 times a day at this level)

I am the fire! she exclaims with scorn.

Then the realization creeps in that Aram Zey's notes are quite flammable too, and she suppresses the urge to retaliate with her burning hands racial ability.

None of you has Create Water prepared, right?

Catch them, the fire can't hurt me, I will try to put it out before it spreads to the library.

Myrayah will spend, if need be, a full round action to smother the fire with a nearby rug or her own coat if no other options present themselves.

If I need to make any skill- or other checks, inform me.

Myrayah tries to put out the fire before it can spread, un afraid to get close to the fire as it seems to fuel her.

Kajar shoots his crossbow, hitting one of the Aspis in the shoulder..almost piercing a vein in his neck but the arrow stops in the meaty part of it's shoulder before the tip can get far aenough to pierce that far.

Velinov tries to put out some fire as well
1d20 ⇒ 12 and manages to use a nearby rug to smother the flames

Buri goes fully on the defensive.

All the Aspis make a run for it
(green and red withdraw, blue is gone as well..so no provoking for those. Yellow does a double move, avoiding Kajar, but provoking from Ulfgar as he jumps through the cloud of insects and ends his movement at the doors.

The fire is out, and no longer a threat?

Myrayah joins the pursuit, as she kinda sucks at searching.

I love the dice. With this result Myrayah can probably jump-flip over the agents' head and end up in a square behind him, so even a full retreat won't save him.

As the Aspis agent passes him by, Ulfgar tries to swing his axe, but gets confused when the Aspis agent simply runs through the insects as if they were not there.

Velinov searches around in the library for the notes you came to retrieve and in hollowed out book set high in one of the southern bookshelves he finds notes that provide details on how to shut down the tapestry.

Relieved that the fleeing Aspis didn't have the notes you decide to let them flee after you make quick work of the prone one you managed to stop and return to the room with the Tapestry and spend a few minutes to follow the ritual that's written down on the notes and you manage to shut down the portal which Velinov is easily able to follow with his knowledge of how things like these are supposed to be handled.

Which counts a success btw, your goal here was to retrieve the notes (and not having them get burned or not finding them), letting the Aspis escape doesn't matter in this particular case. So you just finished in the nick of time

I had to try it several (3) times as well. First thinking I did something wrong, but if you had the same than something might be bugging the website? Just re-paste/type.
