Scarab Sages

Assuming you will enter the cabin to take a look at some point, so just posting it now;

This room is a blood-splattered chamber of horror. Dead rodents, snakes, and birds have been variously nailed, tied, and hung around the walls. At the far end of the room, a large cauldron bubbles over an iron stove set against the aft wall, its stovepipe chimney extending up through the ceiling. A bloody burlap sack sits on the floor next to the stove. The center of the room contains a long, rickety table surrounded by chairs that contain several grisly decorations—a whole family of skeletal goblins, their bones bleached white and bound together by reeds and twine.

As you search around in this room you see that in the large bubbling cauldron there is an left arm and heart of a goblin which are currently stewing in the cauldron, while the bloody burlap sack contains the rest of his body, including his uniquely branded face. It's Scribbleface's In case anyone forgot...that's the goblin that found the fireworks and was kicked out of your tribe which started this whole crazy adventure.

What do you want to do now?

As Mogmurch opens the bag to find Scribbleface, he turns and shows the other goblins as he says "Sees, writing brings bad joojoo. Old Scribbleface was writings and nowz he be Vorka's lunch. Bad joojoos..."

Male Goblin Rogue 1

Chuffy would huff and puff and stab the dog again for being a pain in rear before finally he'd turn and follow the others into the cabin. His brow would furrow as he'd look around, seeing the corpses and the cauldron. He'd look for anything suspicious like a trap while at the same time stepping to the side of the door.

Female Goblin Fighter 1

Reta pauses to admire the grim scene in wonder, being sure to take mental notes to mimic this interior design. The critters nailed around the walls were exquisite, and she hoped that they were still alive during the decorating process. She could have done without the skeletons in the way, though.

"Cannibal should best other gobs, not eats them." She reaches into her worn leather satchel and drinks her healing potion, feeling the stings of the angry dog melt away.

Potion, Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

She seems to catch her second wind, seeming no worse for wear. Whether due to the magic potion or the strange decor you'd rather not dwell on.

"Scribbleface mess with dark powers. No big loss. But Vorka not leave Reta critters to splitters into splinters." She waves the Chief's dogslicer around, knocking over several knick-knacks. "Will not do. Reta must play with Vorka instead."

Female Goblin Fighter 1

Reta big bobble head admire decor, though think Vorka undeserving.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Scarab Sages

Both Chuffy and Reta don't find anything (other then random rubble/trinkets everywhere).

Where do you want to go? What do you want to do?

Female Goblin Fighter 1

She rips a stray snake nonchalantly off the wall, idly smacking it around. They were so hard to catch that Reta has spent one summer devoted to trying. When she finally was able to, though, she found out that snakes don't make much in the way of noise. Torture without noise doesn't make much in the way of fun. Reta didn't like snakes anymore.

"Where is he? He is where? Gruesome gruel is hot in pot. Mutts not as quiet as snakes. Vorka hide or Vorka gone. Or Vorka deaf."

She steps on the serpent's head, seeing how much stress it takes when stretched. Dead specimens like this never gave quite the same results though. "Could crash his fancy dinner party. Surprise if he returns. Or go back down to ship basement? Basements always good for storage, Reta know. Also: good for squealy echo. Good indeed. Where go?"

Scarab Sages

Since the lower deck cabin is pretty much the only place on the ship you haven't explored yet..Is it safe to assume you'll go there? Or do you want to make a lot of noise and draw Vorka out? So far the noise of combat hasn't drawn her out...yet

Male Goblin Rogue 1

Chuffy would watch the going ons with a certain amount of boredom, a frown forming on his lips as pus and ooze would run down his cheeks from the recent exertion. Many of his pustules had burst. Raising a hand, he'd absently scratch at them before deciding that he knew what the problem was. Making his way over to the cauldon he'd look in and grin before finally raising a foot and kicking it hard, attempting to spill it. "CHUFFY BORED! WHERE FIREWORKS! ME WANT FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!!!!!"

