"It's a shame there aren't any weapons my size," he says with a shake of his head and a crack of his knuckles, he then moves back to lead the group through the room easily, his fiendish eyes keeping him just fine in this light-forsaken tower.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Ss'alat searches the room but doesn't come up with anything of interest.
Alexandria hears some movement on the other side of the door, it sounds like something wearing a metal full plate..or at least metal scrapping against metal and metal hitting the stone floor in footsteps..and something with softer footsteps.
Alexandria-Shardonz |
Alexandria tries to calm herself and waves at the rest of the group. Speaking softly she relays what she hears on the other side of the door,
Seems to be several individuals on the other side of this door and some seem to be well armored or a lot of metal scraping on metal. What do you all think we should do?
Xien |
Xien renews the bless and protection versus evil spells and then sheaths his wands to draw his trident.
"Let's go in and check."
The Navajo opens the door and goes in.
Ss'alat |
"Well, I guess we might as well see what's next!" says Ss'alat with a sigh.
He will try to cast Unprepared Combatant (DC 16) on anyone in big heavy armour in the next room, which seems likely. If all the actual opposition are just Goblins, he'll hold off on that, and use Daze on the second closest Goblin, since the closest probably won't last long enough to make it worthwhile.
Elvis Littlegoat |
I have WIFI now. No access to the map until I return to the country this weekend, so someone will have to move me around on the map. But I can post at least!
Straining to hear the armor, Elvis doesn't hear a thing.
"Let's hit'em hard and fast!"
Revvy Bitterleaf |
After checking the door for traps and finding it both untrapped and unlocked Xien renews the bless and protection versus evil spells and then sheaths his wands to draw his trident. He then opens the door to reveal:
This curving room is a good-sized kitchen, complete with decaying tables, cupboards, and bins. One newer table has what seems like a child’s laboratory set up, with broken cups standing in for beakers.
In the middle of the room are a goblin wearing leather armor with a rather well made looking falchion at his hip and what looks like a wand who seems to be working on a sort of golem... It's pieced together from mostly green metal parts and has what looks like a dead human left arm.

But this might be no real construct, who knows :?

@Xien: normally, yes. But the Serpentine Bloodline should allow it, if it's not completely immune to mind-affecting spells. The arcana for that bloodline is what allowed me to daze the Goblin dogs earlier. We'll find out soon enough if that thing is completely immune to mind-affecting spells or not. If it isn't, it'll be cool for us!

You would need Impossible Bloodline to hit a construct. That being said, without a knowledge roll, we don't know that it is a construct, so that is the right call

@Altus, it's a bit unclear from the map, so going to keep things simple and rule in your favor..you can step there
After a harsh punch which almost breaks his knuckles Altus slams his fist into the metal creature denting it a bit and leaving an impression of his fist and then grits his teeth and does something he has yet to do in front of his current companions...he takes a bite at the creature....which almost chips his right molar...but his teeth slam together after scraping a bit over the creatures metal covering without biting down (doesn't hit AC).
Sparks leap across the entire creature now..and a bit of smoke can be seen rising from some of it's openings. The air around the creature seems to be charged with electricity and you can feel the hairs on your body start to stand up.

Do me a favor and BOT me until Saturday please. I will be leaving Guatemala and returning Saturday. Until i get home posting will be difficult.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Just noticed I posted the room description in the discussion tab and not here, so to repeat:
Xien leads the way through the next door to reveal:
This curving hall has been badly damaged, but there are intact doors to the north (you just came through that one), east, and south, as well as a large double door leading to the core of the tower. One corner of the room has collapsed in a mound of green glass rubble, but a tunnel runs through the debris, shored up with rough timbers.
Having decided that the room is clear you move to the next door:
Stairs wind upward to the right, circling around a glowing wall of semi-translucent green stone. It seems the Azlanti tower was built around a core of some other material—a spire within a spire.
Xien |
"Stairs" the nagaji looks up at the stairs "Xien doens't like stairs. We might better explore other areas of this floor first." the paladin looks at his party for them to take the decision, follow the stairs or explore other rooms next to this one.
Xien |
Finding agreement within the party, Xien turns on place and heads towards the southern door "Let's check what is behind this one." he listen to the door first of all.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
"What do you think the goblins are doing in here? Why should the make a lair of such a mythic place?" and looking at the remains of the construct "Do you think they are experimenting with artificial life?"
That said, the nagaji places his hand on the door and opens it.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Deciding to leave the stairs for later the party moves to the next door.
As Xien listens to the door he can hear movement on the other side. Movement of what..he isn't able to tell through the thick wood of the door.
After Xien opens the door it reveals:
This room is full to bursting with a motley collection of cots and other furniture cobbled from scraps of wood and cloth. The stench of rotting food is overpowering. Doors lead to the west and the north.
This room serves as the main barracks for the goblin tribe. A riot of broken bits of metal, glass, stone, and other things scavenged by the goblins from the ruins of the keep and the surrounding woods clutter the room. Goblins find value in practically everything, so this chamber looks as much like a trash heap as it does a living area.
There are 3 goblins here, prepared for a fight. Wearing leather armor, shield and short sword with short bows on their back..one of them - wearing what once used to be a green shirt -instead has his short bow wielding and has his shield on his back.
