Shel pulls both her Kukri. "Clear the way, everyone. It's too crowded to get through all of you.". While waiting, she keeps a watchful eye on Thalia, not chancing to let the girl escape.

Scorched by the flames, Radagash grins widely and says, "Shwush issh ahfa ahssh!" before raising his hands and aiming them towards the men behind the counter. A blast of flame erupts from the Gnome before he ducks to the side and gets clear of the doorway.

Cast Burning Hands at the two men. DC 16 Ref half

@ Ragadash: Not sure if I get your description. You would hit the gnome with burning hands, or is there a mechanic I'm unaware of?

Koriana lets out a ugh as an arrow hits her in the chest, getting stuck on a rib, and a knife slashes her throwing hand.

The two minions hack and slash away at Fizzbeard, but the latter shows who has the greater experience in battle. He delivers a mighty blow to Jyrnas, just as flames engulf him and the two swordsmen. Reflex for half

The flames badly scorch Koriana as well, who passes out under the pain. The swordsmen, looking less determined now, keep fighting.

Drawing another dagger with his throwing hand, Rikas hops onto the counter and throws the blade at the nearest standing foe. Behind him, his tail grabs another knife to transfer once the throw is accomplished.

I believe I can start the cone on any corner of my own square that I like, so I placed it starting on my bottom left corner, spreading SW so it would only hit the two swordsmen... Which I totally could but I thought the two most southern icons on the map were both swordsmen. So keep it as you interpreted? Sorry Fizz!

Radagash, in his haste to use his gifts, scorches his ally as well. "Lashash!" he calls out. He then looks at one of the swordsmen and calls out in a commanding voice, "BSSHAHHH!"

No problem. I'm higher level and have Lay on Hands for a reason.

Maldoc fires an arrow, trying to hit the man locked in combat with Fizzbeard. Narrowly avoiding the Taldorian, the arrow drills itself into the countertop, just as Fizzbeard lands a mighty blow on Mandas' skull. In unbelief, Mandas looks at Fizzbeard in unbelief as a trickle of blood seeps from his ear, then topples over. Jyrnas, after a terrifying near miss from a knife, sees the battle lost and shouts Mercy! Mercy! I surrender. Barnabas, who has only whimpered on the side lines during the battle, shout Oh no! They're bleeding to death! Quick, get some bandages!

Koriana and Mandas are lying on the floor, the life quickly flowing out of them.

"Bandages would be great! I still have that arrow wound from the manor place."

He looks at the fallen foes with no sympathy. The only thought going through his head is "I hope we did the right thing to get us paid."

Is that the end of combat, then?

If they have all surrendered, Fizzbeard walks up and disarms Koriana before throwing a rope around her and then healing her.

Disarmed and bound, Koriana has little option but to accept her defeat. Barnabas says please don't hurt me, as he tremblingly holds three flasks that he picked up from the shelves.

Heal the wounded, quickly! Maldoc will say as the battle ends. Oh, and the rogue as well or he'll continue to complain.

In a MotFF game that was my first with DM Kludde, my monk was hit in the first fight and despite numerous hints and such regarding healing I think he went 3 weeks real time without any aid. Good thing he is a Zen Archer...

I was only still up by the grace of the GM. Honestly, I'm not surprised no one helped. It's my own damn fault for not having any healing on my person, a fault that I intend to remedy.

Rikas grins at Maldoc's comment. "I guess my health plan of 'Don't get hit' didn't work out so well, eh?"

We have the same plan at the moment, my friend, responds the magus, realizing that he himself is slightly injured as well.

C.can I sell you some healing p.potions? Barnabas stutters. Meanwhile Thalia comes about, and in a feisty tone proclaims We should go and see Demrick, my father should be arrested right away!

Though she is right, you can't help but shake the feeling the current evidence - just the testimony of Thalia - may be somewhat thin.

Fizz can use any wands handed to him.

"Look around in the back, under the counter, everywhere." Fizz commands as he heals up whoever needs it.

I've got a wand I don't mind using either.

Maldoc will help the others in searching the premises. We'll need to bring this woman with us. Make sure she can travel.

Already being on the counter, Rikas nods at the gnome and hops down the other side and takes a good look in that area.

Also, has anyone gotten a sense on what Thalia's true motives might actually be? Maybe it's the way the words are looking to me as I read them but I get the impression that she is pretty eager to have us arrest her father. I could be seeing something that isn't there. Did we do a Sense Motive check that covered that?

