Kanzen would actually prefer to push on and waste as little time as possible. Me, the player, I'd rather everyone rest up and get up to max capacity, given that we're still in survival mode. As a GM, I hate it when my players pull that 15 minute day trick over and over again, but this is a little different, I think.

I don't mind which way we go, long or short rest. Just putting forth a point of view. If we've found a spot that's easily defensible, I think some of the characters would enjoy some chill time, while others (like Kanzen) would be itchy to keep moving.

Okay, I'm going to grab a bunch of stuff that might be useful or worth something to sell later on. I'm going to mark them with an asterisk, indicating that I am carrying them rather than claiming them. Anyone can feel free to just take those items whenever they want.

Also, neither Eddrikk nor Cyrus has armour on, as far as the loot sheet is concerned. Do either of you have hide armour on? Also, Galinndan's leather armour is now up for grabs, one of you should take that.

Edit: Also giving everyone a longbow and arrows, except Galenus and Irdril, who are not proficient. Can't hurt.

There is also Tiberius's short sword up for grabs, assuming he's going to use the shield and doesn't want to dual wield with spear and shortsword. Galinndan has expressed interest, but again, as far as I can tell Cyrus and Eddrikk only have one weapon each. Were you both going two weapon fighting? If so, maybe one of you should take it.

Oh I see that you were after a shield Cyrus... I think using a shield interferes with your Mariner fighting style abilities, so you prob don't want that. Did you want the second short sword? Also, seems you get the leather, as Eddrikk has taken hide armour.

Good point. I kept two daggers from the drow loot but I wouldn't mind upgrading.

Just a reminder to all, please post once per weekday and once per weekend. If you will be unavailable, just let me know! That's no problem! Since I'll know you're unavailable, I won't hesitate to bot you and the game will maintain its flow.

Now I'm not asking for any sort of heroic posting rate of several per day. Just a consistent rate we agreed to in recruitment. If there's nothing for you to do, just post your inner dialogue or something! Keeps things interesting and moving. :)

We need to find some ways to remove disadvantage on that building check.

With disadvantage, the first three hours has three failures. Everyone come up with an idea to help remove it.

Yes those who forgot disadvantage for no tools on the second set of rolls, please roll a second set of six that we can line up.

Don't forget RP provides bonuses! Galenus' RP gets him a +1 on all of his gathering rolls, as does Eddrikk's about his head.

I've run the numbers and posted the Google sheet in the discord chat.

As of right now, we have a passing group check to find material within one hour.

Caster is letting us all use our Inspiration to cancel disadvantage for the first roll of the building group check. With that, Kanzen, Eddrick, and I can all make or first check pass.

This means we need one more passing roll.

Idril, Tiberius, and Cyrus all have to roll with disadvantage. Idril can grant a bardic inspiration to help, and Cyrus gets his proficiency bonus because of water craft proficiency. That will help. We just need one more passing roll +with disadvantage).

Yeah, that hurts! A bit of a dumb move jumping in there, but he's neither smart nor wise, and also desperate to prove himself different from other drow, if only to himself. Also, if he survives this I'm definitely taking mariner fighter style when he gets to paladin level 2, the rules changes make it too good to pass up!

FYI on spells while rowing, if the spell doesn't have somatic components, you can cast it while rowing.

Was looking at the "PBP threads to lurk on" thread and saw a couple of you guys pop up. I'm sure there were others of you commended on there as I didn't check through every alias but props to werepox for running a great Mummy's Mask game and decimus for playing in a cool Last King of Ireland.


Lol nice.. I had no idea that even existed and I'm kinda flattered to make such a list. We are actually on the last fight of that campaign. Took over 4 years in real life to reach that point with about the last 6 months being really challenging to get done. I think it will finish around 9500 posts.

That's why I like to run AL games on PBP. Short and sweet; usually over just before that critical cut off where games die from lack of interest. :)

Hey all, I wanted to make a post here, since it seems I forgot to/thought I had. I'm dealing with some stuff right now, I'm hoping that it won't be too long of an issue, I may be able to get in a few posts here and there, but please don't wait on me until I say otherwise. I will let caster bot me as he wishes, save not spending spell slots unless its to smite either a boss on a hit, or on a crit oh, or to heal someone at the end of a day/before a long rest(obv if someone is dying He would heal them, with lay on hands 1st, spells 2nd). Again, sorry I've been so spotty, just have personal issues atm. Sorry again. its been a really fun game so far, with a lot of interesting characters!

Just to qualify, I've never heard of Dagon in Forgotten Realms lore, but I do remember him from RE Howard's Conan (or King Kull?) stories, and also vaguely in some biblical sense.

Yeah the random encounter doesn't specify what long-forgotten power this altar is to so I threw in Dagon. Seemed appropriate on multiple levels. Cthulhu lore, Biblical reference, and a demon lord of the abyss in dnd, though I don't think he made it to 5th edition. Don't have good access to a canonical source on that.
