Actually the attack bonuses do stack. Bless is a +1 morale bonus to attack and saves v. fear; Inspire Courage is +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage, and +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects.
Kane advances, drawing his light crossbow.

Zyrethian moves forward and seeing his original plan disrupted and his allies various tactics and also finally realizing that Pavo thinks we should take them alive opts to act more reservedly. He watches the enemies intently and appears to be ready to cast a spell.

Anastasia's light show knocks out the Kortos caster, and then Kirrote kills the red-haired man with a single blow. Shorty makes a fancy move on the remaining warrior, who clumsily tries to retaliate and takes a missile blast to the face for his troubles.
Everybody is up.

Unsure how long the caster will stay down and confident in his allies ability to handle the 1 foe remaining standing, Zyrethian draws his rapier and moves over by him ready to strike if the caster becomes aggressive.
Hearing Anastasia's question as he approaches, "I guess that depends on him. I think, if possible we should take them alive."
Standard - Draw Rapier
Move - Move

![]() |

"Yes. Keep the one we didn't disembowel alive. Put him in the cage," Pavo says. "It's one thing to kill them in the heat of battle, but something else entirely to murder them when they're helpless."
After a short pause, Pavo clarifies, "Do note that I do not necessarily have the same sentiment toward the Aspis agents."

![]() |

Looking at it from a business perspective, we were not suppose to harm the Kortos agents if possible. Obviously that didn't happen. Perhaps in the end we need to make it look like the Aspis and Kortos fought each other here. Kane suggests.

![]() |

Kirrote doesn't actually crit, and only takes the guy down because he was already injured. He was one tough SOB.
Kirrote makes quick work of the lone, conscious Kortos agent. All four still draw breath, and one is merely sleeping.
Heal up. Deal with your prisoners, and make any desired preparations before the Aspis get here. And please make sure to move your tokens if you so wish.

Pavo is surprised to find that even the most greviously wounded are still breathing. "Cayden's luck! Let's see if we can stabilize them and stuff them in the cage before the Aspis get here."
After stabilizing the blood flow or not, Pavo climbs onto a crate and readies a smoke stick to throw at the Aspis when they arrive. "I'll try to hit them with this when they come in."
Several Heal checks.
Readied action to use smoke stick and target intersection in front of Aspis or as close as maximum throwing range allows

"So, think we have time to block this secret door before the Aspis arrive? If so, I think we should do it." If it is agreed to do so, Zyren will help move boxes to block the secret door. Once that is done, or if people don't want to, Zyrethian moves back to his original post and waits with bow in hand ready to fight.
If we get interupted in the process of moving boxes, then just put me where it makes sense. If we do move boxes Zyrethian will insist that someone stand watch while we work to make sure no one comes in tyhe entrance without us knowing, suggesting Shorty as he has shown himself to be more observant than average.

Anastasia goes out to place her toad in a nice spot behind a small rock. "Watch, feel, when they come I come and help", she instructs the toad, then returns to her hiding place next to some crates, keeping her bow ready at hand.
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

![]() |

@Pavo: You can't actually ready an action before combat. The mechanic for that is a surprise round, so Stealth (in this case) or Bluff to setup an ambush.
@Anastasia: Charming will definitely buy you a round or two of notice, but he is vulnerable out there. If there are any jerks among the Aspis agents, they might squash him for fun. Mechanically, I will roll a d100 for each evil Aspis agent, and you lose Charming on a nat 1.
Kane tends to Kirrote, while Pavo looks after the Kortos agents' lives, and Zyrethian moves some more crates around.
Anybody who hasn't already, please roll Stealth to setup for the ambush.

![]() |

Kirrote stands still while Kane applies magical healing. "Ok. That's good." He flexes his muscled arms a few times and examines the skin that only a few moments ago had been slashed open.
"We're going to try to ambush these guys? Sounds like a good idea." Kirrote helps move boxes and then prepares for the ambush.

Pavo tries to crouch behind a higher crate, hiding himself as best he can.

Heh. Short version: that was more of an OOC/player readied action because I was going to be gone so long. :)

Zyrethian takes a moment to stretch his limbs before settling down for what could be a long wait in the best hiding spot he can manage.

It'll take them forever to get in that way, I won't be surprised if they give up and try another entrance. Kane tells Pavo.

Zyrethian puts up a spell to watch the rear flank, then Pavo returns to his hideout and draws another smokestick, while Anastasia waits with crossbow poised. Kirrote rushes the door and Kane moves up more slowly.
Just then, the doors open up, and Kirrote sees the crates start to wiggle, as if being pushed upon.
Everybody is up.
Pushing over a 5-ft. stack of crates is a full-round action and requires a DC 18 Strength check. The crates are numerous and heavy enough that you think it will hurt people on the other side.