Barnabas does not interfere as the adventurers search the shop, doing his best in keeping out of the way. Finally, as Rikas searches the back room, he finds a hidden stash of documents hidden under a floorboard under Koriana's writing desk. The documents are nothing short of shocking: they contain an almost complete journalling of the many corrupt actions of Tercio Andares. He turns out to be the ringleader of a circle of corrupt officials that maintain power by rigging local elections. There is also evidence pointing to Sander Bryton, who is involved in helping Tercio remain in power. Together with Thalia's testimony, this should provide more than sufficient evidence to prove Tercio guilty.

There's also a display case, which holds potions marked 'enlarge' 'reduce' and 'vanish'.

"I believe we have what we need. This should put Tercio away!"

Rikas brings the documents and journals out of the back room beaming with self-satisfaction. "I think it is, Shel. It's obvious even to me."

He sets everything down on the counter and leans beside it. "Well, girl, it seems you may be right about your old man, but where does that leave us? We can't exactly go back without what we came for."

Sander Bryton yields sufficient influence to get you the aid you came for Thalia says he is as corrupt as any of them, but most of this evidence is aimed towards my father.

Remember that Sander already vowed to aid the Pathfinders, thanks to Fizzbeard's stunning Diplomacy check

Other than that, you'll have to await the result of the trial. It should be rather swift, with all this evidence

The grin from his face vanishes as Rikas says simply, "I hate waiting."

At this point I should say: Congratulations! You've rescued Thalia from the vile plot surrounding her and managed to reveal the corruption of the elder Andares. You even managed to secure the aid of some fine Andoran troops.

I will report the scenario, but feel free, of course, to play out the aftermath of this scenario to discover (otherwise I'll post the conclusion later).

Thalia shrugs and says that's how the Andoran justice system works. It's good and fair though, and I'm confident that the state will recognise the interest of the Pathfinder Society. After all, you could have covered up the story in return for aid, and you didn't. Rikas is unsure whether that last remark was aimed at him.

"No, no, no, that wouldn't have done! This is the more honorable route and it will, of course, win great renown for the Pathfinders in this region and nation. And the Lord Smiad favors renown almost as much as he likes hunting dragons!"

"Well, my damsel Thalia, it seems you are no longer in distress. After we go talk to the sheriff and deal with your father, perhaps a bite to eat would help ease your recent suffering? Please, it's on me!"

I'll take you up on that offer, Fizzbeard. I've suffered enough from all the bantering of the past few days. Perhaps it'll be easier to deal with over a good meal! Maldoc gives a smile toward the gnome as he invites himself as a third wheel.

Rikas shrugs and grins again to the girl after her possibly pointed comment. "Any means to an end, love. After all, I believe it was the Andoran nation that went all anarchist to establish their views?" It's clear he's more bantering with her than accusing anything... at least he's trying to.

At mention of food, Rikas' stomach grumbles. "Could do with a bite, myself. Know of any good grubhouses?"

Fizzbeard looks a little flustered, "Oh! Ah, well. . . yes, ok! I meant a quiet dinner with myself and the Lady, but I suppose you can come along too, Maldoc. And you too, Rikas."

Quiet? You? This I must see! Or not hear as it were! Ha! Maldoc laughs and looks at the Lady as if to say, You're in for a long night.

Shel plops down satisfied, as the group banters.

Yet another successful mission I led! The Society will take note, I'm sure...

Fizzbeard, quick question...I love the idea of worshipper of Smiad. He is a perfect paladin deity, and I plan on creating Fizz's 'cousin' soon. Where can I find out more about Smiad? Pathfinder wiki didn't have much on him/her.

This, our dear watchers, is the conclusion of the adventurer, and where we leave to put our focus elsewhere. What happened after, you wonder? I can tell you. It turns out the Andoran justice system is swift and thorough: the judges rule that Tercio has betrayed his oath of office and Common Rule, and is stripped of titles, property and position. Tough she does have to make some concession, Thalia's fine example of adherence to the standards of common rule cause the judges to grant, in her favour, much of the family's property. Thalia makes a rich donation to the Society.

Although further investigations are still running against Sander Bryton as we leave this place, he has survived the Andares trial unscathed. Moreover, he has convinced General Reginald Cormoth to send eagle knights to the aid of Nerosyan - fulfilling the Society's needs.

Fizz spends the evening trying to scoot his chair closer to Thalia's but Maldoc and the rest keep interrupting his moves! Not one to give up on a mission, however, Fizz stays in town to "help the gal out" for a few more weeks.

Yes it was! I thought Fizz was something but now that I've met Ali I'm quite certain I'd rather travel with this guy!
