![]() |

Yea. Misfortune is one of the nastiest debuffs there is. Fortunately it costs her a standard action to do it (basically a 1-1 trade to mess your action up). Unfortunately a witch will usually take cackle too and as long as she spends a move action and cackles the pain goes on. I wonder, would a silence spell stop the madness, or perhaps a finger puppet shoved down her throat? It doesn't say.

![]() |

I don't know about misfortune, but I would say that the cackle would be (kinda) verbal, so Silence would take care of that. Just my two cents.. but I've never played a witch and am by far no expert on that. I played a couple of modules with a witch in the party, and thats exactly what she did. It was higher level, so she was flying around the room cackling at the bad guys and just causing all sorts of mayhem for the GM. Fun for us, though!

Quick recap:
the area of the wagon is covered by web. This is difficult terrain. Only Giggles is currently grappled in the web. Everyone else can move in the web, but must make a CMB or Escape Artist check to move, or become grappled, DC15. If you are grappled, you cannot move, are -2 to all attacks, -4 dex, and must concentrate to cast.
The area in front of the wagon is covered in tangling vines. This is difficult terrain, and anyone stepping into it, or remaining in it at the end of their turn, must save DC13 oe become entangled. To stop being entangled, you have to make a STR (not CMB) or Escape Artist DC13 check as a move action. Entangled is almost like, but annoyingly different to, grappled. Entangled creatures can move at half speed, -2 to all attacks, -4 dex, and must concentrate to cast.
Everyone except Balomar and Giggles has total cover from the opponents at the front of the wagon (and vice versa). Giggles has cover from/to them, and Balomar has cover from/to the southmost one, but not the others. Everyone has cover from/to the opponents at the back of the wagon, except Balomar and Giggles who have total cover.
Both bless and inspire courage are up.
If someone could drop grease and obscuring mist then we'd have even more fun working out what the hell is going on.

I know Kyra saif she was going to try to cast hold person, but she can't cast at the woman, because total cover blocks line of effect, and I'm not sure if this was clear, so I'm going to give you a chance to repost.

LMAO.. I would be happy to oblige, but unfortunately, neither of those are in Jazmine's repertoire!
Jazmines features once more take on the striped visage of the tiger, making her eyesight keener and her movements more graceful. She turns her bow to the rear, trying to hit somone that she can actually see.

With uncanny precision, Jazmine threads an arrow through the thick strands of webbing, hitting one of the men standing towards the rear of the wagon.
Borax attempts to emulate her feat, but his shot becomes stuck on the gluey threads.
Kyra strides through the webbing as though it were not there, ducking and weaving, and comes up behind Balomar, next to a rather stunned, entangled, webbed horse.
The thugs towards the rear exchange a look, and then sprint for cover behind the large rocks that line the edge of the trail, dropping down prone and reloading their crossbows.
The woman cacklers evilly at Balomar, who feels the effects of her hex continue to fill his soul with dread. Then she looks him in the eye again and begins to croon a lullaby. Balomar's eyelids seem very heavy...

Kit yelps and drops her crossbow, grabbing the key and holding it away from the creepy lizard. I love a good pun, she thinks, after she thinks creep-y lizard.
Kit then attempts to cast hideous laughter defensively because nothing would make her day like seeing the creepy lizard convulsed in laughter.
Hey, if its smart enough to try to steal my key, its probably smart enough to get a good joke. A pun should do the trick!
"The Lizard made a bad decision when it climbed up the fox. It was newt a good idea."
Or a bad joke with a little magical help?
Defensive cast: 1d20 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 3 = 8
No help there. She glares at the lizard and says, "Gimme a break. I've never performed for a lizard before. Also, its distracting when the audience is on top of you. Usually a bad sign, you know."
She incorporates the scene in her ongoing performance so everyone is still inspired.

Giggles is hopelessly caught in the webbing and unable to move. With a plaintive roar, she calls out, begging for help. Jazmine responds by tossing a quick reassurance over her shoulder at the lizard.
"Well now, Ya shouldn't be playing in the webbing then, should ya? I'll get you out as soon as I can!"

Still adjusting to the light he misses completely. (Note: I do not have his stats at hand so that roll was a guesstimate, but with a nat 5 rolled I don't feel the need to look up the actual to hit bonus - it's going to be a miss).

Kitoro has Saving Finale. If you find yourself failing a saving throw I give you permission to do a micro-bot and have her terminate the performance to get a second saving throw. It's had to react quickly enough to a failed saving throw in PbP to make this spell useful.

Jazmine isn't tangled in the webbing at the moment so doesn't need a concentration check to cast.
Kyra calls on her goddess to freeze the limbs of the witch, focusing the divine energy.
Witch Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
But whatever power protects the woman deflects Kyra's spell harmlessly.
The thugs at the rear of the caravan reload their crossbows and wait for a target.
The witch glares at Kyra. "Cut her down!" she yells to the thugs next to her. To the others she shouts "I will burn you all alive in the webbing and take the key from your ashes. Give it to me!"
She pulls a wand from her clothing, says a word, and the tip begins to glow with a foul purple light.

It rakes at the back of one of the prone thugs, who panicks, rising to his knees, arms waving in an attempt to ward it off. He is just in time to catch Jazmine's arrow in his throat.
