...However, I think I'd better pass since I'll hopefully be running one of these long campaign games at the time....
Actually, here's an idea. You could register one of our games during Gameday, and close registration immediately. That way you get a race boon, and scenario support if you want to try a scenario you don't own.

![]() |

Recruitment threads for them are below:
Will be working on the other tabs soon but recruitment is up so feel free to post in there before I put it on the spreadsheet tomorrow.
---
It was a pleasure to have you in my Mists of Mwangi ShieldBug so I will miss ya on this table but there will be other opportunities in the future, for sure!
And Forrest's idea is pretty great because if we need to slow down for your bandwidth there won't be any issue. We are all on the same page already and I know I am not alone in missing our games.

![]() |

Agreed. I think it is a good idea Forrest has and also agree that wee miss your game.

![]() |

Man, as much as I want to run both I think I'm going to need to limit new games, what with 3 or 4 SFS and in August I'll have a 1 month old in addition to my insane energy 2 year old.
Maybe next game day.

GM ShieldBug |

Haha, that'll certainly keep you busy for a while, Brock!
That sounds like a plan, Forrest! I can't set it up until next week when I'll have access to a computer again, but I'll definitely give it a go. Hopefully y'all can win some special gameday boons too. :)

![]() |

Last Gameday, two of my characters won a boon. But only one of them could use it because they were faction based.

![]() |

Aside from the GM Boon I won a starship weapon but I hate PbP starship battles but a boon is a boon! I wanted that pirate faction.

![]() |

Yaiho, those can be applied to any character! Not just the one who won them. (I've built characters for a different faction just to use a boon before. Lol.)

![]() |

Are the boons good? I've never seen a convention boon before. Or the GM boons for that matter.

![]() |

GM Boons are race boons from what I have received. I got a Vine Leshy for the last one. The boons for Pathfinder players weren't that fantastic from what I remember and Starfinder was the starship weapon and the Free Pirates(?) faction boon that helps your interactions in a scenario with them.
I am pretty sure they will rotate in July though but Vine Leshy may still be around as it was a new introduction for that convention.

GM ShieldBug |

The two player boons I have won (both from last year's gameday) were actually quite neat, at least for my PCs. One inducted my knight wannabe in an actual order that he helped setup, and the other gave significant discounts for augmentations to my starfinder PC. I was very pleased. :)
Although, as a GM for Outpost, I was able to read the player boons available then, and I don't think I missed out when I didn't win any.

![]() |

GM's get whatever Race boon is in stock that quarter. (So it won't be another Leshy.) Players are a neat, fun boon. They usually add fun player fluff, like being a legit Knight of an order, or a little crunch boon like on a Chronicle sheet.

![]() |

That's good to now (although Leshies are adorable) but I wasn't sure because we originally were getting a boon that gave aquatic elf/merfolk/and one other but a choice was given between that boon and leshy.

![]() |

Ya, that was because it started in one quarter and ended in another. This one starts in 3rd and ends in 4th, so it should be something different. (Unless PFS uses different quarters, then who knows!!)

![]() |

I got this Boon twice for last Gameday.
{}{}{}{}{}{} Seasoned Archivist (Dark Archive Faction): Your experience in the Grand's Lodge's Vault makes you a skilled researcher of magic or other esoterica. You gain a +2 bonus on Research checks as well as skill checks made to gain access to libraries and research facilities. If you have at least 20 Fame, you may spend 1 Prestige Point to become a Senior Archivist, gaining research assistants to help in your personal experiments. You may work with your assistance and forgo your Downtime between adventures to check a box that precedes this boon. Once you have checked all 6 boxes, select one of the benefits below, crossing off the other one.
--{}{} Alchemical Breakthrough: Your body has become resistant to alchemical substances. When you take damage from a splash weapon, reduce the damage you take by 3 (minimum 0). Also, you have produced two doses of an alchemical catalyst that can enhance a potion you drink. Check one of the boxes that precedes this boon when you drink a potion to use your character level in place of the potion's caster level for determining its effects.
--{}{} Magical Marvel: You gain a +2 bonus on Spellcraft and Knowledge (arcana) checks to identify ongoing magical effects, such as rituals and lingering magical auras (but not magical items). Additionally, you have produced two vials of magical ink that can enhance a scroll that you activate. Check a box that precedes this boon to use your character level in place of the scroll's caster level for determining the spell's effects.

