AGREED!
| GM ShieldBug |
Wow! Thanks guys! I'm so glad y'all are enjoying these games, and hearing things like that, Forrest, really inspires me to keep pushing my characterisations and the stories as much as I can. :)
I really had a ton of fun on this one since, as I may have mentioned before, fey are my absolute favourites. Thanks everyone for another awesome game!
I'll have the sheets ready by late tomorrow, and we'll get started on the next scenario early next week. :)

As much as I like Brock's aholishness, I like a more fiddly class. I am considering bringing my fallen Paladin turned Occultist next game, if he finishes before the next one starts (which I kinda doubt)
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
I can see why you like Fey so much. You really do bring these fantastical creatures to life through the posts. Also these scenarios have been interesting as well with the mix of combat (those poor creatures) and the crazy RP potential/skill use.
Danicka Raburnus
|
Yeah, I've enjoyed this one so much I'm very tempted to run it for my kids. There's nothing they love more than some colourful characters to RP with.
Mhazruk Kruhl

So looking at my S8 faction cards would the encounter with Caught qualify for:
Resolve a combat encounter nonviolently through diplomacy, trickery, bribery, or a similar tactic.
| GM ShieldBug |
@Brock: Would that be the fellow that Sheila Heidmarch disappointed so much that he had to hang up his paladin boots?
@Danicka: It does seem like an excellent scenario to run for kids. BTW, on an unrelated note, I love how different Danicka is from Everbloom, their views on what constitutes decent dress being the least of their differences. :)
@Mhazruk: The only casualty was a summoned creature, and there is no mention of needing rolls, so I'd say go ahead and give that box a big ol' tick.
Danicka Raburnus
|
Why thank you! Most of my characters are pretty different personality-wise. And, although some of them have similarities and things in common, Danicka is certainly one of a kind. Haha.
Arin Qualnoh

Oh hey, I get to catch up to everyone’s level for one scenario :P
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
Speaking of your characters I feel so terrible for Vexin slowing down that scenario and what happened to Malora. Never letting him cook again.
And Arin we will be the same level for a bit longer! I'll have two more at two.
Yaiho Crasher
|
Ah.. right. Faction goals. I always forget to look those up.
Saving Virml I think would allow me to check off the 1 of 3 of these I need. Virml was definitely a captive.
{}{}{} Liberate one or more captives, hostages, or slaves during an adventure.
Also, I agree with the others. Shieldbug is a great GM and I'm really enjoying playing with him and everyone else.
Brock Swiftread

@GM, yep that'd be him. He was so ashamed and disheartened that his order would force him to work with such a disreputable person he lost his connection to Iomedae. Feeling something was missing he made the obvious choice of seeking forbidden knowledge and haunted objects to get the ... spark back. Because simply asking forgiveness or seeking atonement is lame. Hey, that kinda sounds like a super villain origin story.
Once he finishes assaulting an impossible kingdom he'll hit level 2, but I doubt he will finish by next week, however, since that game has slowed down a bunch recently.
In all reality it was just exhausting trying to waive away constantly being asked to do things no Paladin would actually do. Heck he probably would have tried to STOP our first task on the race on moral and legal grounds. Also, the dice have been far more kind since I switched to occultist, and swinging 3d6 + 6 damage with 22 AC at level 1 is fun
Forrest Glavo
|
Ya, that was a rough scenario for most paladins!! Lots of internal justification needed.
This is my first Level 2 scenario, but I think I'll GM a game before our next one ends. That way I hit 3 with the more advanced half of the group.
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
Let me know what you GM and I might join the table on a character. I will be finishing up GM'ing Mists of Mwangi in the next week or two but I was planning on applying it to my Dark Archive/Blakros Museum character.
I will be GMing more going forward though. I do enjoy it in this format. We can do trades!
Also just realized you are Piggy and Porker!
Danicka Raburnus

Speaking of your characters I feel so terrible for Vexin slowing down that scenario and what happened to Malora. Never letting him cook again.
Haha! No worries. I can take it. I just hope I get credit for then whole scenario, despite being unconscious from your horrible cooking half the adventure.
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
Looks like Malora is back in the game so she can scold Vexin!
Speaking of new games I got a Vine Leshy boon so I can't wait to get that into a game once I figure out a class and story for the little plant!
Forrest Glavo

Let me know what you GM and I might join the table on a character.
Alas, I will be doing that one in person. I tend to GM for our local group about once a month. (No way I could finish a PbP game in that time. Shieldbug's posting is extraordinarily fast!) BUT, I was planning on running a Commencement Starfinder game in a few weeks, towards the end of Outpost. When I get that going I'll be sure to post here first!!
Ah, the great Doctor! I love seeing people's different characters! It's always fun to see the differences.

Oracle 2
HP +7
BAB +1
Will +1
Concentration +1
Heal +1
Knowledge (planes) +1
Perception +1
Spellcraft +1
Energy Body (rounds) +1/day
Spells
- 0-level (orisons):
Learned Create Water
- 1st-level: (+1/day)
Learned Detect Undead (mystery spell)
Behold, the incremental usefulness.
Ah, GM credit. That is a good idea, perhaps I should try to catch Arin up too. Maybe I'll try a simple starter like Master of the Fallen Fortress.
Hmm, I didn't dramatically introduce his energy body ability this scenario. Perhaps with 2 rounds to work with it'll be all the more dramatic when it happens.
Hey, a Liberty's Edge faction goal!
| GM ShieldBug |
@Yaiho: Definitely a faction goal there. Tick away! :)
Normally I'd write an epilogue about now, but this scenario was so self contained, and you're already home in Absalom, that I have no idea what to write. :)
Anyhoo, the game has been reported, but I just noticed that there are no day job rolls from anyone. If you want to make your day job rolls and/or scribe some of those scrolls you found into spell/formula books, now's the time. :)
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
Getting some spare time in between bar games and drinking Rook sits back in a corner creating Alchemist's Kindness for the patrons but before doing so mixes up a Crafter's Fortune with a remaining extract.
Dayjob (Craft: Alchemy): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Also copied Bull's Strength from Scroll
Brock Swiftread

Naturally as soon as Brock can sneak away to a seedy gambling den, he will.
Gambling: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Buuuut was too drunk to concentrate properly.

