The plants other than the orange one, while carnivorous are no hazard to you for the rest of this encounter. Just don't fall asleep under them.

The only immediate threat was the leaf. Boni can't reach it with her axe, but that roll would have been good enough to hit with her sling...
Boni drops the leaf out of the sky with a well placed sling-stone, while Eagungad falls asleep. There is no immediate threat left, although Copper is still suffering from the poison.
Copper can you give me another five fortitude saves please?
The miner is sleepy but can be wakened and moved away from the carnivorous plants that remain. In the area you find there are still some bits of serviceable equipment - a bit of a surprise in this environment. A quick detect magic shows why.
To make life easier, I'll assume you can identify these.

There are also some rare leaves that Copper identifies as being quite valuable to an alchemist.

Once he ensures the area is secure, Guillaume awakens the miner. Hello, are you all right? Listen to me. You've been attacked by carnivorous plants. The plants used a sleep gas on you. We arrived in time to save you and kill the plants. Now, I need you to answer me a few questions...
Guillaume then asks
Who do you work for? Were you a prisoner of the kobolds? What direction were they heading?

![]() |

The miner looks scared. "The others... a dozen of us were carried off... I just felt so tired...We were with the Golden Crown.."
She points to the spot she had fallen asleep.
Nearby there are several items that seem to have survived a bit better than most of the rusted equipment that litters this plant-kitchen.
I think you can make the spellcraft checks with take ten
+1 studded leather armor, a masterwork scimitar, and
two potions of cure light wounds.
The trail onwards from here is quite clear, but what are you to do with the miner?

![]() |

To the miner, "Do you think you can make your way back safely to the camp?"
If so: "Wonderful. You did well." Turning to the group,"Let's grab the equipment here and move on."
If not: "Suppose we should take her back to the camp? Then we can come back and push forward. Let's grab the equipment here before we leave though."

![]() |

We'd jeopardize saving the whole company for the benefit of one man. We can have him follow us, but he's probably too tired to keep up with us. The road back didn't seem too dangerous - save for the plants, we've encountered little danger. How about we give him some supplies, and let him set out. Or, we can shelter him here somewhere, and pick him up on the way back.
If we can find the way back, that is

![]() |

She shakes her head.
" I is too far, but I won't go on either. If I climb to the top of the switchback.. I'll wait a day for you there." says the miner - hopeful of both a rescue for her friends and also an escort back.

![]() |

You take care there, and we'll be back for you. When we do, I'd like to discuss about your company a bit more. Guillaume says.
He then turn to his companions: We've got a decent chase ahead of us. At least this time we have a sky over us when we walk through the sludge. Guillaume says, referring back to his bad experiences in the sewers.
I hear many pathfinders have crawled the underbelly of Absalom, or some other city. Won't find me there. Any of you had such and he makes a dirty face "luck"?

![]() |

You follow the trail without any real difficulty for a couple of miles, when you are faced with a new obstacle.
A deep ravine divides the valley here, bridged only by an ancient and crumbling span of stone reinforced by haphazard wooden reinforcements. A pair of ancient dwarven statues flanks either side of the bridge, each in considerable disrepair. An ancient stone building partly consumed by the jungle is visible across the ravine.

![]() |

While Oberon inspects the ravine, Guillaume focuses on the bridge, hoping that the weathered construction is more robust than it look at first sight.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3

![]() |

I updated the map.
The chasm is around 20' across. Looking down in is a long way. Hundreds of feet. Fatal distance.
Someone has performed basic repairs and installed scaffolding to keep the bridge from collapsing completely

![]() |

Somebody has taken the trouble to patch it up, which means it is still in use. If the kobolds passed over here, they probably took the prisoners. That means the bridge can hold at least two. As long as we pass one by one, we have a good chance the bridge holds.
I'm not sure a 'good chance' will cut it, though. Better be careful and tie a rope, we have enough of that anyway.
Guillaume doesn't mind being the first to cross, tying an end of rope solidly around his waist.

![]() |

As he walks cautiously forward Guillaume grows in confidence in the bridge. It won't last forever, but the next decade or two should be fine.
<swish>
Suddenly he finds himself investigating it from an unusual angle as he is hauled into the air by some type of noose wrapped around his leg.
Somewhat more worrying is the large tiger-like creature that has leapt out at him.

Copper shoots and misses, while Bottom plays on the bridge. Eagungad dashes past to set up a flank. His first blow misses, but the second lands nicely.
Technically that is probably not a flank as Guillaume is not exactly threateing the cat, but it is distracted by him for food, so I'll allow it. Someone can stand in the same square if they want, as he is 10' up.

Sorry for the delay. Round 1

but, he misses again.

Actually this creature would be knowledge(arcana), not nature. The tiger can reach up to attack things in the net, but is not itself 10' in the air

![]() |

Copper looks at the tiger and wrinkles his head. "I don't know what that is, but it's no tiger.... It's not natural."

![]() |

A flurry of ineffective attacks on the tiger obviously confirm Copper's assessment that the creature is not natural.
Of course all doubt is removed as it pulls back the skin from its face, showing its skull and emits a horrible roar - at Bottom.
