Irorium Layout (Exits and Seating)
Please note, the map is representative, and not an actual layout of the Irorium!
The Irorium has five public entrances, the main gate and four side gates. A sixth gate to the south is a work entrance reserved for gladiators, arena workers, and other performers.

Main Gate: The main gates face north. On the mezzanine level, a 20-foot-wide stone arch opens onto an equally wide marble stairwell that descends out onto the street. The stairwell corridor is 300 feet long. At street level, the corridor can be barricaded with a pair of barred iron gates.

Side Gates: There are four side exits, all connected to the mezzanine level. Each exit leads through a 20-footwide stone arch that opens to an equally wide marble stairwell, which in turn descends out onto the street. On the mezzanine level, the stairwell corridor is 300 feet long. The upper level stairwells are 500 feet long. At the street level, the corridor can be barricaded with a pair of barred iron gates.

Service Exit: The service exit is located on the arena floor, just behind the makeshift stage. Only Irorium workers and performers are permitted to use it; anyone attempting to pass through the doors without permits is denied. All would-be trespassers are sent off by a platoon of surly guards. Beyond the entrance, a main passage connects to side chambers used by gladiators and arena workers. All creatures, gladiators, workers, and others involved with events use this route to gain access to the arena floor.

SeatsThe Irorium has four seating levels. To avoid undue attention, the Society has provided you with mezzanine level seats. Those with mezzanine seats are permitted to sit anywhere in mezzanine or the three levels above. There are no specific assigned seats; seating is general and all seating consists of stone or wooden bleachers.

Hey everyone. I just got word that our network at school is down tomorrow (my grades are due Friday, good thing I didn't procrastinate!) I'm also closing on a house and moving this weekend.

Oh man, I just realized I totally messed up the History check. I was looking at the wrong Knowledge skill. Both Alvin's and Riddy's checks should have been 4 lower as Knowledge (History) isn't as high as others.

The difference Alvin failed it completely and Riddy got the DC 20 but not DC 25. Woops, sorry, but honest mistake, heh. Thought I'd at least point it out though. I try so hard to make my characters crystal-clear and audit them so they are accurate, but then I mess up something simple like reading the wrong skill. XD

The guide specifically states you can do things like drop spells on other players if they consent to it, and it sounds like Ragnar consented to Alvin fireballing on top of the snake. He made the foolish mistake of saying "It's fine, I have evasion."

That's fine. Channel is an easy thing for me to GM-NPC Kyra into doing, and works at range which is handy. I also don't like choosing specific spells for folk to cast, as that may remove specific options they want later.

Sometimes a rollback may be too hard or impractical for other reasons, but in this situation it wasn't too mad.

Between many many alchemist fires, being set on fire 5 times, being fireballed, and thrashing around on the ground I'm gonna say Hugsy's novelty hat is gone. When this is all over I may buy him a real one.

Thorn there are a couple of things you can do when faced with incorporeal undead that are cheaper then just buying ghost touch weapons.
Holy Water works on them. You have to pour it on them but it works. You have UMD so you could use a wand of Mage Armor on the tanks or a wand of Magic Missile. Remember that you get +2 to the UMD roll if you have activated it before. And our local Rogue has an interesting gimmick: A wand of acid splash. You can do a ranged touch attack and add your sneak attack damage if they are flatfooted. And since it is conjuration you don't need to roll to bypass DR with the wand.

Yeah I... unfortunately didn't bring that stuff. Hence the unprepared bit.


While we are at a lull, does anyone have ideas as to useful things Lem can do beyond Inspire during combat? He doesn't have many spells, so I usually can't use those, and his swordplay feels pretty useless. This is a new character class to me, so I could use ideas.

The bardic increase is awesome.

That being said aiding and flanking are ALWAYS welcome.

That inspire, especially when matched with machine gun Ragnar is really good. plus ten in raw damage, and figure an extra 10% hits over misses as well. And then add in the same bonus on the others.

If you have 2 second level spells left heroism on Thorn and Ragnar would counteract the negative levels for 70 minutes (140 minutes with lesser extend meta magic rod)

Bards are great buffers but finding things they can do in combat is half the battle especially with the pregen

Ragnar only gets 5 attacks when hasted. But yes Inspire and Heroism are both ideal on characters with multiple attacks. The fact that Heroism adds to skills and saves is a big bonus.
I really like that Bards get Heroism as a 2nd level spell because it isn't competing with a lot of other good 2nd level spells. While Wizards can take it as a 3rd level spell but rarely do because there are so many good options at that level.

Some bards will skip Heroism because Good Hope is also a morale bonus but it hits the whole party and adds to more things. But 3rd level is a crowded level for bards also since they have use for Dispel Magic, Haste, See Invisibility, and believe it or not Tiny Hut. Blocking line of sight for your enemies but not your allies can have a big effect vs casters and ranged attackers.


I have three level 2 spells left, so I would be happy to use one on each of those who have been negative levelled. I'll go ask in character in gameplay.


How does the lesser extend metamagic wand work? It looks like it doubles the duration of the spell. Does the spell still use up a slot one higher?

By the way, thanks for helping me through some of this. My experience is almost all below level 5, so many of the rules and objects that don't come into play until higher level are unfamiliar.

The beauty of the rod is that it DOESN'T increase the level of the spell. You can use it on 3 spells each day, but no spell above 3rd level.

Right. You use the rod and a 2nd level slot and Heroism will last 140 minutes. Lesser Extend metamagic rod only costs 3,000 gold and doubles the duration of any 3rd level or less spell 3 times per day. Since most of the best buffs in the game are 3rd level or less and last either 10 minutes per level or 1 hour per level it is a great buy.

While it doesn't effect Ragnar there are multiple ways in PFS to earn more then 150 gold for a Day Job. I imagine it can be fixed by posting about it in the comment section of the form.

That is fine, you just use the chronicle as normal but take the 500 gold rather than the listed amount. You still get the boon, but it is not usable until 7th level.