What a fun game! That was a blast!
I'll just take a ten, for a 20 on Perform Dance. That should be 20 GP.
Danicka Raburnus
|
I actually don't know how to handle scribing spells into my spell book in PFS. I will, but I need to look up the rules first.
Danicka Raburnus
|
And it's no different than normal. Got it. Haha.
Danicka will take the time to copy the following spells into her spellbook:
- bull's strength (costs 40 gp)
- slow (costs 90 gp)
- dimension door (costs 160 gp)
She'll take ten on her spellcraft checks, which can't fail.

Forgo your Downtime to nonviolently fight for the cause of liberty by spending time organizing protests, freeing slaves,
or distributing revolutionary material. Doing so requires a successful Disable Device, Knowledge (local), or Stealth check
with a DC equal to 15 + your character level.
{Crosses-Fingers} Stealth DC17: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (14) - 3 = 11; Darn.
Arin Qualnoh
|
Arin joins Yaiho in his attempts for peaceful protest...
stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Juuuust barely.
Hey Yaiho, don’t we only get one faction check mark per session?
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
Yep, one per session unless it specifies you can get it alongside another. I remember Dark Archive having one like that.
Also I didn't see anywhere saying that they had to do it alone so could we help aid our companions checks for their faction? Poor Yaiho needs all the distractions in the world.
Brock Swiftread

I could start some slave traders on fire...
| GM ShieldBug |
Yep, just the one faction goal per scenario unless it specifies otherwise. :)
Also I didn't see anywhere saying that they had to do it alone so could we help aid our companions checks for their faction? Poor Yaiho needs all the distractions in the world.
I've seen it done for the recruitment options, but they were carried out in gameplay. Foregoing downtime kind of suggests to me that the same rules apply to those checks as an ordinary job roll (i.e. no aid another roles,) but I'm not 100% sold on that interpretation if a group of Liberty's Edge PCs want to mount a rescue mission or stage a protest and make a few fun gameplay posts between games. :)
Anywho... Your chronicles are available here. As usual just let me know if there are any mistakes and I'll fix them as soon as I can.
Yaiho Crasher

Ah... okay. Well, I failed that check anyway. At least I came away with one during quest.
One more quest, I think I will have enough to upgrade my MW Earthbreaker to a +1 Earthbreaker.
Arin Qualnoh

Question: 2pp gets you a 750gp item. Can it get you 750gp *towards* a more expensive item if you make up the diff?

Still a number of scenarios to get my mithral breastplate, I think I'll only miss one scenario without it after I get my extra AC at Cav 3.

I'm afraid not.

The Mithral shirt will wait another scenario then. Thanks!

@ Shieldbug: I just realized which one we're playing next. My kids are going to be so jealous! Haha.
| GM ShieldBug |
Haha, yeah that's why I picked Black Waters for Outpost... Because this scenario was coming up that is, not because it'll make your kids jealous. :)
Danicka Raburnus
|
Also, full disclosure, I mentioned you in a recent blog post, which might bug some people. It's only a few sentences, and I swear its all complimentary, haha. If it bugs you let me know and I won't mention you again. The link's to that specific post is here if you wanted to check it out.

7 doses black powder - 7g
20 cold iron bullets - 2g
Upgrade gunslingers musket to masterwork - 300 g I think this is still OK in PFS
Total cost - 309g
| GM ShieldBug |
As for the reporting, I was thinking about querying that myself later today or tomorrow. Outpost scenarios are reported slightly differently from the normal PbP games I've been doing. I report the game to the organisers via a handy dandy link they gave me, and they report it to the powers that be. I got confirmation of my part being successful but haven't heard anything since. The post you linked to mentions that you finished another Outpost game. Are the sessions for that one showing up? If so, I'll definitely send an email to the Online Venture Team later today to see what's going on.
Danicka Raburnus
|
And yes, the other OutPost scenario we completed did show up on our sessions. Thanks!
Forrest Glavo
|
I'll admit, I snooped. (I'm a dirty snooper!)
The Outpost games are taking longer than usual to report. Mine took a few days. If it's longer than a week, that's when you should contact Magabeus or one of the other Outpost organizers.
| GM ShieldBug |
And I just snooped on the snooper... what does that make me? A super-snooper?
Danicka Raburnus

I totally snoop, too. My kids scold me for it. Haha. It doesn't bug me at all. Snoop away.

By the way, it's mid April and I had to dig (well, snow blow) our way out of over a foot of snow today. And lost power, and probably another foot tonight/tomorrow. I moved away from Alaska because of April snowstorms! This is crap!
But Im glad I didn't miss anything important during my day without power.
Back to your regular schedules Pathfinder.

Yeah, for the cost it seems rather useless to ever buy standard arrows/bolts/bullets over cold iron.
2g vs 1g isn't much of a hardship, just go kill a goblin or something to pay the difference :)

Danick bought a courtier's outfit. And no, she's not wearing enough jewelry to make her look like she blends in.
