Monty takes a dive, while the hound archon attacks from behind. When the second archon appear, the duo quickly makes short work of the ghoul threatening Monty.

Loki squirms and wriggles against the strong hold of the statue, and sinks his teeth into the hard stone. Ceobryrn takes down the last Ghul with three well-aimed strikes, freeing the way to the statue.

Speaking another spell, Kyra manifests a glowing ball of energy, which quickly resolves into the shape of a scimitar. Pointing at the statue, she sends the spiritual weapon to strike at the creature.

Lokie crushes her teeth on the statue twice more, before trying to wiggle free of the firm grip of the statue, but the cause is hopeless.

Sorry, the last ghul is already dead, I forgot to update the tracker block. I've assumed Ceo and Eli move up to the statue and deliver a blow each.

Ceobryrn and Elindriel close in on the statue and start hacking at it, their adamantine weaponry causing great damage to the stonework. Kyra deals magical damage to the living statue, but only manages superficial scratches.

The hound archon slash away at the statue with great strength and fervor, the stones crumbling down to the ground. With their last blow, the statue topples over and shatters to pieces.

In the north side of the main hall, a door seems to have collapsed - from the traces in the dust clouds, this is where the ghuls emerged from.

The temples is still shaking and vibrating as if you are at the epicentre of an earthquake.

Monty drags himself to his feet...

"That was expected, but rougher than expected"

As Hagnar places the tablet on the appropriate altar, he sees the statue crumble to the ground and his colleagues enter. "So how do we overcome this last table - the one that seems to want to leech a life away?" He examines the group of tables closely, and thinks about what they have learned so far, trying to determine the best course of action...

"Maybe the answer lies from whence the ghuls came? We could go and have a quick look." suggests Ouroboreia, pointing at the now-crumbled wall.

"I wonder what would happen if we put one of the ghuls on the table?" Hagnar asks, eyeing up the fallen creatures.

There is another room there, which was previously hidden. In the shaking, a column collapsed, breaking down the secret door.

The secret room contains twelve stone coffins.

I didn't mean that, a 'not' went AWOL there. it will drain life, but not everything at once.

The coffins are all closed, though they look like they can be opened with relatively minor ease.

Kyra tries to recall any relevant information about ancient Osiriani burial rites.

Monty finds. Inside are corpses, that looks as if they only died yesterday, pristine and untouched by any influence of time. Their eyes are milky white.

Distributed among the coffins are ten potions, five wands and a large bronze key.

Ourboreia readily identifies the items: they're seven potions of cure serious wounds, three potions of remove curse, a wand of break enchantment (5 charges), a wand of freedom of movement (7 charges), a wand of lesser restoration (14 charges), a wand of searing light (13 charges, CL 10th), and a wand of shield of faith (42 charges).

The hall's shaking seems to have become louder in the resonance of the dark iris. Pieces of debris start descending from the ceiling.

Ceobryrn comments "The milky white eyes are signs of a blindness spell."

Reluctantly he offers "If there are no other ways, I'll let the table drain some of my health. I wonder if a summoned creature would suffice?"

Does Ceobryrn lie down, or does he summon something / wait for someone else to summon something?

The wizardess sighs, but shakes her head.

"I see no reason to see summoned creatures suffer instead of us. They help us defeat our foes, yes, but shan't be used to have their life drained. They're sentient beings, and for the most part of those I conjure, guardians of good."

Ceobryrn shrugs and lies down on the table.

Ceobryrn feels a dull, but intense pain as part of his life force is stripped away from him. When the pain subsides, he feels weakened, older.

The unstable cylinder stops vibrating, and so does the temple. All is quiet again, and now that the distraction is less, the group feel a draft coming from the northern staircase.

feeling a bit weaker, Ceobryrn get up from the table steadying himself by holding a hand on the table before straightening up "Not as bad as I feared, shall we check out the draft."

DMK any special rules concerning the damage such as for healing or such?

Nope, it's regular I-cut-my-finger-while-slicing-tomatoes damage.

The stairs lead up to the a hole in the building, and within jumping distance are a series of pillars.

Ouroboreia glances at the pillars, the wizardess suggest:

"Know that I can teleport myself and two other people for a short distance. I know that I'm incapable of acrobatics antics."

Via dim door, of course. Out of curiosity, how far are the pillars?

Tomatoes not too bad, lemons would burn like crazy.

The pillars consist of three gaps of ten feet each, the full gap is 120 feet (see map). The pillars are 50 feet off the ground.

Monty jumps pillar-top to pillar-top and eventual ends up in a chamber that ends in a heavy set of bronze doors.

Elindriel, too, jumps across, following in Monty's (and Lunchmeat's) footsteps.

Kyra eyes the gaps doubtfully. "Flight is not a power the Dawnflower has seen fit to grant me," she says.

I'll take a seat on the Dimension Door express if there's one available.

Ceobryrn also opts for a dimension door slot, he sends Lokie across. The Dog easily bounds from stone to stone.

After all the adventurers make it across, the key found in the burial tombs opens the large bronze doors. Behind it is a sanctum, with a basin of water giving the room a gentle atmosphere. Its sole occupant is a withered-looking, Garundi man, who stands tall, looking stately, and immediately asking

The wizardess bows respectfully, and replies in fluent Ancient Osiriani with nary an expression on her face:

"We have come to pay our respects, Amethyst sage. I am Ouroboreia, and me and my companions are the envoys of the bearer of the Diamond Jewel of your order, who is in dire need of your help to rebuild the order and restore its former glory. I am delighted to announce you that the satrapy of Kelesh does no longer hold Osiriani ground, and that their vile empire has receded to the other side of the Inner Sea. It is time to come out of your hiding place and shine in sovereigh Osiriani sun once again, if you will."
