Lilianna Thraller
|
Once a rope is tied around her waist, Lilianna picks up the biggest rock she can find and takes to the bottom. A smile notably absent from her face.
Wet outside the tomb, wet inside the tomb, why did I accept this mission? At least there is a fire in the other room.
Swim Check: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (14) - 2 = 12
Lilianna flounders a bit, but finally begins to make headway as she dives beneath the water.

Assuming the kitsune is still with us can he inspire the cleric to help her on mission of getting the magical key?
| GM Hmm |
Lilianna takes a deep breath and dives beneath the water, searching unerringly for the one magical key in the pool. Once she finds it, she tugs on the rope and the rest of you haul her out. When she comes out, she discovers that the magical key unlocks the southwest door. The door leading to the southeast cannot be opened by the magical key, and is still locked.
[SW door is marked now with an arrow pointing to it on the map.]

And here is where I leave you, my lovelies! I'll let GM KApp handle you from here on out. Good luck!
| Rolandor Thessalya |
thanks for the help!
Rolandor looks at the key from the other room.
This might fit...looks scorched like the lock....
He goes and checks for any traps or alarms on the door before putting the key in.
perc: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20+1more for traps

There are no traps on the door and it seems to open easily enough.
Inside the room is a single stone bench, covered in dust like the rest of the chamber. On the far wall is a faded mural of the hero Kassen, fighting outside the entrance to this very crypt.
His blade is deep in the chest of what seems to be the mercenary leader - all around them, a scene of carnage. Bodies of townsfolk and mercenaries alike litter the ground.
I like to streamline a few things, so we don't have a bunch of posts that are just single checks. If anyone has opposition, just let me know in Discussion or through PM.

Lilianna Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Slade Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
At the other side of the room is a hallway, leading to a turn and another door.
Lilianna Thraller

"This is an impressive mural! If I were an artist, I'd love to recreate it."
Seeing nothing else of note in the room, Lilianna moves towards the next door and waits for the rest of the party.
Lilianna Thraller
|
"I've never seen these before. Perhaps they were part of some group?"
Is there a knowledge check to roll?
GM KApp
|
No knowledge checks to be made at this time.

Having already seen this door's brother, you think that this may be another one-way door - but this one opens from the side you are on.
Anya Polina
|
A tall, pale skinned woman wearing blue robes walks up to the party. Her hair is platinum blonde with a slight silver sheen to it. Her eyes are ice blue and her lips a dark blue, almost purple. She does not carry a staff, but you see a slim dagger at her side.
"Greetings. I am Anya Polina, Jadwiga. I was sent here by the Master of Spells to assist you in your exploration of this so called Evercrypt. Tell me what you have learned so far."
a slight pause
"Please."
Winter witch 2
I gots loots to spend so my profile is not quite up to date. I might change my spells out as well.
Garth Frogg

"Good day," says an innocuous looking grippli. "I heard that you needed some help. I was sent with Anya, and no, I am not her familiar."
The frog looks strangely at each of the Pathfinders, sending shivers up and down their spines. At Rolandor, he looks a little more intensely, and the rogue sees ... colors ... coming out of the grippli's eyes. "There, now I can help you when you are in combat. I can give you a temporary flank, by projecting an image of myself."

"Like I would lower myself to call you my familiar."
An ermine pokes its head out of a satchel to hiss at Garth. Anya reaches down to scratch her familiar behind its ears.
"There, there Novina. I'm sure he would be very tasty if we were to braise his legs in wine with shallot and leek."
Anya stares right back at the grippli, fighting off the urge to use Evil Eye.

Are grippli allowed in PFS?
With a boon, yes.
Ignoring Anya's... banter... being used to it with the long journey from Absalom, Garth Frogg says, "Yes, a recap of what you know and what you encountered on your way in would be excellent. Would be good to know what we're up against!"
Lilianna Thraller
|
"I'm so happy to meet you all! I am Lilianna Thraller. I am a cleric of Sarenrae. Slade is correct, up until now, we have met resistance from undead monsters, but the Everlight's divine might as kept as safe thus far. We also found a man who was in here with a group of villagers. His sister is still further inside!"
Once the conversation ends, Lilianna will be ready to continue through the door.
Anya Polina
|
"Undead? Really?"
sigh
"Sorinya and I will have words when I return to Absalom. Who sends a Winter Witch to eliminate undead?" Anya shakes her head.
Um... good thing I picked up a wand of Magic Missile, eh? This aught to be fun. All of my spells are either cold or mind effecting.
Garth Frogg
|
"I have to agree with you on that one, Anya. She also sent a mesmerist on the same mission," says Garth Frogg.
Anya Polina
|
So where exactly are we on the map? Is it safe to assume any stretch not covered by green tile was explored and cleaned out? Help me Obi-kapperson! You're my only hope!
E'li
|
These undead have provided to be annoying but we have been able to defeat them, with the help of the gods.
Garth Frogg
|
Sure... good with me.
The grippli just stands there, staring at his new team mates, holding his crossbow.
Garth Frogg
|
Before the team opens the door, Garth Frogg pulls out a scroll of mage armor and tries to cast it. He does so, successfully, and then calmly stays to the rear of the team. As if he heard E'li's thoughts, he cleans off his eyes with his tongue, to make sure the sparks (that are not really there) shine through.

No traps!
Ahead is a long corridor, flanked by rows of human statues, set into alcoves on each side. The statues each have the likeness of Kassen, each one holding a longsword up in front of it. The blades of the near statues seem to have leather sheaths tied to them.
When you have a moment, please review slide 2 of the map and establish a 2*2 and single file marching order that I can use as a default - please use the Discussion thread to talk about it.

"Very interesting..." says Garth, ignoring the witch's quip. He then casts detect magic fearing the worst out of those statues.

Per GM request I have lined us up

The blades stay in place, making it difficult to move.
Blue statues are difficult terrain to pass. Red statues require Acrobatics or Escape Artist checks to pass.

Anya flicks her wrist and produces a wand. She begins chuckling to herself. Novina tries to escape her pouch but Anya catches her. "Now now, Novina, you can't eat him yet."
casts Infernal Healing on Garth
Garth Frogg

As he wakes up, Garth says, "Well, that was unfortunate. Whoda thunk that was a trap. Damn, that stings." He stands there for a minute as the healing does its trick, muttering to himself... wringing his hands.