He'd begin dancing around the room screaming FIRE FIRE FIRE CHUFFY WANT FIRE FIRE FIRE

Female Goblin Fighter 1

"One vote no for surprise party," Reta realizes. She tosses the snake to him with a shrug and heads back out of the cabin. Her spider climb potion was still working, though she hadn't seen any sneaky entrances down there to really take any advantage of it. She muses about kicking Cuddles down the flights of stairs for effect, but he was a particularly large and heavy mutt. "Reta go down and take care of Vorka. I bring her back here for you to play with, if want." (Moving on map, lower deck cabin it is!)

Scarab Sages

As Reta opens the door of the lower cabin she sees:

The air in this cabin is thick and close, stinking of swamp and sweat, with a thick, glistening layer of mud on the floor and swaths of oily fungus clinging to the walls. Even more dangling decorations of goblin bone and animal-part fetishes hang from the ceiling on lengths of sinew here, and what appears to be a nest made of rags, sticks, mud, and castoff bits of clothing lies against the westernmost wall. But scattered amid the filth and clutter are several exotic-looking man-made objects—including a tantalizing red chest.

In the room are also a GIANT frog and a female goblin. Her mouth is her most fearsome feature—it's a bit too wide, even by goblin standards, and ger habit of filing her already sharp teeth has resulted in a snaggletooth grin of mismatched teeth that leaves little doubt as to her preference for tough, stringy meat. Like goblin meat. She wears rags and bits of stained cloth—trophies harvested almost at random from her hapless victims, over her equally patchwork leather armor.
She also wears a floppy, pointy leather hat with crude alterations to in order to make it fit her large, mishapen head.

She wasn't about to let Mogmurch have all the fun. Such a large critter might well be Reta Destiny. Walking into the room sideways along the wall - she was really getting too used to that potion - she skitters up to carve up some of that barbeque.

Melee, Gorge of Gluttons: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Her climbing and clattering approach does nothing to help her aim, and what she expects to be a graceful gutting is really just her flopping haphazardly to the floor beside the alchemist. She scowls at the sword: it hadn't been as nearly as good as she'd assumed. Or possibly, as she'd left her luck toad inside of a horse, her luck had simply run out. She realizes that she also left her bow on this floor, crafted by her own horrid hand and the help of many dogs earses...es.

"Reta got recipe for Vorka. Time to stop Hop Hop. Bop the top, then wallop till flop, till need a mop. Big mop. Reta not afraid to get her hands dirty. Her pretty dainty hands. Much prettier daintyer than yours."

Male Goblin Rogue 1

Chuffy would still be capering about until he saw the others dashing into combat. This would cause Chuffy to stop and ponder before grinning and looking at the fire that had been keeping the cauldron going (assuming there is one). With the fire there, he'd pick up a tinder of it and make his way towards the battle, drawing out the skyrocket and lighting it.

skyrocket discharge: 1d6 ⇒ 1

FIRE IN THE HOLE! . That was the warning he'd give his comrades as the foot-long wooden tube begins to shake and emit a handful of white sparks.

Melee, Gorge of Gluttons: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

An angry Reta then...runs away. Wait, what? There she goes! Once a goblin always a goblin.

If Players Sense Motive 10:
You're well aware that her battle rage and hubris make her think she's too good to be hurt by things like fire, just like she was acting above deck. You realize she's merely running to grab the bow she left behind.

I was assuming the toad couldn't OOP if he's clamping down, but let me know if he can, I'd risk it regardless. By the way, where is the firework? Didn't Chuffy have to move into the room to reach the cauldron?

Scarab Sages

He can't actually make a grab attempt with his bite (just with his tongue)..so the clamp down was just a description of his bite, sorry if this was misleading.

Reta's attack misses the frog's head ...by a fraction of on inch before she runs past the frog on her way out

Ah gotcha, heh. I'm learning that play-by-post can make it tricky to see where everything is on a map. Yup I meant the one Chuffy lighted!

Reta squeals in pain as the frog bites her hard. If she had the capacity to believe in karma, she might have thought this was retribution for all the torture she'd inflicted on animals. The gobliness didn't have that capacity, however. Just simpler notions, like fear, rage and vengeance.

