Game Master Blake's Tiger

Snorting in frustration, frothed sweat reflecting in the moonlight, the minotaur tries to gore the halfling Pathfinder. He stomps his hooves and bares his fangs before lowering his head and charging.

The minotaur's horn catches Janira in the armpit and lifts her, tossing her into the air. She lands nimbly on her feet and stumbles back as she tosses a bag at her assailant. She cheers despite her dire situation as the bag hits and tar explodes all over the minotaur, gluing it to the ground.

"Ha ha! Take that, servant of Lamashtu!"

Arsena moves closer, pushing through the untamed brush as best she can. It’s a struggle to move closer, but it’s close enough. She looses another arrow at the minotaur. Despite the dire situation, Arsena can’t help but grin and jokes, ”Do you really need our help, ma’am? Looks like you got this handled alright all by yourself.”

Xugra continues rushing through the brush and towards the fallen log, unsure if he wants to dive in and swim, or risk losing his footing on the log and having to swim anyway.

Kaya pushes her way through the thick bramble, ignoring the scratches from small brambles as she focuses on getting to a clear spot. Emerging from the brush she stands on the bank and yells, "Hey you UGLY COW!!! Why don't you PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE!!!"

Lumbering behind his companions, he stops within range of all his companions. "Yas hurry! I be dere soon, Irori help!"

Without another word, a burst of blue energy radiates from the dwarven man engulfing all his companions, except Janira.

Cast Bless - +1 Moral bonus to attack and saves vs fear for 1 minute. However, the save vs fear doesn't stack with Inspire Courage (Attack does)

The sorcerer will pull out a scroll and read it casting magic missile at the beast

Irori's divine blessing falls upon the heroes in answer to Durvak's prayers.

As the symbols fade from Theodic's scroll, a translucent bolt of energy flies skillfully through the underbrush, around trees, and smacks the minotaur solidly between the eyes. The beast turns its baleful gaze towards the cave, trying to determine from whence the attack came.

He sees Xugra and Kaya emerge from the underbrush.

"Oh, yes. Things are quite under--" Janira begins to shout back at Arsena.

The minotaur roars and flexes is muscles, causing the strands of tar holding it to the surrounding ground to break. "Graaaagh!"

"Oh crap!" Janira shouts as the minotaur lumbers towards her, remnants of the sticky tar slowing its movements.

As Janira flees from the minotaur, he takes a swipe at her with its horns. Thankfully, the halfling woman's chain shirt absorbs the entirety of the blow. She slips and slides across the log but makes it to the other side. "Whew!"

This is the best that I have seen Janira do in this encounter! :)

The sorcerer will run to the bridge, wand out, in case he might need to use it.

Kaya quickly pulls her crossbow arms back, locking them into place and slipping a bolt into the channel. Thinking she sees a vulnerable spot she aims carefully and lets loose.

Move to Load Crossbow, Standard to Fire

Arsena stays where she is, having ample room to fire another arrow at the minotaur from across the river. She looses her next missile at the beast, shouting, ”You best get! There’s nothing for you on this side o’ that river ‘cept pain!”

Stepping forward, he spies the underbrush. 'Was dere sumtin...drink given ter me...'

The dwarves eyes light up suddenly and he starts digging through his pack. Producing a flask of liquid, he downs the stuff.

5' step. Move pull out flask of feather step. Standard to drink

"Kaya, be careful there. I'm pretty sure that thing won't have much trouble with the river."

Xugra draws his axe and stays next to the halfling wizard, prepared to attack if the minotaur fords the river.

Readied Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 1 + 1 + 1 = 10
Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 2) + 9 = 15

Durvak feels what might be a new experience for him: light and airy, as though he could dance on the tops of clover without crushing them. Meanwhile, Theodic moves to intercept Janira.

Janira grabs his belt and tugs on it in return. "Come on!" she shouts as she moves into the cover of the underbrush and readies her whip to strike.

The minotaur considers his options. It begins clumsily moving towards the log, snarling and cursing as one of Arsena's arrows finally strikes.

"Goth mak ni suptur! Argh!" Kaya's crossbow bolt interrupts him as Irori's blessing guides it to weak point in the minotaur's hide and the sticky tar makes it too slow to react.

