Seeing the events across the bridge unfold, Oberon ponders if he can do anything to help. He knows that shooting a bolt into the mix will do quite little, and he doesn't have spell that would be much help either.
"You all are doing great! Keep at it. How that rug, tiger, skull looking thing we don't like wanna be bridge trolls bother us during our adventures!"

Bottom flees, while Copper tries another tactic.
Guillaume continues to struggle while Dravil and Eagungad fail to land a blow on the supernaturally fast non-tiger.
Your rolls have been appalling!
In this situation I'm happy to allow missile fire as an aid-another in combat. Look on it as distracting the tiger and letting someone else slip in a blow.

Now the high rolls come out.
Kitty falls over, very dead. Blood everywhere. Nobody is going to make a carpet out of that.

Copper pokes the dead thing with his sword. Looking over his shoulder he shouts at Bottom. "Come back Bottom, you coward. It's dead."
From out of the tree, an acorn flies at the group. Shortly followed by another. After one hits Copper and just bounces off he moves into the forest to get Bottom down.

Landing unelegantly on the jungle floor, Guillaume lets out an ooph, and gather himself up. The scratch he received from the tiger heal quickly as Bonifacius' healing energy washes over him. Taking a deep breath, he says Well, at least the bridge didn't collapse. Let's move on!

![]() |

The hazards now detected and bypassed, the team rapidly presses on-wards.
You pass odd statues, defaced in recent years, and a from time to time see signs of traps that had been laid and have been sprung.
Once in the distance you hear the distinctive sound of a kobold patrol, but manage to avoid it. After a tense period of time the trail comes to an end in another old ruin...
What remains of the ruins’s heart may have once been a shrine. Demolished walls encircle an ancient dais, atop which a shattered anvil-shaped altar lies defaced with dried blood, chalk markings, and other detritus. The bones of dozens of humanoid creatures are scattered about the building, along with the larger skeletal remains of what may be wyverns or drakes that are marred with deep claw marks. Behind the altar, a large stairwell stained with the blood of countless creatures descends into some dark vault below. Chained along the stairwell are a number of the miners.
The altar was once dedicated to Torag
Most of the skeletal remains littering the ruin were slain by a creature with powerful claws, for marks from its savage attacks are etched deep into the bones.
The wyvern bones are centuries old
Several kobolds are in the temple proper, painting captives with red and white patterns with a single yellow wing upon each human’s forehead. Others are nearby, singing and chanting.
It looks as if the captives are being prepared for sacrifice...
The kobolds are not yet aware of you.

I have put the kobolds on the map...
One of the kobolds moves towards the miners and starts to unshackle the one who is closest to the altar.

I think we better move quick, unless one of you is interested in watching a kobold ritual. Guillaume whispers, as he brings his Glaive to the ready and moves to a position that allows him to charge in. He briefly makes eye contact with Dravil, as if to ask Ready?