I'm already at the limit for pre-July 1 (actually, for one I'm locked in a lottery, so unsure :/). After that date I'll see about jumping into some of your games if they still need filling.

Just thought y'all might like to know, I've just officially submitted our next scenario as being part of PbP Gameday VII. I set it to start at the start of the second session, but depending on how things go, I can always start before that. ;)
Have fun with your session #1 games, y'all! :)

Awesome!

Yay! Sounds like fun! I'm excited for October!

Awesome! I'll really be jonesing for Brock to roll Nat 1 on his first musket shot again!

Nice!

![]() |

This doesn't really affect this game, but in case discussion occurs here soon, a reminder that I'm away without internet from July 14-22 (that starts this next Saturday).

![]() |

A nice. Just got informed by email that the Pathfinder: Kingmaker CRPG will be released Sept. 25.
Here is a teaser trailer for those that might be interested if you haven't heard about it already.

![]() |

Looks neat. Might have to look into it. Not that I get really, any, time to play computer games these days.
Is it turn based?

How dare you put POE in the same sentence as Baldurs Gate!
I kid, Pillars was pretty OK. I really liked the Cypher before they nerfed it.
Maybe I should play it again...
I'll have to check it out, with the two kiddos (mostly my 2 year old) i absolutely , positively, need a game that can be paused and played mostly with 1 hand to have a chance at being able to play these days.

I nearly swore off Kickstarter for good after the Unsung Story debacle but this one convinced me enough to give it a chance. Hoping it conjures fun similar to NWN.

![]() |

I've only done two Kickstarters. The Kingmaker one, which looks like they are coming through. And Pathfinder Online. I regret that one.

![]() |

I did a couple. Battletech and Shadowrun were great
Mechwarrior online, not so much, though I certainly got my money worth.
Star Citizen certainly looks like it's going well but it quickly outpscced my internet and computer capabilities.
Also as I said I am pretty much limited to turn based these days due to children.

![]() |

I have done it for projects I already knew a lot about. Munchkin Stafinder as that company was already established, Peter Mohrbacher's books of art for Angelarium as I was already on his Patreon, and Kingmaker.

![]() |

I would've done the Shadowrun Kickstarter, but didn't find out about it until after the Kickstarter was over.
I played a lot of Shadowrun 3rd Edition in high school. Actually recently, the GM I had in high school contacted me and we started up a Saturday group through roll20/Discord playing Shadowrun 3E.

![]() |

3E was my favorite. Never played very much once 4th dropped.
We started sometime at the end of 2nd edition.
Man, I used to love playing Shadowrun. I'm an 80s cyberpunk junkie at heart.

GM ShieldBug |

Hi guys. It is with a heavy heart that I must say that I will be unable to run this game after all. Graduate school is taking up way more time than I thought it would, and even though I thought things would settle down after being here for a while, there are still no signs of that happening yet. I'm so sorry for abandoning you like this, y'all have been such fun to play with! However, I must do what is best for everyone and step down before things get too much. :(

![]() |

That is very sad, I certainly will miss these games.
I hope your schooling goes well Shieldbug!

![]() |

Completely understandable and I wish you the best in tackling grad school. Will look forward to your possible return in the future as these games have been some of my favorite.
Always a message away for a game or anything else!

![]() |

Good luck in grad school! Thanks for having me along after the group started, while it lasted. I always looked forward to this game most of all :) Arin is now terrorizing new unsuspecting party members with his odd interjections of abyssal and slime in battle :D

![]() |

It is sad to see this group ending but I understand that your grad school comes first. I really enjoyed you as the GM and the chemistry of this group. I'm sure Yaiho will team up with more of you in the future though.

![]() |

That is definitely sad news, but real life always comes first! Know that we will miss you and your incredible, top-notch GMing. Good luck in grad school. Thank you for running such great games, for facilitating a crazy group, and for cultivating great relationships.
If your time ever frees up, even just enough to play, please send a message. You'll always have a place in my games, and I'll always have a character for one of yours!

GM ShieldBug |

Thanks for understanding and the kind words y'all! I will definitely get in touch as soon as I am able to play/run any new games.

![]() |

Oh, no! I can honestly say you've been awesome to play under. If you ever want to run a game, let me know! I'm there! All the best in school and beyond. It's definitely more important than a game.
See you around the boards, everyone. I'll keep an eye out for your characters so we can play again together.
@ Yaiho: I guess Yaiho and Kenza will get to play together one day after all! Haha.

![]() |

lol...