Giggling as the sensation persists, Durvak continues to skip through the underbrush.

"Me 'ike buttfly!" exclaims the bearded man as he moves closer to their foe. "Is tingles!"

As the minotaur continues to advance, Arsena steels herself and nocks another arrow. He don’t know when to quit, does he? she thinks as she fires off another shot.

Kaya repeats her actions, adjusting her aim slightly towards a different soft spot as the beast turns away and lumbers towards the log.

When the minotaur doesn't immediately charge forward Xugra decides that he's tired of waiting and dives into the stream and swims across to the behemoth. As he makes it to the other side he swings his sword hard, roaring as he does, eager to finish the fight.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 1 + 1 + 1 = 25

The minotaur snarls as it twists aside to avoid the brunt of Theodic's flames. Xugra rises up from the stream with a dramatic splash of water and cleaves his greatsword deeply into the beast's back.

The staggered minotaur looks defeated and ready to retreat when Arsena puts an arrow into its chest. The beast falls, dying.

"Yes!" Janira shouts, "What teamwork! What skill!"

This is the first time that I have seen people actually use the items in the bag, go us!

Upon seeing the large beast fall, Durvak immediately shouts a prayer to the heavens. "Irori! Save it. Iffen it pass, it no learn yous wisdom!"

A white beam of light shoots down from the heavens but a moment later, entering through the dwarves fist-like birthmark. Pointing a finger at the minotaur, the light rockets forward and engulfs the creature. Though still face down, it's wounds cease their bleeding.

Panting from the effort, he smiles. "Tis...tis good." Looking to Janira, he gasps, "Yas 'urt. Commere."

Once she's in range, he whispers another prayer, praising her heroics. A much thinner beam of blue light enters his body and his hands begin to glow. Touch the woman, the blue light rushes to her wounds and begins to mend them. Activating the pearl they'd located, he repeats the process.

"Ya better?"

Cast stabilize on Minotaur and CLW 2x on Janira.

"Nice shot Arsena!" Xugra yells back as her arrow drops the minotaur. He wrings the water out of his hair and turns to Janira.

"You fought it off the whole time we were in there!?" He smiles at the halfling. "No offense but you're tougher than you look."

After she's been healed and the party relaxes Xugra tells Janira about Uori and the information he provided to the party.

"Thank you, Durvak," Janira says as the dwarf tends her wounds, looking much stronger as Iori's divine grace heals her body. "Honestly, I spend most of my time running and hiding. Unfortunately, the brute sniffed me out every time until he cornered me here. Good thing you emerged when you did!"

The minotaur begins to snore.

"Um?" Janira eyes the comatose minotaur, "Maybe we'll camp somewhere else."

That must be the most prudent course of action remarks the sorcerer.

"Ah, iff ya wanten, I kin wake him fer ya." remarks the dwarf.

Smiling he wanders over to the minotaur and awaits Janira's response.

Kaya feels a small twinge of guilt as the minotaur falls bleeding. Not completely sure what Durvak did to it, her conscience is calmed a little bit when it starts snoring. "It probably just thought we were invading its territory, I"m glad it isn't dead though. Thank you Durvak."

She runs over to Janira, hopping with excitement. "That. Was. AWESOME!!! The way you whipped away the weapon, then tangled him all up in that stuff! WOW!"

Spellcraft to ID Durvak's first spell: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

"No, no, no, no, no!" Jarina protests Durvak's suggestion to waken the minotaur, "I'm sure we're all very spent, and I don't think he'll be happy when he wakes up. Let sleeping dogs lie, as they say."

Janira grins at Kaya. "Well, I am an experienced Pathfinder." She chatters on with Kaya while leading you somewhere safer and more hidden to camp.

Arsena grins. Stowing her bow and making her way over to the others, she places her fists on her hips as she addresses Janira. "Y'know, ma'am, I must admit I wasn't so sure about this whole 'Pathfinder' business. But I gotta say, this was pretty inspirin'."

Turning to the other neophyte Pathfinders, she grins even wider. "I've been livin' alone so long, it's been awful nice explorin' and fightin' alongside y'all. Once we get back to the city, maybe I'll see some of y'all again when I head out on the next thing."
