To make my life easier, if you could each put in a single post with:
1: Character name
2: Your name (as you want it to appear on the chronicle sheet)
3: Your faction (note we had may as well use the new faction names for season 6)
4: PFS # for the character
5: Day job roll (or indication you don't have one)
6: starting XP, starting PP, starting Fame, Starting wealth, and what chronicle # this will be for the character
7: What scenarios has the character completed? (or been credited with)
Try to hold off actual discussion here until we have one post per character with those details (makes life easy for me to make the chronicles for you all at the end).

@Ironman a couple of questions
1: You have fighter listed as favoured class, but from the FC bonsues, I'm guessing it is actually Magus? You may want to fix that.
2: How many charges do the wands have left?
3: Just for interest, which scenarios has IronMan completed? (I should add that to the default questions really)

Wands: CLW 24 charges left.
I also have a lot of alchemical items which I always keep 3 of each and recraft used ones at the end of a session.
Also applied Mendevian Weapon Training boon on him which grants me proficiency with a breastplate for 4 pp.
GM Aerondor
|
My reading of Mendevian Weapon Training boon was that you got proficiency only with that specific item. The boon didn't grant a mithril breastplate.
Tarquin-RK
|
True. I bought the mithril one.
EDIT: Actually after rereading. You get a masterwork version of the weapon or armor as well. I guess I can sell that and get 1/2 of the 350 it is worth.
Mendevian Weapon Training: Queen Galfrey of Mendev understands both that poorly equipped
crusaders are of little use to the ongoing war against demonkind and that an inadequately trained
crusader cannot make effective use of good equipment. As a result, those who dedicate themselves to
the Fifth Crusade have access to training and equipment that might not otherwise be available. When
you would be permitted a Day Job check, you may instead spend 4 Prestige Points to receive intensive
training with a specific weapon or suit of armor. You receive a masterwork version of the weapon or
armor, and you gain proficiency in that specific weapon or armor (but not others of its type). If you
are already proficient with the selected armor or weapon, you instead gain a +2 bonus to CMD against
disarm and sunder combat maneuvers targeting the chosen item.
Choose the weapon or armor from the following list: breastplate, glaive, heavy shield, or longsword.
GM Aerondor
|
Given you may have got it in error, it'd probably be okay to refund the PP you spent on it if you wanted to.
Luke_Parry
|
Just as an FYI, Mendevian Weapon Training allows you to spend 4PP to gain proficiency with a *specific* suit of armor or weapon - so in this case, for example, the MW Breastplate that you trained in. It does not give you proficiency with all breastplates.
Tarquin-RK
|
Oh damn, read over that specific bit. Is there any way to transform or transmute it into mythril?
Luke_Parry
|
Not that I am aware of, unfortunately :-/
However, for the Mithral Breastplate specifically, there is a way around not being proficient with it - as all 'non-proficiency' does is apply the armour's ACP to attack rolls (which in this case in -1), if you have the 'Comfort' armour upgrade applied to it, or the 'Armour Expert' trait (both of which reduce the ACP by 1), you effectively nullify the non-proficiency penalty (since applying a penalty of zero to attack rolls has no effect!) :-)
Tarquin-RK
|
So either 5k upgrade or a trait. Man I love my traits and my gold :p.
It really lessens the use of the boon.
With the GMs permission I will remove the boon from my character for now. And put my regular chain shirt +1 back on. Maybe with an enhanced longstrider potion it could be useful but I have to ponder about it.

GM Aerondor

Agreed- as you spent them thinking it was different.
I looked hard at the boon for myself. I ended up deciding that Luke_Parrys reading was right, but makes it a bit of an expensive waste of time. I kind of hoped it would make you proficient in all versions of that weapon or armour (which would be almost the same as a feat) - which for four pp would be fair.
That was why I went for long distance support for my boon - yay 20s.
Luke_Parry
|
I wouldn't call it a waste of time, but it is not an overwhelmingly good choice - you just need to be creative :-)
Mostly, it is a flavorful way to grant a PC that wouldn't otherwise have access to martial weapons, proficiency with one - the downside being that they can't have it made from 'special materials' (although there are spells that can at least partially mitigate that - for example, Heart of Metal allows you to temporarily make a weapon adamantine, cold iron, or silver for the duration of the spell).