Scarab Sages

It also doesn't help that this map has layers on top of each other..in a "normal" dungeon where everything is side by side, it's easier

That evil glint in Chuffies eye grows even more demented, watching as Vorta moves. He doesn't care about frog, he wants cannibal lady. So he'd take aim not at the frog but at Vorta herself. Feeling the rocket sputter and shake, the sparks growing more intense before finally a rocket would shoot out of the wooden tube, travelling at 90ft per round right towards Vorta, though he does hope the frog doesn't get in the way.

Do I need to roll a percentile dice to see if it hits the frog instead? If so above 50 and it doesn't. Not sure what the rules are regarding this rocket, so heres a ranged attack roll as well

percentage: 1d100 ⇒ 92

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

If it hits: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12

If it missed and explodes somewhere else, anything within 10 feet will be blinded and dazzled.

Scarab Sages

Skyrocket (50 gp): When lit, this foot-long wooden tube begins to shake and emit a handful of white sparks, shedding light as a torch. One round later it takes flight, moving in a straight line with a fly speed of 90 for 1d6 rounds before loudly exploding in an burst of light and sound, dealing 2d6 points of fire damage in a 10-foot burst (DC 15 Reflex save for half ). If a skyrocket impacts a solid surface or a creature before reaching its maximum range, it detonates prematurely at the point of impact. Anyone who takes damage from the explosion is either blinded or deafened (a 50% chance of either) for 1 round.

Scarab Sages

It doesn't mention anything about being able to aim. So at the moment that would mean you'd hit Mogmurch and it will explode..let's assume Mogmurch will take his turn before Chuffy ..and that he will step out of the way first ;)

Male Goblin Rogue 1

haha alright. I figured since it was a tube it might be able to be aimed. GOOD LUCK MOG!. Also I might be late posting tomorrow as I'm going to that convention in Amersfoort.

@Mogmurch; Pretty sure both of those are standard actions to take, so one or the other..which one do you want to use? And are you sure you don't want to do move out of the cabin instead? The frog already used an AOO against Reta..so you might be safe with moving away...and Chuffy is standing behind you with a HUGE piece of fireworks..aiming it into the area you're standing in. I'm fine with you staying in there, it could be a goblin thing to do..just wanting to make sure it is what you want to do.

Mogmurch seeing the sparking rocket behind him decides it's time for a ...tactical retreat and moves out of the cabin where he drinks a potion I think that technically you would have had to have a potion in your hand to be able to drink it now, but if you have an extract of cure light left that should work already

Going to assume that Chuffy will also take a step back since he knows how big the explosion will be,...and I guess he doesn't want to get caught in it either

The sounds of fun were ringing in her ears, and she was nowhere near it. This would not do. Reta was battered up and didn't have any healing left, but the sooner she could retrieve her bow and get back to the thick of it the better.

1 move action takes me to this current square. The bow is on the floor in the square to my left. I can't pick it up from here, can I? I think I've been playing too many board games lately. Is so I'd grab it here. If not, I'd use a second move action to go one further square to the west. Is picking up something off the ground a free, a move or a standard? (By the same token, that's why I dropped it in the first place; we had dogs at the time and I didn't want to waste any partial round by sticking it back on my back.

Then to compound matters he'd get hit in the face by a blast of negative energy, this only seeking to infuriate him. AHHHHHHH! CHUFFY MAD NOW!

Seeing the frog drop, he'd not waste anytime in attempting to coup de grace the frog with his dog slicer, fully intending on pinning it's head to the floor with a very satisfying THUNK.

She snickers as she grabs her bow (with the standard), getting comfort from petting her dog earred quiver with a stray hand. Reta was going to kill it all just right. She wasn't about to let the area's only real challenge to her feminine brutality continue breathing. She was sure that the Bigbad was going up against the Bignotquiteasbadbutsoontobedead. She might need a better name. Except that she wouldn't. On account of all the being dead.
