Lasaraleen takes her swipes. She moves to flank if possible...and hit it while prone.
Maybe we should grapple it?

Lasaraleen nicks the kobold, drawing still more blood.
"Enough!" he says in thickly accented Taldane.
"You have bested me through numbers not skill. But as a horde of ants may devour a tiger you have overwhelmed me. I ask you leave me my dignity. Take your people and depart. My tribe will be here soon but I have failed to hold you off."
The poor little fellow looks quite dejected.
A quick rummage around generates a key that can be used to unlock the miners. Also poking out from under some rubble you spot a leather satchel bearing the Glyph of the Open Road. Within are some spoiled rations, a potion bottle and a notebook.
A quick look through it is quite interesting.
Really up to you if you want to continue the battle at this stage, he is obviously on his last legs.

"YOUR dignity?" says a bewieldered Iago. "What about MY dignity? And you let us fight on? And ... You know what? Lets call it a draw. We'll take our people, you'll tell lies to your people and MAYBE we'll be able to talk to a more reasonable person when we come back to discuss this ENTIRE mess which is clearly your fault you handbag. I think Sharrowsmith just farted at an inopportune moment, this guy or his idiot cousin thought it was an insult and it just cascaded from there on out. Someone calmer talk to this creature because between these things, the journey here and the general predisposition everything in this damnable jungle has towards killing us, I am not capable of talking to this thing."
And with that said he storms off towards the miners, proceeding to undo their bonds; but not necessarily in the gentlest of manners.

Unless anyone really wanted to finish the fight
You manage to get the miners back to Fort Bandu without any real difficulty, picking up the one you rescued from the vines.
Of course without difficulty discounts the stealthy leopards, hungry plants, sheer drops and deadly heat that you all face. But it's not like you haven't overcome such obstacles before.
Within Fort Bandu there is much celebration at the return of the miners, and the Golden Crown company is very pleased indeed.
For the moment the pathfinder society is back in the good books of the town.
I don't think there were any Exchange members on the team apart from Adna, but correct me if I'm wrong about that.
I messed up earlier a little when you were at the miners camp. If you wanted to you had a chance to search the camp site for useful information and find a log book with the location of a mine in it. There are two competing mining companies in the area - the Golden Crown (the company the miners belonged to) and the Deep Treasure company.
On behalf of The Exchange you can try to negotiate a deal with the Deep Treasure company if you like by handing over the log book with the location of the mine.
You can also try to negotiate a deal with the Golden Crown company. You will get a substantial bonus on that if you give them the logbook with the information.
Let me know who you give the log book to (it rightfully belongs to the Golden Crown if Idna cares about that), and then make one or two skill checks.
Your choice of Appraise, Diplomacy or Profession(merchant). You only get to make the check with Deep Treasure if you give them the logbook.
D'lack Firestar
|
D'Lack agrees to let go the Kobold, after all he was a worthy opponent and they don't want to anger the tribe.
May be their action will prove they are not simple murderer but honorables opponents accepting a surrender without more bloodshed.
A good mission after all.
D'lack says to Iago after his speach.
They talk about a Golden Guardian as their god for which they want to sacrifice these poor miners. May be Sarrowsmith did something that anger enough this "Guardian" which turns against this kobolds and they tries to calm it down by sacrificing the miners... We need to know more about this Golden Guardian and how to apease it.
Will Hawk
|
Will breathes a sigh of relief, as this was a tough opponent.
"I admit, you are more skilled than I. Wherever did you learn to fight like that? It is unfortunate that we must be on opposite sides, but I accept your surrender."
After getting the key and supplies, he continues. "Please, have your people give us a wide berth, and let's hope our sails do not cross paths again soon."

"Did he say more were coming? We better get these miners out of here. Gather around."

Idna Fornan
|
Seeing an opportunity to welcome two companies into the Exchange, Idna will return with the rescued miners to the Golden Crown mining company, but secretly bring the logbook to the Deep Treasure mining company. She will then try to strike deals with each company to convince them to do business with the Exchange.
Diplomacy (Golden Crown): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Diplomacy (Deep Treasure): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
Diplomacy (2 star GM reroll for Deep Treasure): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Not including any circumstance modifiers for any checks.
Illirio Mellek
|
Before they depart, Illirio steps up to the dejected kobold and offers him a handful of spiced jerky. Crouching down so that they are eye level, he warily speaks to it.
"Brave warrior, why are your people so angry? What did that previous human explorer do to upset the kobold tribes so much, and send you after our people to kill and enslave them? Does it have to do with the winged guardian of this valley? Or the golden orb?"

"We need sacrifices to placate the Golden One. You big people woke him, only fair that you keep him quiet too."
Idna manages to cut deals with both companies (but I probably can't do your chronicle until Monday sorry)