@ Aerondor,
Would it be alright for me to "re-flavor" my actions, in the game play thread?. I say "re-flavor" instead of "re-skin" since my I'm not saying anything is different that what it is is just describing my actions in a different way to add flavor to the character. Since I know there has been a lot of discussion on the issue in regards to PFS I wanted to clear it with you before doing in the Game Play thread.
An example would be that normally I would have had described Iron Man's helmet opening on its own, or had the liqueur pour from a spout on his gauntlet.
Thanks
Tarquin-RK
|
Was hoping to use it for this alchemist or my mounted summoner. Can't think of anything that would want a breastplate that is NOT mithril to change it into a light armor :/.
Hawk Lifebinder
|
Anyone who wants the AC but feels that the gold is better spent elsewhere :)
Which honestly is pretty reasonable. A +2 chain shirt for example is a similar in price to a Mithril Breastplate, and 4k gold gets you a headband or belt.
Right now Hawk is in normal breastplate and I am strongly debating whether or not mithril breastplate is his next purchase.
Luke_Parry
|
Just as an FYI, putting mithril on a breastplate does not actually make it light armor (for the purposes of proficiency); it makes it light armor for the purposes of encumbrance (so, someone proficient in only light armor still takes the non-proficiency penalty, but there is mo movement penalty).
GM Aerondor
|
I'm moderately okay with reskinning actions so long as it doesn't cause confusion or offence to people. In essence if folk can't work out what you are actually doing, then it will have to stop.
And p[lease make it easy for me to understand too. The same goes for everyone for spells - fluff it up, but put an OOC in making it clear what you are doing so I am less likely to make a mistake. This is my first time through the module after all.
GM Aerondor
|
@Reverend Gabriel Helminth
Can you add your AC, HP, init, perception and saves to the "class" bit of your character sheet. Also add a stat block and skills etc to the main tab of it so I can see what you can do.
Iron Man
|
How does Gabriel check for traps 10' in front of him? Or are you just referring to standard perception penalties?
I've always understood it as checking for traps just uses the standard active perception check rules:
Move Action,Total DC = Trap DC, +1/10ft from source + Environmental (lighting)
Also when you get to make passive perception checks, with things like the trap spotter rogue talent and the Stonecunning dwarven racial trait, they say they work as soon as you are with 10ft of a trap or stonework.
Though I could definitely be wrong, I just don't remember seeing anything that said different.
Hawk Lifebinder
|
I must say that there is an interesting build-up to this scenario.
Traps already sprung, puzzles already solved and the feeling of pursuit. It's quite a bit different then other scenarios I've played, but I like variety so that's not a bad thing.
Hawk Lifebinder
|
Can you spring-load a scroll?
A scroll case containing a scroll seems OK but that would make it a full round action (move action to withdraw the scroll).
I am honestly curious I haven't heard some try it before.
Reverend Gabriel Helminth
|
To the best of my knowledge, there have been several long and contentious threads about the use of scrolls in spring-loaded wrist sheaths, but there has never been any official clarification either way (either generally, or as a PFS-specific rule).
If the GM wishes to rule that it does not work, that is fine - but I will change my action to hiding at the back of the combat :-)
Tarquin-RK
|
I know a 2 star GM using it himself, so in our tables we can often use it if we like. However do note that casting from a scroll is always a standard action at least. He wanted to use it for featherfall, but that is a standard.
GM Aerondor
|
I'm pretty easy about most things, unless you try to totally break a game.
A scroll is a one use object, so having it on a spring sheath doesn't seem unreasonable to me.
GM Aerondor
|
Given it is the weekend and Idemi has let us know he is out for a day, I'm pausing the combat until tomorrow so he can get in a decent round. It's no fun being NPCed at a critical moment.
Tarquin-RK
|
The coming three weeks I will be traveling as part of a vacation (will tell where afterwards). Suffice to say my posting rate might slow down a little as I will only have my mobile with me and I thus can't do level up stuff very well. I will stay in motels which often have free wifi so to the best of my ability I will try not to hold people back, but please do not be afraid to gmpc me. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Cheers.

Thanks GM - I would like to use the faction change available for Season 6 to become a member of the Silver Crusade.
Just for reference in case anyone else missed this, I did just locate the relevant passage from the Organized Play guide.
With the change of most factions from nation-based to
ideal-based at the start of Season 6, every character is
allowed one free faction change anytime during Season
6. After the one free faction change, if at any point you
become disillusioned with your faction, you can change
to a different one. The longer you have spent in service
to a faction, the higher the relative cost to change to
one that hasn’t seen firsthand your ability to forward
their goals. Changing your faction costs a number of
Prestige Points equal to 3 times your character level,
but does not alter your Fame score. (Prestige Points
and Fame are fully explained in Chapter 5). You retain
your faction traits, if any, but lose any faction-specific
Prestige Awards you have accumulated during your time
with your old faction; generic Prestige Awards from
Table 5–4 and Vanities (Pathfinder Society Field Guide 60)
are unaffected.
I kind of knew that faction changes happened but I didn't realize that everyone got a free change. I thought only the factions that were changed could pick a new one like the Lantern and Shadow Lodge changes from some time ago.
If this change needs to be marked on my chronicle sheet please do so.

BTW,
This encounter has TPKed more than one party, so don't go easy on them thinking 'skeletons, I'll save my resources'.
I suspect at high tier it is not quite as deadly as low, but it can still go nasty easily. This has been a public safety announcement.
Hawk Lifebinder

If a Life oracle can't take out 3 skeletons with the aid of 8 other 'things' (5 pcs, 1 edilon, 2 NPCs) then something has gone horribly horribly wrong.

Just in case it wasn't clear - I see us as having a man of science, and a man of faith, butting heads, refusing to compromise, and somewhat sourly heckling each other, but not doing anything to compromise the mission.
I just wanted to be clear that I was taking it in good humour, and delivering it the same way, even if Tony and Rev. Gabriel do not ;-)
"Explore! Report! Cooperate!"
Iron Man

Right there with you Rev.
PS Don't trust the GM I have a feeling he is trying to trick us into using all our resources not since I here the end boss is a real TPK machine as well (pun intended).
GM Aerondor
|
All, from this Saturday (my time) I'll be travelling for a week (conference in San Diego) - so my posting will be substantially reduced, and maybe non existant. Don't worry, I will return.
GM Aerondor
|
BTW, you are now at an optional encounter.
My preference is to skip it, as we are into week six of the scenario already, and the guidance says to skip if less than 1 and a half hours remain. Most PbP seem to take about eight weeks for me, so we are 'relative' speaking probably past the skip point.
However if the majority of you would like the encounter (no clues!) then I'll prepared to run it for you.
